Great place with a fun bar and cozy atmosphere
Great service wonderful food
We had the fish specia and the scallops. Both were delicious. Service was very nice and the wine list was good. Wonderful atmosphere!
Hidden spot that I a, so happy to share with friends!
Neat old building, service was good. Food, except dessert, was good. Desert was bad.
Bar area is great if you can get a seat. Donnie the bartender is excellent. Restaurant ambiance is very nice. Nice weather the porch seating is a great, however one of the gas heaters is not working. Not sure why it is still on the porch!! Portions are a little small, but overall a great experience.
We had a lovely dinner for 6 at Muse. The service was excellent and we were provided with lots of information about the food and wine selections. The portions were just right and we left satisfied. Highly recommended.
Entree size (paella) was small and prepared unimaginatively. Amount of seafood was adequate, but quantity of rice was small.
We will definitely return to MUSE, great ambiance and decor, delicious food, good service, unobtrusive and fast.
Fun, romantic place historic house in downtown Charleston. Waitstaff was excellence and food top notch! Highly recommend!
We started at the bar. It was nice and quiet. The bartender was great. The dinner was great and priced in a fair range. We’ll be back.
only hiccup was I had reserved table 30, waitress apologized for missing that on the reservation and was told it was cold up there heat had not been turned on so we sat downstairs, others arriving shortly thereafter all sat upstairs...downstairs is nice but prefer upstairs
Neat location, great food and wine and wonderful service.
Outstanding food and service. Highly recommend for a romantic dinner
Todd is the best server in Charleston
We can a mix up on another reservation. Quick checked Open Table at 4:30 on Sat night for a reservation for 4 of us. Muse popped up. We all commented it was a real hidden secret. Best meal we had in Charleston. And dined at High Cotton on Thursday night. Can’t wait to return. Patio setting was true old world charm. Venison special was the best for my hubby. I enjoyed the flavors of the gnocchi. Friends had the lamb and the sea scallop dishes.
Perfect way to end our SEWE weekend. Can’t wait to go back.
PS Tini’s were PERFECT 🍸
Food was lower quality than last visit. We were told there was a new chef. Seafood was bland. Very small portions. Staff was very nice. We will not return unless we hear food has improved.
My birthday dinner with my husband. Wanted something different than the usual fried and southern options in Charleston. Excellent!
We really enjoyed the Valentine's Day dinner. Excellent food and great service.
We enjoyed a wonderful dinner for Valentine’s Day. The muse is a charming restaurant.
Waitress was helpful and food was good. Portions were too small. Some left hungry.
This was our second visit since last summer. We had a wonderful dining experience then. This visit we were brought upstairs and seated literally 2-3 feet from a corner table with three other patrons. Felt we were at their table and in their conversation. Requested to be moved which we were. Part of the ambiance of Muse is the intimacy of the rooms, however competing with a nearby conversation was not part of our dining plan Saturday night. Would have been nice if the hostess would have and should have approached us to see if we were happier with our move. My husband chose the veal scallopine dish-very small portions. I had the fish special-halibut beurre blanc. Too spicy and lemony. We heard they have a new chef-how new we don't know. I will say that last summer their housemade pasta dishes were delicious. On that note we will try Muse again in the future, but stick with their pasta and ask to be seated with more space between other dining patrons.
Special place! Sat and ate at the bar. Donnie is an exceptional bar tender - skilled, personable and very entertaining! Ask him to show you one of his card tricks. Within a half hour at the bar we felt like we were among old friends. After just a few minutes with Donnie we gave him free reign to bring us food we would love: heirloom tomatoes and fresh mozzarella, calamari, Brussel sprouts, salad with fried manchego, and boca negra for dessert. Great food! Great time!
Server was fantastic. Food tasted amazing. Would go back again! Loved the location and patio seating
Great ambiance, great location in the heart of Charleston. Friendly waiting staff.
Excellent service, food, and atmosphere. The scallops and veal were wonderful.
This has always been one of our favorite restaurants where we could always count on a good meal for a reasonable price. 7 of us dined the other night, the service was excellent and most of the group were pleased with their meal. The swordfish was a bit dry and over cooked and my seafood dish was a bit bland. Hoping the new chef can keep the standards up so this can continue to be a staple for us.
Muse was highly recommended by a friend as “before the show” place to eat. Maybe they were short of help that night, but our meal took FOREVER to come. I scheduled plenty of time to eat and get to the theater. We did not get to enjoy it as much because we had about 10 minutes or less to eat it before we had to leave. The food and ambience was terrific. I would like to go back when I had plenty of time, and NOT before a show.
The food was just bland, no flavor at all so we were very disappointed.
A colleague and I took a job candidate to Muse for dinner. It was absolutely perfect. Warm, friendly atmosphere—-casual and welcoming with outstanding service. And all three of our dinners were lovely in every sense, attractively presented and absolutely delicious. And all at a price that doesn’t break the bank. This is the third time I’ve brought a visitor to Charleston to Muse and they’ve been delighted every time. (Note: I think it’s the best restaurant for fish in Charleston, perfectly and simply prepared with well-chosen complementary sides.)
We arrived early for our reservation so we decided to sit at the bar. After a drink that Donnie recommended we decided to have our dinner there. Excellent drinks, food and Donnie was very friendly and entertaining. Would definitely like to visit again on our next trip to Charleston.
My first time walking into Muse, Donny the bartender found out it was my birthday and had the entire bar sing to me, twice - What a fun welcome to one of my new favorite places to visit! Food was delicious!
Lovely setting. We found the food good but inconsistent- some dishes better than other. Service was very disappointing. It took more than 10 minutes just to get a glass of water. Out waiter showed up infrequently and the food took forever to come.
Super cute place. The staff was excellent. Everyone was helpful and pleasant. Our entrees were not that great which was disappointing.
We enjoyed our restaurant week dinner. Choices were diverse and tasteful.
Our server was flawless. The food was great. We did feel like the cocktails were totally overpriced, why all the extra charges?
Food was delicious, decor was awesome, our waiter, Ben, was very knowledgeable on the menu and made us feel very welcome. We can’t wait to go back.
The food was horrible , the restaurant is beautiful and our service was exceptional. All 4 of us agreed the food was incredibly overrated.
Muse, as always, is a wonderful restaurant! The food, the ambience, the owner, the staff....all perfection! I've tasted almost everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. Jen, our server, is always wonderful and helps make the dining experience great!
