Welcome to Murray's Restaurant. Minneapolis' original restaurant for steak since 1946 & home of the award winning Silver Butterknife Steak dinner for two. Also known for mouth watering garlic toast, Hickory Smoked shrimp appetizer, and home baked pies. Well into its third generation of family ownership, Murray's stands out among local and out of town diners alike as a true Twin Cities landmark & continues to provide the best in food and service as it did in 1946.

The appetizers and steak were below the standard I would expect from an established steakhouse. Service was good though.

Awesome place! Bone-in fillet melted in the mouth. Sides were delicious. Nice wine list, but have to search for value. Overall, great for business dinners.

Our waiter has been there 20+ years and was fantastic. We loved the ambience and the quiet jazzy music. Perfect to celebrate my birthday. Pace of the meal was perfect and the food was exquisite. My daughter and I fell in love with the crab cakes and the au gratin potatoes! Also recommend branching out and trying the squash- delicious! Loaded hash browns great. HIGHLY recommend.

Disappointed with this restaurant. Garlic bread, steak was overpowered with salt. Mashed potatoes were cold and not seasoned at all.

Really excited to go to Murray’s, I had been there once before and was delicious. But this time was different. We had a reservation and had to wait 15 minutes, which I am ok with. We ordered the silver butter knife, which I expected to be blow my socks off delicious. It was ok, thought it lacked a lot of flavor. I was going to say something but didn’t because after a couple pieces I thought it was just that piece as we got it medium rare. It would have been half eaten than complained....not my thing. Mashed potatoes were real potatoes, but a bit dry. We got dessert (Creme Brulee) and that was pretty good. It’s a good experience as always but wasn’t impressed this last time.

This was our first time to the iconic Murray's restaurant. The Chateaubriand for two, carved table side was outstanding! The bread varieties was delicious, drinks were tasty. The au gratin potatoes left a bit to be desired, for their "house" potato. Our waiter was average, not too attentive. The atmosphere was nice and we were able to enjoy a drink in the bar while we waited for our reservation (we were early). It was nice to have tried this restaurant out. Now - time to check out another steak house.

We have dined at Murray's several times and this is the first time that service was not good. When we sat down we were immediately asked if we wanted to order, we replied that we would like water first and a chance to review the menu. We did not hear about specials, we were not asked for drink orders, we repeatedly had to ask for water refills and when we did finally get our order for a bottle of wine, it came after we had already received our main course. Our dirty dishes were not cleared, it was clear that the waitress was more interested in the larger parties around us than our party of two. When dessert time came, she never came back to take our order. When she did return we asked for the check, paid and left. Not a pleasant experience for the expense of dinner. Won't be going back, Pittsburgh Blue is a better choice for service and expense.
