I’ve been coming to MTK for many years and there have not been that many great restaurants. The food at Muse was excellent and hopefully will be around for a long time. Great ambiance at the bar too
We’ve been going to Muse for years. First in Water Mill, then in Sag Harbor. We were sad to see the Sag location close. We were in Montauk and figured we would go to Muse.
We weee immediately turned off by the hostesses who sat us at a table in the middle by 2 large parties. There were plenty of open tables but they would not move us as they said they were reserved or they where holding them to move for larger parties. When we left most of those tables weee still available.
The food was good, but not as good as it was in the past. Also, the inventive menu was different. My wife had mussels, which weren’t as good as they were in the past and watermelon salad. I had the Arrancinni which were good and chicken pan smells tbat was also good, but not prepared like a traditional panzanella.
I think based on our experience at the front end, we will not be back
Food was excellent and Abby was exceptional. Will always make this a regular stop when in Montauk
My wife and I having been dining at the Muse for the past 3 summers and we always love it.This past week we headed back again and decided to go early for a drink at the bar before dinner.Everything seemed fine until my wife asked the bartender for a specific drink.Mind you,it’s nothing complicated ,only 4 ingredients which I saw were readily available for the gentleman tending bar . His response to her request”I’m not making that tonight,it’s a Tuesday and I’m not in the mood”
As you can imagine we were shocked by his reply and being that my wife is nonconfrontational she asked me to let it go.I couldn’t believe a bartender in a pricey establishment could be so obnoxious to paying customers.Needless to say she ordered something else and we proceeded to sit for dinner.Minus the bartender ,The Muse was once again solid with food and waitress service.Just a shame the night had to be started on a sour note
Very nice staff, good food and just relaxed atmosphere overall!
The food was very good. Looking forward to returning.
The food was excellent - the service outstanding, from the hostess to the wait staff.
We had a delightful meal!!! I had the special of the day, which was tile-fish - delicious. My husband was all set to order the pork chops, then saw the hamburger at the next table!!! It was fabulous. He said it was one of the best burgers he's ever had - and French fries were superb. Our waitress could not have been more gracious. All in all - a great evening!
The staff was amazing. They knew that a large party was going to be seated near us so they moved us so we wouldn’t be bothered by them. Our appetizers were excellent and plentiful. Coming in first place by all at the table were the Mexican street corn poppers, so flavorful with just the right amount of spice. Next was a tie between the pork belly skewers and the Asiago & Chorizo ARANCINI. The watermelon salad with arugula and feta was also very tasty. The pork chop was delicious and was quickly devoured by my son. The tuna poke was also very good. My other son had a cheese burger that was prepared to his liking with nothing on it. The chicken panzanella was delicious yet there was not enough chicken on the plate. Overall a great meal with wonderful flavors.
Drinks were very good and strong! Loved the BLT chopped salad. Had small plates of scallop mac& cheese, risotto balls with chorizo and pork bellies. All were delicious!
Loved this place.. great vibe, great food, super friendly staff! Will definitely recommend and be going back
Birthday for my wife.
Lovely quiet white tablecloth but relaxed venue. Food was superb. Service excellent. Even so-called “small plates” are large portions. Really nice.
Stellar service, delicious food, beautiful decor!!!!
Usually I go to restaurants and think, I could make this.
Not so at Muse. Food was cooked to perfection. So much flavor - and I'm not talking about salt, I'm talking about flavor. Every bite made you want another - food really told a nice story from app to dessert. Menu was creative without going overboard or being too trendy. Top three dinner establishments in Montauk.
We went for my wife’s birthday and had a fantastic experience. The food was great, three of us had the striped bass special be aware it is blackened.
Our waitress was Jessica from Ireland very nice and paid attention to us without being in the way.
She helped us have a wonderful time and would definitely return.
The staff was very nice. Relaxing, light and airy atmosphere. It took too long for our drink order to come out. The appetizer came and we were still waiting for our first drinks. This should never happen. If this did not occur then 4 stars, but not 5 because the fish special was over cooked, and the dessert took too long to come out especially considering it was an obviously pre-made dessert (key lime cheesecake) - delicious. The cauliflower appetizer was delicious and a promising start.
The food was very good but the portion size was not worth the price. I did really enjoy the watermelon martini especially the glass. Those martini glasses are a pain so this glass was perfect.
Muse is our favorite restaurant here. The entire staff are friendly and helpful. The food is always great.
Beautiful place with very innovative use of local ingredients. Overall the food lacked any great taste.
We were a party of 6, on vacation in Montauk, and each of us ordered something different. Each of us thoroughly enjoyed our appetizer, entree and dessert. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Wine was reasonably priced, although the selection was not large for a restaurant with food of this caliber. Montauk has only a few restaurants of this quality, and I hope that Muse can find a sustaining audience. In all, a delightful evening. .
Great overall dining experience. Entertainment in bar was great as well as our dinner
I enjoyed my food, the appetizer and main were very satisfying and well prepared. My husband did not enjoy his dish. The cocktails were not good but they have a good wine selection. I would definitely come back when I'm out east again.
Thoroughly enjoyed my meal at Muse last weekend.
Our server, Angel, was incredibly attentive.
This was my first time at Muse and the food quality exceeded my expectations.
The Cauliflower fritters and the calamari were wonderful.
I had the fish of the day and the preparation was outstanding.
We're looking forward to returning.
Muse is a fitting name for this delightful Montauk hotspot as its menu and culinary expertise deliver on true gastronomical pleasure! Service and ambiance make this more than a restaurant, but a true palatable and social experience. Props!
We had a most lovely evening!
Everything was so pleasant! Food was delicious!
Place is great. Food is fantastic.
Overall a good meal but a not worth it for the high prices for what you get. Ordered a blackened swordfish special which was a thin, a small portion, and in no way blackened. Other diners received similar anemic portions . Red wine was served very warm but the waitress offered to put in cold bath for the balance of the bottle. All in all, I would be hard pressed to return.
Muse @ the end was a great find! We were seated promptly and the wait staff, as well as the hostess, checked on us several times throughout our meal. We were very impressed with the food, drinks and dessert. There was also live music in the bar on the side of the restaurant which made for a nice addition. We ate at some other restaurants during our stay in Montauk that were ok, but left us wishing we had gone back to Muse instead. If you are visiting Montauk, you have to eat here.
I was disappointed in Muse. Although we had a reservation, our table was located close to the kitchen and my husband was bumped repeatedly, and the air conditioner was dripping on him. We found the service to be rushed and the vegetables on our dinner plates were under seasoned. We will not be returning.
My son and I had a quick Montauk getaway to celebrate his 11th birthday. There was enough on the menu for him to enjoy, plenty for me and the servers could not be more upbeat and accommodating. What a lovely, delish experience. Beachy, dressy/casual vibe . . .and the bar looked very inviting as far as decor for a date night drink and a (younger than me!) sophisticated crowd/date.
We have eaten here numerous times and have never been disappointed. The food is excellent and the staff is caring and friendly.
Our first time to this restaurant. Hadn’t been to Montauk in a few years but had been to this location when it was under different management. Excellent service, great food and portion sizes. Highly recommend. Fish was extremely fresh.
Everything was absolutely delicious and had great gluten free options, which is hard to find sometimes! Will
Defoe rly be back!
My favorite Montauk restaurant. Excellent appetizer and entree choices. Great service. We highly recommend Muse!
Usually go to Muse with only adults. This time it was a birthday dinner with 4 adults and a 9 month old. Everyone was wonderful and made us feel very welcome. Has happy hour drinks in the bar area first and then went to the restaurant side for dinner. As usual the food was very good and service was above and beyond. Servers loved the baby and made sure we were well taken care of. Three had their excellent Prix Fix and one had the Tile Fish, which I've had before and is highly recommended. Lynn Blue Band playing in the bar area added to the great night.
We had an awesome experience...each of the staff was friendly and helpful. The food was OUTSTANDING! The portions were generous and divine-tasting. The restaurant is very attractive and quiet...I did not feel like I was in Montauk right off Main Street. We were treated thoughtfully and loved every aspect of the time spent at Muse @the end. Attentive Muse staff made an incredible meal even better.
The Muse is a gem with huge portions and wonderful service. Our waitress was so informative and I think her name was Gabrielle. This was our second visit this week. Try it I think you will enjoy it. A must for us when we are in Montauk!
Very disappointed. Wait staff never came by to ask how our food was, they seemed too focused on redoing tables. When they cleared away our food not one comment about the fact that I ate less than 50% of my burger (which was charred) and only ate like 3 fries (which were dry as dust).
I expected more.
Lovely dinner, excellent food. The service was great and Jill, the manager, was lovely and most efficient! Will be dining there again tonight!
We visited on Father’s Day for dinner. We all enjoyed the varied menu. Great service.
