As visitors from Europe we were looking for a nice restaurant without the usual dull food like hamburgers and pizza. We were not disappointed at all... We had a fantastic evening, with really good, colourfull and healthy food, several very kind waiters and a breathtaking view on a wild cascade with a blue heron quietly looking for prey. We can recommend this place to everyone. Not too expensive.
We had a very nice evening here. Minor complaints would be: duck was tough and service seemed a little disorganized. Coffee was included in Table D'Hote but I was charged for espresso. It should have been mentioned that this was not included - on a $400 bill it seemed petty to have been charged extra. These are the little things that kept the experience from being fabulous.
We have always enjoyed Sunday brunch at the Mill in the main restaurant. This Mother’s Day we tried out the brunch and were pleasantly surprised at being seated in the glassed area at the bar level. We felt less packed in, the noise was reduced and the staff were fabulously attentive since they had fewer table. Wonderful time!
The view from our table was nothing less than breathtaking. The waterfalls were at full force. It was Sunday brunch. The food was excellent and our server Frederic was attentive and engaging. It was a meal to remember.
I don’t eat out very often have become bit of a home cook. No chef by any means but it’s my passion. I was so blown away by this restaurant. Outside of the incredible atmosphere, the raging waterfall out the window by our table and the rustic comforting feel. The service was impeccable. The food on the other hand was the best meal I have ever eaten. We chose the Muze menu. We were given a free starter before appetizer and from there to the desert was like nothing I have ever experienced. It was a meal I have not stoped thinking about and will never forget. I want to thank the chef for the masterpiece that was delivered to us.
The view was amazing with the spring runoff, and the extra little touches were appreciated
The dining experience at the Muse is definitely a fine dining type. We thoroughly enjoyed our entire time at the restaurant. The service and scene were great! The noise level was perfect for civil conversations. The food was absolutely amazing and tasted fresh. I would definitely recommend this spot for special occasions and for foodies.
Went for Easter brunch. For $50 a person, there was lots of food and a good selection. Very nice sitting in the glass open section, did not like having a table for 2 set up for 3. Too crammed in...
The was excellent and the background with the falls as well :)
The service and menu options were outstanding. The service was not rushed and they made us feel very welcomed and relaxed throughout our meal.
It was pretty loud being beside a large group but the food and service was absolutely wonderful! Great experience!
The service was fantastic, the food was delicious especially the polenta that accompanied the guinea fowl it was the best part of the meal! The ambiance was great for a romantic dinner for two. Will go back again.
I would recommend Muse to a friend, but it's not the kind of place I'd tell people they must visit - the value just isn't really there. While the restaurant itself is quite nice, it's a bit strange to be dining in a finer establishment and have people in bathrobes walking by on their way to the sauna. The food was good but then again, at that price point, it should be. What it's not, however, is exceptional.
My bf and I really love this place. They have perfect food and amazing views. As well as, their service was perfect.
The Muse at Wakefield Mill is a cozy warm romantic spot with great food and friendly knowledgeable staff.
Such a beautiful setting, overlooking the falls. Amazing hospitality, the staff were lovely. The food was incredible!! Perfectly cooked and presented. From the salad to dessert it was an amazing experience we won't forget. Thanks for the complimentary sparkling wine to help us toast our anniversary 🍾

We had amazing meals at the Wakefield Mill, for breakfast, lunch and supper. All meals were carefully prepared, tasty tasty and beautifully presented. Our servers especially Nancy and Yan, were polite, friendly and not intrusive. Loved the experience.
Superb service and lovely atmosphere, especially with the view of the snow and waterfall. Very good food, however, the choices for a vegetarian rather limited. Also the wine list (wine by a glass) not very long, could be more versatile. Fantastic cheese plate!
The prices on line for the brunch are incorrect. $35.00 per person for brunch is expensive for so-so food. Nothing exceptional about the food are restaurant.
Very nice restaurant, food was good, service was ok, wine selection was limited. Overall still a very nice experience.
Cozy atmosphere and lovely view of the snow covered river from the solarium. My Arctic char was outstanding...crispy skin, moist inside served with a delicious but not overpowering sauce. I would have liked more vegetables, but those served were good. I loved the chocolate trio trio dessert. Service was very professional.
Bel accueil, service exceptionnel, excellent repas, menu bien adapté pour la St-Valentin
We had a gorgeous anniversary dinner here, in an absolutely stunning environment, overlooking the waterfall. It was a delicious three course meal, mine with a wine pairing for each course. The plates were beautifully presented, with fantastic flavour combinations, and everything cooked perfectly. The service was lovely, and it was a Sunday evening, so the restaurant was quite quiet and peaceful. Not only would we come back here and recommend it to a friend, we sat at the breakfast table the next morning and talked about what a great space the hotel would be for a wedding!
Starter (lobster bisque main course (both fish) very good; dessert (3 chocolate good; crème brûlée not very good: sugar too thick and burned, the crème itself was made with too many eggs, tasted like a “flan”, not a cream, real vanilla was missing).
Very good service with young professional waitstaff. Professional uniform (waitstaff wear ties).
Manager/supervisor not very professional, wrinkled jacket, no tie, did not make eye contact with customers, saw him twice during the evening, brought wrong plates to a table. For sure he was not the one who trained the excellent wait staff.
Best restaurant in Ottawa and surroundings.
Good brunch also on Sunday morning.
This was a superb dining experience! The service was exceptional, the dinner wonderful and the setting beyond compare. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!
Our full course meal for two was exactly what we hoped for and more. Quality, portions, and service were spot on, and the bottle of wine was perfect for the meal. The giant wood burning double fireplace and winter decor was certainly part of an excellent experience. Definitely expensive, but you get what you pay for. Certainly plan on coming back...and they helped us boost our car battery!
Went to Wakefield for a nite on our 5th yr anniversary, great atmosphere, great view. Definitely a good spot for a date.
Absolutely fantastic from beginning to end. The food is incredible and so well thought out. From the appetizer to the palate cleanser to dessert. Our server was perfect. Friendly, knowledgeable and we felt like she truly enjoyed her job (wish I remembered her name!) We will be back for sure. Thank you!
We went to Wakefield Mill and Muse for our mini honeymoon weekend and we were treated excellently. Food was so delicious and fancier than expected, but still well-sized portions...we left full and happy. Staff was excellent, treated us very attentively, even brought us celebratory champagne! Definitely worth the visit and every penny!
We enjoyed our dinner ver much. The Arctic char was perfect right down to the crispy skin. A great flavour experience with everything we tried. I would have loved more bread (had to ask for a second small piece each) and larger portions of vegetables, but overall a very classy, perfectly prepared meal.
Excellent dinner for atmosphere and food quality. Outstanding service. Will certainly go back.
Excellent service - Food was divine - Very romantic dinning experience by the falls
FOOD: Apps were great, then we waited just under 2 hours for the mains (char & duck). Crab cakes were still frozen on the inside, fish was super dry, and I had to wait another 10 minutes for my plate to get fixed. At that point, my date had finished their meal so I was eating alone. We skipped out on dessert and were generally disappointed especially as this was an extravagant expense for us.
SERVICE: Waiter tried their best to remedy the situation. He ended up comp'ing our drinks and offered us a cheese plate, which we didn't take but appreciated the offer.
We had a so-so experience the next morning with the buffet. Waited about 10 mins before anyone greeted us. I think the restaurant needs some more management.
Christmas Eve dinner at The Muse was amazing! It was magical to drive through the snow to the bright lights of the Wakefield Inn. The food and service was great. Highly recommend.
Arriving at the Inn sets the stage for a wonderful evening ! Well appointed and tastefully decorated. The staff are attentive, well trained and professional and took care of our wine and beer choices throughout the stay. The starter charcuterie board was most enjoyable and delightfully set up our pending dinner in Muse. We were greeted by Ian and were seated in my table of choice along the great window views overlooking the rapids and river that flows by the inn. Dinner was once again a true enjoyment, both by excellent ambiance and a fantastic, well chosen choice offerings by the chef!
I cannot thank you enough for another excellent evening! Ladies in the Spa, absolutely well done as well!
Went for Sunday brunch with friends. Two of us ordered a sparkling wine. When it came, we felt that it wasn’t cold enough. Instead of proposing to replace our drinks, we were told that there was no more downstairs. She would have to check with upstairs. Since we had tasted the wine, the server said she did not want to throw the contents away, therefore, she proposed to put our deonks in the freezer for a few minutes. By the time the deink returned, a lot of the bubbles were lost. She then proceeded to fill the glasses, after saying there was no more.
For me the response was inappropriate and unprofessional.
As for the food, it was good but not worth 35$.
We were a group of 7 ladies celebrating our annual Xmas gathering!! We have been here before and requested a table by the windows, which was kindly accommodated! Our server NANCY was excellent and very personable. The food was delicious and varied. The chef on the omelettes and crepes station was humorous and attentive. We arrived early (9:30am) when it was quiet. As it filled up it was a little more challenging to access the food but not noisy! Happy Holidays!
Very attentive staff and excellent dishes. Our experience really could not have been better.
Beautiful setting, attentive waitress who was present but now hovering, with delicious food. Every course was better than expected and elegantly presented. Great wine pairing suggestion. The ambience was perfect as we could see, hear, and feel the rushing water outside.
