Everything about Muse is great. We happened to be seated next to 4 individuals who felt that it was game time. Almost shouting with some profane language made it a less than enjoyable experience.
We still love Muse, but this was unbearable. Couldn’t wait to leave
A gem of a place! I will definitely be back.
The restaurant has a ton of Charm and we had a wonderful time. The recommendations were excellent and we would stop back again.
We sat outside in about 48 degree weather and it was extremely pleasant! Their outdoor seating is in a a beautiful book away from wind with warm heaters!
I had been at Muse on three occasions prior to last night, and had very nice experiences. Last night, Valentines day, was not up to par. Perhaps the night was too busy for them.
Amazing menu and execution. Great service. Will be back to taste eveelsemon the menu!
Excellent service, especially with wine recommendations. Food was good but portions are on the smaller side. Not a huge fan of the antique setting but my wife enjoyed that. Go later at night for the best "vibe"
Noise level was very, very high. Food was OK but not outstanding. Service was good. After reading the rave reviews we were a little disappointed.
Amazing food. Love the decor. Such a great place. It’s a staple every time I’m in Charleston.
Lovely intimate dining. The food was fabulous! My entree was the sea scallops over risotto and my husband had the lamb chop, both dishes excellent and the presentation of the food, beautiful. I started off with the Bette cocktail. mmm delicious. I must try to make it at home. We shared the tomato callabrese appetizer which had a mozzarella cheese called burrata, which was new for us and quite creamy and more flavorful than ordinary mozzarella. The service was flawless. We highly recommend getting reservations and treating yourself to an exquisite dining experience.
Service and ambiance was great! I was disappointed in the appetizers (cheese plate and duck), but our meals were delicious.
Celebrated my wife's 60th birthday at Muse. A very special dinner that exceeded every expectation. Wonderful food and the very best service. I give Muse my strongest personal recommendation. Enjoy!
Had a great dinner last night at Muse! Started out with the Merguez Sausage appetizer which was very tasty, then for dinner I had the Veal Scaloppini and my husband had the Lamb Chops both dinners were excellent. The service was wonderful and we really loved the atmosphere. Muse is definitely on the top of my list for dining experiences in Charleston.
Had a wonderful dinner at Muse. It's a beautifully done older building in what used to be a dentist's office on the ground floor and residence above. We very much enjoyed the atmosphere of the setting. The only fifteen side was it was a little bit tight. Thre food was delicious. I started with the potatoe soup with an English chedder ale infused cheese. I would have locked the bowl if I was at home. My wife had the Meze platter with hummus, olives, and marinated vegetables along with an ample supply of pitas. She was kind enough to share so I can say that was also very good. The main course was a difficult decision because so much on the menu looked enticing. I settled on the piah since I don't usually get that. My wife got the crispy fish. My fish came with scallops and shrimp grilled deliciously along with mussels over saffron rice. My wife's fish wad excellent too although i only got one bite of that. Along with 2 glasses of malbec out was a delicious meal topped off with a tasty chop of coffee and a wonderful pomegranate and pistachio dessert. Oh, I don't want to forget our server, Todd. He was terrific. Very personable, knowledgeable of the menu, and willing to make suggestions. All told for appetizers, dinner, dessert, 2 glasses of wine, 2 glasses of ginger ale, and coffee and a cappuccino the bill came to $155 including tip.
We had dinner before the Three Dog Night concert the other night. We should have stayed at Muse! The concert was terrible but our meal at Muse was awesome! Jenny was our waitress and her husband Rob was the sommelier. We couldn’t have asked for better food, service and conversation. Muse is a great place and we will be back!
The service was excellent and the ambiance was great. The food was below our expectations. We were there Restaurant Week and ordered off that menu. The food appeared to have been prepared in advance and warmed up. I wonder if our experience would have been different if we had ordered off the main menu.
Service, specifically the waiter, was exceptional.
The food was excellent, and the bar tender was great.
Amazing experience. The food was great, the service was good and the atmosphere is pleasant. Would love to go back again and will soon!
We had a wonderful experience at Muse during restaurant week! The food was creative and tasty! Our waiter was wonderful and so helpful!
Maybe. Food was good but starters and main course were stone cold. And very noisy. They did comp which was appreciated.
Muse is a very energetic fun restaurant. The food was excellent. Everything we had we was well prepared. We were there during restaurant week so the service was a little uneven but we enjoyed ourselves. We sat out on the patio with the heaters on (it was a pretty cold evening) and we were quite comfortable. It was also very loud inside the restaurant so we enjoyed the quiet outside with the few other hearty diners. It’s in a great part of town and we enthusiastically would recommend it if you are visiting.
Great service, ambiance was wonderful being that you are in an old Charleston house. Restaurant Week menu was delicious. Get the Sweet Potato Gnocchi!
the dishes took extremely long to get to the table. we sat down at 6:40 and got our entrees at 8!
the table next to us was very loud, if the outside seating was more open it would've helped with that
Chose Muse as a new experience during Restaurant Week based on menu. Was not disappointed. Enjoyed cheese fondue appetizer, shrimp and mussels paella, and pomegranate triffle for dessert. All were very tasty and different.
We have had wonderful food at Muse in the past, but not this time. The bread that came out was gummy and not cooked. The main course was SUPPOSED to be cassoulet, but what we were served was lamb broth and a few pieces of meat, but no beans—a main component of that dish. We were compensated on our bill with no charge for our wine, but we would rather have had the food that sounded so good on the menu but came out very disappointing.
Very good experience in an old historic house with excellent food. Service was very good at the table but we waited at least 5 minutes at the hostess stand until someone showed up to help us (we had a res). So, overall, excellent food, very good ambiance, and good service.
Great house concerted into a wonderful place to dine and or relax. Extensive menu, great food and drink and personable staff! Bravo!!
Pretty good food for restaurant week. However, waited in hall for about 5 mins on arrival before anyone acknowledged us, which does not leave a good impression, and space seems cramped.
Fantastic meal . Great food, wine and service. We enjoyed restaurant week specials and items from the regular menu.
The food bland, fresh bread was raw in middle, and waitress was rude and flighty. I think she was serving the entire upstairs. 4 of us ordered different foods which were all served over the same parsnip puree. There are so many better restaurants downtown.
A great place for a night out with the girls!

Seated right away. Atmosphere is cool in an old house. Service was pretty good and quick. Food was great.
The staff and ambiance was great but for the price can’t make up for the lackluster food quality. Scallops undercooked, steak full of gristle, pasta blah, etc.
Bartender very knowledgeable, good food, excellent service.
We arrived early. The restaurant is in a historic home. We were seated on the second floor. Beautiful decor. Lovely menu with extensive wine list. Loved our steak and lobster tail. We’ll be back!
We really enjoyed our dinner there. The atmosphere had a cool vibe in the house. Next time in Charleston we will definitely dine there and recommend to others.
It was our first time going to Muse...we had the New Year’s Eve dinner. The atmosphere was wonderful our server was right on time. The starters were delicious. I had the Baked Oysters my friend had the Beef Carappio. My entrée was the Fillet Mignon my friend had the Pork Chop. She ate about three bites and said it was too tough and chewy but did not want to complain or send it back. My steak was delicious. We decided to box her pork chop and I would eat it for lunch the next day. I tried to eat it the following day for lunch but found it to be very fatty with a lot of gristle. It was really unedible. I ended up giving it to my dog he seemed to enjoy it. All in all I would say the atmosphere and service was excellent but the food and price not so much.
Awesome! Will come again!
Waiter was incredibly knowledgeable regarding the menu and made wonderful wine pairing suggestions! Food was absolutely delicious and we had such an enjoyable evening!
