Muse is one of my favorite restaurants In Charleston. The ambiance is amazing, the food is spectacular and the service is out of this world. Donny is amazing and will make sure you have the most incredible time at muse!
Visiting Charleston and booked our first nights dinner at Muse. It didn’t disappoint. Food was outstanding. Pumpkin ravioli especially wonderful as was the mezzo platter. Flourless chocolate cake for dessert was divine. Great experience!
Food and service were excellent. It was a busy night but the staff were still smiling and attentive.
We celebrated my wife's birthday. Everything was great, the food, the place, the attention. It was an excellent choice for this special day. We recommend it.
Food is spectacular. Old Chatleston vibes. Will be back.
I was disappointed. The bread they brought to the table for the olive oil could have been Wonder bread with sesame seeds.
The bruschetta bread was also soft, no crunch whatsoever. The spread on top was a little greasy with no real taste.
The shrimp was not cooked well and still had the clear color - not white. The brown sauce was to me a dense beef broth.
Wait staff were kind and efficient.
We had an 8pm reservation. No one came to the table until 8:10 to greet us. Bread was not offered as we had to request it. Entree arrived at almost 10pm. Hostess finally brought our bill a bitt after 10pm. Needless to say we did not order dessert! Very noisy patio!
One positive was that our food was fresh and hot.
So glad we chose Muse. Don took great care of us and made it a truly unique dining experience. Food and atmosphere were both first class. I will strongly recommend it to my friends that visit Charleston.
One dinner out of Five loved it....he ordered the daily special which was snapper over couscous. The steak I ordered came out medium and I ordered rare. Three people in our party ordered the Veal parmigiana, they described as dry. Went for business meeting, wine was good, overall food was okay, not remarkable. Food did not live up to the reviews I read previously.
We sat outside, which was very cozy and quiet. Service was great, food was amazing.
The reviews are true - food is incredible and so is Donnie (along with the other staff). Donnie ordered all of our food and gave us a memorable culinary experience. 10/10 would recommend.
Slow service, average food.
Overall not a bad experience, but not great.
Fantastic, food, service and ambience! Will definitely go again.
We visited Muse for my sisters bachelorette party and everyone had a great time. My favorite dishes were the duck appetizer and the Bolognese. Thanks, Donnie!!!
Donnie was awesome! We had a great time and enjoyed our dining experience.
We enjoyed our dinner at Muse. The food was good and we took advantage of eating outside. Recommend the outdoor patio area. Service was great - ask for Donnie.
Our server was so nice and he actually took our menus and asked us what we didn’t like. He then brought us out a bunch of different dishes that were all unique and amazing! We have never had that experience it was so much fun. Thanks again!
Great service, wonderful waitress, delicious food!!! Highly recommend!!
Everything was beyond amazing!
Muse is one of my top favorites! Always fabulous food and five star service! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Wow. What a great time we had at Muse. We started with the bruschetta, which was amazing!!! I ordered the catch of the day which was stuffed flounder and it was incredible. He ordered the veal scalloppine, also delicious. Our server was Sam and he was great! He was very knowledgeable about the wine and helped me find some delicious wines. Brandon made some delicious Old Fashioneds. We finished his birthday dinner with some Limoncello. We were both very pleased with the food, server and atmosphere. We will definitely be returning!!!
Donnie was our server. He was amazing. His service I must say was the best part of the experience.
The food and service was amazing! We will absolutely go back!!
Our server was so friendly and attentive. The food was amazing. Such a great experience all around. Will definitely go back if we are in the area.
A wonderful restaurant set in an historic house offers simply wonderful food. Prices range from moderate to more on the expensive but every dish is work it. We started with Meze Platter with hummus, olives, feta/cucumber/onion salad, baba gannoush and flat bread. A bargain at $15, shareable, and lovely way to start the meal.
Spinach ad ricotta ravioli with pine nuts, blistered baby tomatoes in a tomato cream sauce and tagliatelle bolognese with veal, pork and beef ragu were so good.
Our waiter was friendly, efficient and professional. He also for all our order and once and he would keep the courses timed. He did. Great service
The chicken parmigiana was very good
Ahi stack was excellent
Asparagus risotto was great
Nice wine list
Great way to spend anniversary and birthday and very close to Barksdale Inn which I would highly recommend
The food was incredible, our waiter, Sam, was so friendly and attentive. The place is quaint and personal, the whole experience was super cool, definitely must go.
The venue was wonderful. It's very historic and beautiful. The food was excellent and the service was very good. Our server was very helpful and knowledgeable about the original house.
Very noisy. Food was over cooked and service should improve.
So happy I found Muse when I was looking for a restaurant to accommodate 11 of us for dinner.
The restaurant is in a cool, funky historical house with both outdoor and indoor dining in several little rooms. It was hopping when we arrived and still was when we left.
We dined by ourselves in a top floor room that was lovely and felt transported back in time.
Our server Sam was very attentive and managed to serve all of us efficiently and charmingly. We chatted with the equally charming owner Donny.
We began with drinks from the classic cocktail list and each one was amazing.
We all enjoyed our starters: heirloom tomato salad, mussels, shrimp cocktail and Bibb salad and our entrees: veal parmigiana, chicken parmigiana, tagliatelle Bolognese, veal scallopini, fettuccine carbonara, scallops and all the accompaniments were delicious. Good wine list too.
We were all very pleasantly satisfied so had no room for dessert….maybe next time because we’ll be back.
You won’t be disappointed if you visit Muse.
Thanks for a great evening Donny and Sam!
Donni did a great job! We loved our food and wine and had a great time at dinner! We all (party of 6) left and all agreed it was the perfect meal.
The best meal we've had in a while. Make sure Donnie is working when you go! He ordered our whole meal for us and we did a family style experience to make sure we didn't miss anything good! From our drinks to dessert, our group of 7 didn't have to make a single decision the whole night and somehow each app/entrée was better than the last! It was HEAVEN!
Donny and Steph were the best! They made the entire experience wonderful and personal. Food was off the charts. Highly recommend a stop at Muse!!!! LOVVVEEEEE
Was told making reservations at restaurants in Charleston would be difficult. Made them at Muse about one week in advance. Located downtown between Meeting and King, the restaurant is in an old converted house with seating outdoor in the entry vestibule, downstairs adjacent to the bar and upstairs in two smaller rooms. We were seated in the piano room at one of three tables. Beautiful original coffered ceiling that had original painted Victorian scenes. Service was very good. Wine list decent and the menu had enough variety to please anyone. We had the veal scalopinni with polenta which was very good and the tagliatelle bolognese which was excellent. The bolognese was very authentic with the subtle flavors of the celery and carrots throughout the sauce of veal, pork and beef. Very good wine list. We had the Nero d’Avola which is my favorite wine from Sicily. Terrific evening with great food and service.
Chose at the last minute without much to go on other than availability and location. Was excellent all around and felt very Charleston, from the venue (an old house) to the southern hospitality (waiter, Donny). Had duck and caprese salad appetizers followed by bolognese and scallops. Delicious. All in with 3 glasses of wine and dessert was a good value for nice dinner in the city.
Great service from Donnie. Food was deliciously prepared and would be delighted to return again. Parking was easily found on the street close by.
I make it a point to go to Muse every time I’m in Charleston. Food is absolutely fabulous!!
Great dining experience. Accommodated a large group and everything was great
