We went for our anniversary dinner. The staff was very helpful. The food was amazing, the steak (porterhouse) was cooked to perfection. Would definitely visit again.
This was our first time at Murrays and it was a wonderful experience, good food and a fun way to celebrate our Anniversary.
Anthony was an A plus server!! He made our evening very special with his fun conversation.
Just ok. Wanted to compare steakhouses - mannys vs murray's. Mannys definitely wins, even considering high prices. Murray's mac and cheese was awful! Service was very good.
The filet was the best steak I have ever had.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is a "Must Go" classic and historical restaurant in Minneapolis. Old photos of famous people on the walls and classic black and white decor. Excellent food and service with aged beef that is so tender you can cut it with a butter knife. In fact, this restaurant has won the Butter Knife award many times for the most tender steaks. I had the 20 ounce Tenderloin which was absolutely wonderful. Probably the best i have had. Highly recommend this steakhouse. Full bar, all major credit cards. Valet parking.
It was my sweetheart's birthday. We were overwhelmed by the great food and the wonderful personal servicre by Ricardo, our waiter.
Outstanding experience, as I've come to expect from Murrays! Looking forward to coming back again soon!
As always Murrays came through service was excellent as was the food with all the other great choices in downtown Minneapolis Murrays is a true must
Dani was an exceptional waitress. As always the food is delicious.
Fantastic steak with a wine list to die for. In the heart of downtown and walking distance of the monorail.
This was hands down, the best steak I have ever eaten. I got the grass fed beef filet and it was surprisingly tender and very flavorful. My husband got the (Kobe equivalent) ribeye and it was fabulous. The various breads, including the garlic bread were a great compliment to the meal. Our server Dennis was excellent - very knowledgeable with a great sense of humor. If you are in Minneapolis, you need to go to Murray's!
Have been enjoying the best steaks and garlic toast at Murray's since the 50's. It's charming and you can be formally or casually dressed and feel comfortable. Have been with family, friends, and business associates over the years. ALWAYS FABULOUS ! One of the old favorites, but never out of style ! Will continue to enjoy and recommend it as one of the best places in downtown Minneapolis.....
The food at Murray’s is the best. I am vegetarian and the sides are ample and sharable. The risotto was excellent. We also had a gluten free diner and Murrays was able to accommodated the gluten free request. The best part of dining at Murray’s is the toast. It is the same recipe from when we first dined at Murray’s over 40 years ago. The service was great.
Murray’s continues to be the best steaks in town, and some of the best in the country. The silver butter knife is so tasty and much better than the national chains. And the garlic toast is the ultimate extra.
Anthony the waiter was great and did a great job serving us!
A truly phenomenal experience. Everything was exactly as we’d hoped it would be. Fine American throwback dining at it’s best. Beautiful, delectable steaks (we both got the daily special Wagu Ribeye with the extra marbling that was about $60 per portion). Perfect asparagus and baked potato, etc. They topped it all off with a complimentary chocolate cake with Heath bar bits in the icing. I’m guessing the cake was because it was a special occasion. It was all fantastic. Can’t wait to go back!
We try to get to Murray’s several times a year.
Over the years the food has always been terrific. In addition to the menue items, the chef prepares pre fix wine paired dinners for small groups, advertized through social media.
Management and service are always first class!
Awesome steakhouse with phenomenal food; a great wine list; excellent service and beautiful dining room. Loved the Single Malt Scotch flight of 3 nice drams. The only better steakhouse I know is in Las Vegas - The Wynn. In Minneapolis, Murray's is head over heals above Manny's ! ! !
Excellent meal. We will be back!
My wife and I have eaten here numerous times and was excited to share the experience with out of town colleagues. For some reason the steak wasn’t good this time around. It didn’t have the same flavor we remembered. It was bland, and luke warm. The sides were uneventful and the soup was over cooked and mushy. The service was outstanding but the meal wasn’t pleasant this time around.
Murray's butter knife steak for two is the way to go. Unfortunately, sometimes the wait staff treats you like second rate if you order this.
Murray's never disappoints. The steaks are the best in town. The wait staff is superior. We go every year for our anniversary without fail. I couldn't imagine spending it anywhere else. Ricardo is the best waiter in the world. A+++
My wife and I dined at Murray's recently for the first time. The occasion was our 2nd Wedding Anniversary. On arrival, we were warmly greeted and the hostess ensured we received seating in a relatively quiet table, and that our reservation was kept on time. We ordered the Silver Butter Knife Steak for Two, and the hickory shrimp and crab cake apps. Because it was our anniversary, we were treated to a complimentary dessert of homemade chocolate cake with toffee and whipped cream -a very sweet surprise! All of the food was incredibly delicious, and the atmosphere, service, and overall dining experience made our evening special.
The steak ( 10 oz. Fillet ) was the best I have ever had!
The sides were blanned. A little salt and pepper was needed, but they didnt have any on the table.
We had a great experience, exceptional service and food.
It was a special event for our family and the service was excellent.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal experience at Murray's. A baked potato could have been baked a bit longer though wasn't a show stopper. It's a bit pricey compared to some similar local options especially if one adds a la carte items (side vegetable, refill of soft drinks) without paying attention to how that runs up one's tab. Generally speaking this is a fine, venerable favorite destination for me to entertain friends and family for dinner when I am in town.
This is a great restaurant. The beet salad and the crab cakes with spicey aioli were wonderful starters. The artichoke and spinach risotto side was cheesy and just fantastic. The 10 ounce filet with bearnaise was just perfect. I give this place a 4.7 star rating. One of Minneapolis' best dining experiences.
We attended the Silver Oak wine dinner - it was amazing! The food served by your chef was SO good and the wine pairings were perfect!
the food was excellent, Our waitress picked out a wonderful wine for us, we were not rushed which was great because we were friends that needed to catch up.
we had great service and wonderful food and that is why we keep coming back.
I love this place! The atmosphere is wonderful, very 1960s "Mad Men." It's a historic restaurant and it retains that mid-century vibe. It's pricey but a great place to celebrate a special occasion.
Lovely Mother’s Day dinner at an old favorite of ours.
My wife and I try to visit Murray's at least once per year to celebrate special occasions. This visit was for Mothers Day and once again, it did not disappoint. We always split the famous "Silver Butter Knife Steak" and a bottle of Cab. If you haven't visited Murray's, do yourself a favor and take your date, they'll appreciate it.
We enjoyed ourselves from the minute we walked in till we left.
Our waiter was wonderful - helpful polite.
We will return.
