Museum Cafe Ratings and Reviews
The service was extremely slow. We had a 6:30 reservation and we ordered appetizers, soup and entrees. Our soup arrived at 7:00, followed shortly by our appetizers. Which was completely out of order and then our entrees were brought to our table about 7:10. I don’t understand why the wait staff did this. Our table was full of plates of food, which we couldn’t enjoy, because we didn’t want our entrees to get cold. We also ordered wine and cocktails from the bar and those didn’t arrive until after 7:00. I’m hoping this was just a bad waiter, because the food was excellent. We will give the restaurant another try and hope for a better experience.
I routinely bring friends and family to the Museum Cafe to celebrate birthdays because the ambiance is celebratory yet relaxed. One can't help be charmed by the restaurant's warm, inviting atmosphere that is elegant and cozy at the same time. The staff are always friendly and welcoming.
Have been here several times always before going to a play or musical at the Civic Center, so are always pressed for time yet they always provide the best level of service. Their food choices are always outstanding and enjoy all of their options they have available. Menu does change throughout the various season, so always something new to try. Highly recommend this restaurant.
My husband and I enjoyed a quiet lunch at the Cafe prior to our museum visit. The menu was varied and offered many delicious sounding choices. I chose the Black Bean Burger, which was served with a fresh-tasting salad of greens as a side. The burger was good and spicy, but although the ciabatta bread bun was soft, I would have preferred less bun to burger ratio. My husband liked the bowl of soup, but we were surprised at how small the portion size was for the price (almost as expensive as my burger with salad). Service was attentive and we would definitely return, especially prior to or following a museum visit.
Brought out-of-town friends to the museum and then for lunch at the Museum Cafe. We all enjoyed it very much. I think that all five of us got something different and it was all very good - salad, soups (tomato that they have every day and tortilla), Smokey Mac and cheese, crab panini, lobster bisque, club sandwich. Have eaten there many times and have never had a bad meal. The staff is always very friendly and efficient. Highly recommend the Nuseum Cafe!
Enjoyed a leisure Sunday brunch to celebrate a Birthday. Parking was wierd as we had not been here before and didn't know where the front entrance was. But once in a very good experience wait time for food a little long but we were not in a rush so worked out ok.
Nice venue for a lovely holiday dinner. The salmon was particularly well-prepared. Our server was extremely patient with our tendency for talking among ourselves instead paying attention to our dinner. An especially delightful evening with a view of downtown lights. Recommend this restaurant.
Over the years, this is our go to place to catch up with friends. The food is always great, the service timely though unrushed. We generally make reservations just in case it’s busy. For brunch or dinner there is variety in the menus. Good value for an excellent atmosphere and fine dining.
As always, Museum Cafe delivers. Beautiful setting, excellent service and everyone in our group was pleased with their menu choice. The Caprese Salad, with new presentation, is still a favorite , and the House Salad included more wonderful flavors. Our steak and scallops were perfection.
We went to the Museum Cafe prior to going to the OKC Symphony's Christmas Program. The noise level was high, the food was sub par. My wife's steak ordered medium came out very, very rare. My son and I ordered fish and the wait staff could not get the en tray's in the right places. I had a stomach ache until the next morning. Etc., etc. We've eaten there before but last Friday night was the worst experience there. We'll probably find another place next time we are in that area for dinner.
The restaurant was lovely as always but I ordered ribeye medium rare and it was served medium well/well. Didn't send it back because we had tickets to a show. Manager did provide free desserts for that day and a future visit. Friends at the table ordered a bottle of wine which never came.
We have been a regular for awhile. The vegetable plate is less then desirable since the bean patty eliminated. Two types of squash that were undercooked and lacked flavor. The server although sweet was clearly not used to serving in a higher end restaurant. Did not offer desert or clear dinner plates when we ordered desert. Very disappointed in the meal.
Our occasion at the Museum Café for lunch last Friday (11-10-17) was enjoyed by all. The atmosphere was quiet, comfortable and exceptionally clean. We all found our food to be delicious and served promptly and courteously. It was a very pleasant experience for all and one that we would recommend to our friends. Personally, it is my favorite place to dine in OKC.
Busier than usual we were told the night we visited as there was a theater event. However, we were greeted promptly, seated, and with a drink in hand in just a couple minutes. Food (lobster bisque, huge house salad, duck, scallops) was excellent and service was good. Quiet enough for conversation even though the restaurant was full. When we're in OKC again we'll certainly return.
The Museum Cafe did not disappoint! We have eaten there several times. Had seen some recent bad reviews about service. But our service was outstanding. We were running a few minutes late after getting in a traffic jam. We were going to the Pops after dinner. They made sure we got our food and out in time for the concert. The food was delicious, as always!
As usual, the food was good. The service, however, was what I would expect in a fast-food restaurant, not in a white table-cloth restaurant. The hostess acted as if we did not have a reservation and the designation of one of the guest's birthday was not acknowledged at all. (Don't ask the question if you are not going to acknowledge the answer.) It took quite a while for the server to greet us. My guest did ordered a cocktail and I ordered soup. I asked that the two be served at the same time and that when we were done with that "course" to place the order for the entrees. The soup arrived first, then the cocktail, and by the second spoonful of the soup, the entrees arrived. I commented that I wanted the entrees to be served after the soup, the manager offered to keep the plates warm - which, of course, I declined because I don't want to have my meal sitting under a heat lamp as would happen at McDonald's.
When we were done eating, the server asked if we wanted one or two checks (something that could have been avoided if the original reservation had been consulted). My guest asked for coffee - but it was never offered. We were not offered nor shown a desert menu. Though the restaurant was open for at least another hour, and though there were no other diners waiting to be seated, we were rushed out of the restaurant.
The food was good, but the entire experience was greatly disappointing. I will recommend the restaurant only with a strong disclaimer about the service. Right now, I doubt that I will return to the Museum Cafe, a place I have been patronizing for the past 12 years.
