Always stop at Muse when in Charleston!!
Thank you Donny for the excellant service and the Allagash
Waitor was great. Think we may have found a hidden gem. Tables are tight. Not super modern. But easy to look pass because the food was so good!
Amazing as always, Donnie makes the experience like being a part of the family.
Were charged for things we did not order. Don was like a used car salesman!!!!
It was lovely! We ate outside and their courtyard is covered, heated and charming. The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. Would definitely go back!
Date night in Charleston! traveling from MD to FL. We were not disappointed with our Muse dinner choice. Staff greeted us warmly, seating us in outdoor heated patio, as requested. Donnie offered the tasting menu which we were all about. If you don’t mind sharing plates and want a break from decisions, this is fantastic. We had ALL delish spinach & artichoke tarte, tender duck breast, grilled Bronzino and fresh tagliatelle Bolognese finishing with a pomegranate pistachio trifle. Donnie paired our meal with a smooth Italian red wine within our price range. He and team checked in for each course. Donnie delivered on his promise to take care of us. Thanks Muse for a lovely meal to remember - Salut!
Food was excellent. Service was about average. Great place for families.
The restaurant was all we expected. Creative and satisfying food, outstanding wine selection. Booked during a short stay in Charleston, wold definitely go the again. My wife loved it.
My wife, who is a seafood fanatic, said "the swordfish was the best she ever tasted in a restaurant". We will surely return.
The food was OK, but the service was absolutely terrible
The food was incredible!! However it is a very quaint restaurant and tables close together and the groups around us were very loud.
Glad we did try it. But definitely the senses were on full alert!
Took longer than expected to get seated and served but the food was well worth the wait.
Such an amazing experience! Go see Donnie and you won't regret it!! Food and service was spot on.
We had a wonderful time at Muse. We will return.
We felt like an afterthought shoved in a storage closet - turned dinning room because there we’re already too many guests. We were taken to a small dank room with broken fixtures showing exposed wires. This was also where the glasses were stored for the rest of the restaurant. 3 small tables were crammed in extremely tight. There was also a strange sewer smell. It felt like the waiter kept forgetting we were back there as well. The food was ok, definitely NOT good enough to make up for the atmosphere.
Good environment and fantastic food. Found the wait staff a little snobbish and the food took a while to come out, but that may be because it was truly cooked in-house and not frozen, so a wait is not a problem.
Our server, Donnie, was terrific. As we sat down he asked if he could take the reins and surprise us with dinner. We’re adventurous eaters so said sure, surprise us. We had a most delicious dinner filled with pasta, seafood, different meats, along with wine pairings. It was simply terrific. Would highly recommend. Great food and great experience.
Look into my eyes
You will see
What Donnie means to me (and Patti)
We left our house at 5 am today and got to Charleston at 8 pm. Exhausted, we found a reservation open at Muse, and Donnie decided to pick out the most absolutely delicious food for us, and even threw in a shot and a dessert for us, since tomorrow is my birthday. We’ve only been in Charleston for 3 hours, and already feel at home! You MUST go to MUSE!
The food and ambiance were wonderful as always! This is where locals dine, and we are picky😁
The food was excellent, the kitchen a little slow but it's a pleasant, quiet place to wait.
Great date night! We really enjoyed our dinner:)
Lovely restaurant in beautiful house off the beaten path.
Mediterranean food served in lovely atmosphere.
Seated in small rooms.
Awful, rude service, food was nothing special and way overpriced for the quality level. Very disappointing!
So much fun!
Best service EVER! The food was great too. Ask for Donny(ie?), awesome, down to earth, hilarious guy.
Outstanding food and service!
Family wedding. Donnie was known by “host” family and treated us like royalty!
First time and not the last !! Being from New Orleans we are “foodies” and Muse ranks with our places back home. Food, service and wine was excellent !
Amazing dining experience. Like being in Paris. Ambiance was very romantic in the traditional French style. Cheese plate, braised short ribs and flourless chocolate torte were perfectly prepared. Service, spot on. Lovely restaurant to take your most special person.
Two story historic home tucked away down a side street. We stumbled upon it by accident and struck up a conversation with one of the employees out front. After hearing his description of the menu, wine bar and house we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. Tables were spaced apart. Staff wore masks. Great wine list. We had pumpkin ravioli (seasonal chef special) and chicken parmesan. The serving size was enough for 2 to share. Our waiter (Sam) was friendly and had a fun personality.
Great service and better value than many spots in Charleston. Lucky to get an outside reservation. Wine recommendation was perfect. Scallops were excellent and shrimp were vg too.
Older building; nothing special as to ambience. We were told we would be seated upstairs. Not particularly pleased about that (we are not young). Our server had to fetch everything downstairs and bring it up. It took a long time just to get what we wanted as a pre-dinner glass of wine. It arrived after the entrees.
Our server had little to no knowledge of the menu items. This is something management should provide. Sea bass was listed on the menu. I asked her if it was Chilean sea bass; she did not know. I ordered it and could not distinguish what it was, but definitely NOT sea bass. Some type of thick, tasteless fish. I asked her about it and she did not know. I asked for the manager. Eventually, he came to the table and admitted that they had other diners who experienced this and that perhaps they should make it more clear on the menu. He said they were allowed to call it sea bass. What?? After he left, a diner sitting near us said he ordered grouper, and that it was not grouper. In fact, it looked exactly like my "sea bass."
In fairness, my dining partner ordered one of the Italian dishes, and he said it was quite good.
Food was mediocre. I ordered the grouper but the fillet was very thin and small and grouper usually a thicker fish. It was also served cold and over cooked. The service was not attentive as the waitress was too busy.
Very slow service.
Rare date night with my wife. This was a great experience from start to finish. We walked in and someone immediately asked us if they could help. As they prepared our table no less than four others asked if they could help us. Donny asked if we had any dietary restrictions and if he could recommend our meals. We loved this approach! He brought us some unique and amazing cocktails. Two appetizers and two entrees that we licked the plates clean. Paired a couple fantastic wines and we finished with a great shared dessert. Muse, and more importantly, the staff are a gem of Charleston.
Very pleasant evening. Donnie was great and chose delicious food for us to try. We sat outside on the porch. We loved it.
Very congenial host. Food excellent. Made us happy notwithstanding very crowed night.
Food was just OK. The server seemed to be doing her best, but forgot a lot of things, needed many reminders. The worst was a large family of adults and children near, it was so loud we could hear each other talking which ruined the evening.
Warm and inviting atmosphere. Excellent service and food. We’ll be back!
One of my favorite restaurant experiences ever. Donnie was incredible, the food was amazing, and the rest of the staff was so great. Donnie was super great about dietary needs (I’m a vegetarian and he was awesome with his food selections for me). I cannot recommend this enough and SO glad we found this! The location was also pretty and historical, a great way to see the interior of these historic homes. Endless Kudos to Donnie and staff for an amazing birthday experience!
