The food was great and the ambiance was very nice but our waitress was amazing! Would return to this restaurant because of her help and service!

The food and service were top rate. However, the chef had problems with his fettuccine and told one of my guests that he wasn’t willing to serve it to her. The meal they gave her instead used gnocchi, which she didn’t/doesn’t like. They should have allowed her to change her order completely and let her look over the menu to pick something new. I think this was just a one-off, because otherwise everything was wonderful and delicious.

Had a nice, quiet dinner before event at Galliard. Food was very good, service quick and attentive. Wine pairing with food, perfect. A good, Italian retaurant, that is not noisy. We sat upstairs and had a view of the street.

We found Muse charming. The reception was friendly and efficient. We ordered the gnocchi and it was delicious. The last time we had gnocchi this good was in Chicago at a very highly rated restaurant. The espresso is the best that we have had in Charleston. The service was also very good and very professional.

Enjoyed our second meal this week. Once again service was excellent. The Sea Bass and Veal preparations were exceptional. Tasty, beautifully presented and melt in your mouth. The Chef really has the gift. Thank you for sharing your talent. We will return. Rob was wonderful to talk with, so well informed.

We had heard nothing but good things about Muse so we decided to give it a try. The old house is really cool and they were playing great music. The bar area is nice too. We ordered a Sancerre which was really good and cold. If only the food were good, it would have been a great experience. The grilled calamari was fishy, the heirloom tomato salad was mealy, the signature crispy fish was not special and was tasteless and the ricotta cheesecake was grainy and blah. Disappointing after the great reviews we had heard.

Our server, Don, was excellent and was an overall fun guy! My fiancé and I had an enjoyable conversation with him at length after our meal about our collective music backgrounds. Would definitely request him again whenever we make it back up to Charleston from Florida!

Best gnocchi that I have had in 20 years in Charleston, knowledgeable waiter helped to pair the bottle of wine with our tastes. Romantic historic building. Amazing rich desserts and the potato/leek gratin was perfectly prepared.

Very depressing atmosphere upstairs. May be better downstairs. Very cold. Unpleasant lighting. Couldn’t wait to leave. Food was okay but there are many better choices in Charleston.

The food was amazing. I tried the bouillabaisse and wife tried the bass and both were excellent. The wine selection was also really good here.

Warning for anyone seeking a relaxed meal. We have never been so rushed through a meal as we were yesterday. We ordered drinks, appetizers, entrees, desert and a bottle of wine. From the time we sat down (five mins early for our reservation) until the time we were told they needed our table only 90 mins had elapsed. Our waiter basically said people were waiting downstairs for our table and apologized - offered to comp our desert but I wasn’t interested - too angry and upset. Shameful treatment for which there was no excuse. We will never return and anyone booking would be well advised to confirm they won’t be rushed from their table. P

We had the homemade pasta and it was a bit disappointing. It was a bit gummy, not really distinct, good, not remarkable. It was a Sunday evening, and I noticed some other patrons had the gazpacho and pork chops and were very pleased. We always try something different and were pleasantly surprised by the roasted beets.
The restaurant was quiet, in n unrestored original condition house, giving a somewhat historic ambiance of peeling paint and plaster. A different and fun feeling.
The service was fine, experienced and professional. Overall it is a fun place and we will try it again.

It was a disappointment. Calamari appetizer was lukewarm. Bouillabaisse was tasteless, lemon chiffon cake was dry and the pannacotta was a strange consistency. However the duck appetizer was flavorful and the wine was decent. Even with reservations, we arrived it was chaotic.

Energetic and bustling, the restaurant is made up of many rooms decorated in Italian themes from rustic to Baroque, so the ambience is good. Menu is interesting, but execution imperfect. Dessert was the best chocolate torte; the sea bass was ordinary, sauce undistinguished, the duck breast too tough, the gnocchi was ok. Solid service but not up to standards of CHS.

Food was wonderful. Ambiance was great. The server had a bit of a stand off personality. I would have liked her to be a bit more friendly. The biggest issue I had was making us order the main dish with our appetizer. I thought that was a bit bush league, especially for a high dollar meal for two.

Muse is a hidden gem in Charleston. We have been going there for years and will continue to go there, especially when we have friends in town with whom we want to talk. If you want a place with great food and a place where you can actually hear what your dinner partners are saying, go there.

A delightful dinner in a house built in 1858. The decor is fun and a bit funky. We were in what must be a former parlor with just 4 tables. Unfortunately, we had a "loud talker" anyone of the other tables. The service was attentive but not intrusive. The food was interesting and well presented. I enjoyed my swordfish and my husband his pasta dish. My dessert was supposed to be a blood orange panna cotta. It was heavy, grainy, and bitter--nothing like a panna cotta should be. But that was the only culinary downer of the evening.

My two girlfriends and I were visiting Charleston to celebrate my upcoming nuptials. We read the reviews on Yelp and decided to try Muse. We sat outside in a lovely courtyard and had a thoroughly enjoyable dinner. I had the sea bass and it was incredibly tasty. Service was very good as was the ambiance. I would recommend Muse for a lovely evening out!

I dine there frequently while in Charleston on business. The staff treat me like a family member which is a very nice touch. Dining is always the one of if not the best meals I ever have when in town. I dine there repeatedly ever week while in town due to the quality of the entire menu, coupled with the extreme graciousness of the owner and entire staff. I consider the Muse dining experience to be one of my overall best encountered during my frequent travels nationally and internationally for a local airplane company in Seattle. Muse doesn't raise the dining bar, they establish the bar for all others in Charleston to follow for the perfect intimate dining experience. Their Veal Scaloppini should be considered a major food group and is exquisite. Thank you Muse for making me feel special each and every encounter....
