We were disappointed to find the change in operation of the restaurant from what it was during the several times we had dinner at the Muse in the past. It used to be that we had an opportunity to serve ourselves from a variety of small plates laid out on large tables, plus the opportunity to be served the meat of the day from the carving station.

Last year, Muse WAS a great option for a fine dining experience before a Symphony concert - with interesting and well-prepared buffet and great service. NOW they have changed to a lounge-style environment, with only lounge-style low tables, far less food choices (pretty much just small plates) and poor ambiance. The food is still good, but with so few choices we had trouble creating a full meal. WE WON’T BE BACK.

They made a significant change in the restaurant, and it wasn’t a good one. They had a very strange lounge type, set up with couches and arm chairs with small round tables that didn’t make sense for dining. Poor use of space …sometimes designers try to get too creative for their own good. I was also sad to see the variety smell plate serve yourself style restaurant option go away. That was a little quirky in itself but at least you didn’t walk away hungry. We spent $180 and felt like we had eaten nothing. And it was just my girlfriend and I there for a girls night out. neither one of us are big eaters but we still felt like after the show, we needed to go out to grab a bite because we were both hungry from the very light dinner. Go to wild Ginger next-door. You’ll have a full dinner and then some to take home after for the same price and it’s just across the street. Almost as convenient.

Our party of 4 was disappointed with the new dining room and menu. The crab cakes were mostly filler and lacked flavor and seasoning. The wild rice and corn fritter was prepared nicely but lacked flavor. The seared tuna was just okay. The wine listing is more limited than previously. Cocktail prices are very high. The menu options are quite limited and seem overpriced for what is offered. The best thing about Muse is the location for concert nights.

Muse had a wonderful concept last year with an elegant buffet format. They jettisoned that winning program for terrible table placement and random small bites which do not add up to a meal. I will not be returning.

We chose this place because it was there at the symphony hall and we could relax and not rush after dinner to see the performance. It's a really nice, elegant place! The food was a bit bigger than appetizer but small plate sized. There were three in our party and we ordered the sliders (2 mid size), the macaroni and cheese, the Brussel Sprouts (amazing!) and the Frites and all shared. We also ordered a few of the desserts. We were STUFFED! It was just enough to fill us up. My ONLY complaint was that everything was REALLY salty. I felt like I was chugging a lot of water for that, but otherwise everything tasted fantastic. And their cocktails were wonderful! Our server was very sweet and took great care of us. We didn't feel rushed and actually ended up staying about 1 hour and 40 minutes! Time flew by. I would definitely recommend before a concert!

Its lovely for folks with hearing aids and mobility issues, but doesn't feel lively enough to attract a younger crowd. Maybe more tables, and not just around the edges of the large room.

It was the perfect place for a quick bite and drink prior to the symphony. The staff was awesome. I wish there were a few more options in the menu but overall solid. Can’t comment on the price because Seattle is generally overpriced so this seemed in line with that.

We scheduled a reservation for a pre-performance dinner. Our request was confirmed and we got a request the day before to reconfirm the reservation which we did. We showed up and found out the restaurant was not open that night. I assume this was a system glitch that incorrectly showed the restaurant being open when in fact it wasn’t. I recommend calling the restaurant to confirm their hours before assuming anything online.

We were somewhat disappointed with the new format. Portions were small and the selection was limited. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Seats were OK, but somewhat difficult for persons with mobility issues, and there were basically no alternatives. We will likely seek an alternative for dining before our next concert. A small paper cup of ice cream for desert just doesn't cut it -- especially at Muse's prices.

Perfect. Now what about an intermission table?? No, really fantastic. The Chef undersold it. Luv it all!!

Muse is a restaurant located within Benaroya Symphony Hall - but you wouldn't know it unless you did what I did, and awkwardly catch the attention of a beleaguered security guard at the entrance. There is no sign, and nothing to clearly guide patrons to the restaurant itself. It was a low-key speakeasy, sans metal door with eye-slot, and a gruff bouncer asking you, "Who sent you?" The amuse-bouche we received after being seated was an uninspired dish of stale hummus on a cracker. Well, I could have done better at home. Next! The appetizers were a little better, with salmon, lamb and vegetables and such on offer - but again, nothing particularly memorable. The entree featured two parts: a "chef's table" offering of brisket, followed closely by a pork tenderloin. To be sure, all the ingredients for every dish were superb: the Pacific Northwest takes second to none when it comes to produce, seafood, and meat (San Francisco, take note: the quality of your food is disappointing, at best). But this was simply catering, the kind of food one would expect to encounter at a "rubber chicken" affair. And the brisket, sadly, was dry and flavourless. Rubbery would have been an improvement. The tenderloin was cooked to absolute, medium rare perfection - but was, again, unremarkable. The two best things about this meal were the server (she was charming and delightful; I tipped her quite well, as I do for ALL servers), and the prix-fixe pricing. Desert was just cloying, and the coffee was (gasp!) watery. Shameful for Seattle - I've had better coffee in a low-rent Tacoma hotel serving free breakfast. Muse should consider changing its name to "Meh." (And please, lose the portrait of the Benaroyas, glowering down on everyone as if admonishing them to eat their vegetables and sit up straight. Creepy.)

Convenient location, if you are going to be attending a concert at Benaroya. The set up is such that you will make it there on time. However, due to the fact that the menu is largely a buffet, first of cold small salads and crudites of various kinds and then a variety of prepared desserts, the food has been sitting around for awhile. It is pretty to look at but no really fresh choices. The way the menu is set up, one chooses a main course in addition to the above. That choice is cooked while one eats from the first buffet. We chose the Atlantic fresh farmed salmon with risotto, which was only okay. Due to all many choices in the two buffet areas, I could have managed without the main course, at a lower price, but that didn't seem to be a choice. The service was very nice and the location and ambiance are nice too.

Interesting modified buffet format. Entrees that come from the kitchen are better and fresher than what sits out on the buffet. Very classy looking room that the kitchen can do justice to, but forcing customers into the limiting (and expensive) buffet choices is a turn off.

Wonderful food, convenient for shows at Benaroya. We get series season tickets every year. My only complaint is that someone from Muse or Benaroya should be ready at 5:50 to allow patrons in for their 6pm reservations at Muse. On more than one occasion we’ve been stuck outside on the sidewalk in extremely cold windy weather, knocking for a few minutes and waving someone down inside. Other times, same scenario while someone is selling drugs 10 feet away at the bus stop. Not the safest spot to be hanging around outside waiting to be let in so you’re on time for your dinner reservation….Just a thought - in consideration of your patrons.

We have never been disappointed with the pre-selected menu and really enjoy the quiet atmosphere and the ability to dine for 90min before our show. We never feel rushed and enjoyed the banter with the knowledgeable staff. My favorite is the to go cups to bring into the symphony if we aren’t able to finish our drinks with dinner or coffee with dessert ! 💗

My friends and I have recently been coming to Muse for nice dinners before concerts at Benaroya Hall. Easy reservations, good selection of food, impeccable service, and reasonable pricing for the location and convenience. Pricing as of April 2023 is two-tiered: “Forte” $45 (unlimited small plates, an entree from the kitchen or chef’s/carving station, and dessert); “Crescendo” $60 (unlimited small plates, an entree from the kitchen, chef’s/carving station, and dessert).

always a relaxing thing to do if you are going to the symphony. Even if you are not attending the concert it is worth doing. Good food, good value. The absolute best and friendly service. If you have had a bad experience (before Covid) with slow service and sometimes no food in time for the concert you owe it to yourself to try this new concept.

Muse is a GREAT place to enjoy dinner when attending Benaroya Hall. I recently discovered it (after many years of attending!) and has become a favorite. It will continue to be, definitely. The ambiance is great. The views with those great windows towards the city and part of the bay is beautiful. Maybe because of the low flow, the tables have a lot of space between them which gives a sense of openness and privacy. The high ceilings help too. Understanding the menu choices is a bit confusing (to me) and maybe could be simpler (again, for me). The food is good, solid good. But not exceptional. The price, strictly for the food seems high by quite a bit. The service, on the other hand, is truly exceptional. Be ready to be treated like royalty. So, considering the whole thing: location, ambiance, food, service, value, I give it 4, maybe 4.5 stars.
