Nice lunch place. Better dinner place.
Great burger for $10.
Best. Steak. Ever. The Chateaubriand literally melts in your mouth. It has been prepared perfectly each time I have been there. Murray's is definitely my "go to" place for any special occasion.
Wonderfull memories of many wedding anniversaries celebrated.
Sophia is a wonderful server. We've enjoyed her presence in the past. The continuity we experience means a great deal to us.
Pat and Chuck Higgins
Great steaks and side dishes. The garlic toast is to die for.
Great time out for wife’s bday
Service and food were both excellent. Out waitor was professional and made the evening enjoyable.
Fantastic service, great food and a wonderful experience!! We will be back.
Wonderful steak dinners. Extensive wine list. Great atmosphere in the heart of Minneapolis.
Lovely classic interior with exceptional food and service. Like stepping back in time.
Excellent food and service
Food was reasonably good but not outstanding. Sad when the bread tray is the most memorable part of the food experience at steak house.
Service was slow, not friendly, and unhelpful. We had an old gift card and had a lot trouble redeeming. Ultimately it was accepted after a long delay on the restaurant’s part.
No need to return to this restaurant.
We had a group of 10 and were seated promptly. Had a great wine list for my boss. Service was excellent. Steaks were very good. Very nice atmosphere.
The meal was very good and the service and food were great
Our server made great recommendations and our table had both the butter knife steak and chateaubriand for two and both couples split our meals. The steaks were tender, flavorful and cooked to perfection. In addition, all of our side orders were delicious. In summary, regardless of what you order, you will have a great meal with a high level of service. The restaurant is a Minneapolis institution and it fully lives up to its great reputation.
Seafood appetizers were the best!
Soups nothing special
Baked potatoes were all dried out
Steak was very tender & cooked the way we ordered it
Liked the story around the business, good reading while waiting for the food
Ribeye was not well marbled & very tough. Wedge salad was made well in advance and not at all fresh. It also had a strange dressIng which was horrible. We should’ve stuck with our original plan and went to Capital Grill. Bad from beginning as the host was an old crabby guy. Almost as old as the place itself.
We absolutely LOVE Murray's. I can always count on them to deliver the best steak possible and the best service with it!
I was looking forward to an outstanding steak when I ordered their special of the day. The cut of meat was great, and cook correctly but they put so much drawn butter on it that I didn’t even taste the meet all I could taste was the butter. I enjoy going to true steakhouses like Murry’s to enjoy a true quality steak for what it is, great meat. But when they ruin it with what was at least a quarter cup of butter, it ruins my dinner. Too bad I was really looking forward to my first trip to this steakhouse. Now I’m not sure I will be back.
Excellent service and food was fabulous!
Fantastic experience and would highly recommend!
My husband and I have both lived almost our entire lives in Minneapolis but have never been to Murray's before. We went last week for our 10th anniversary and had a fabulous dinner! Every one from the host to the wait staff were awesome - they were very open to changing both our reservation time and our table (we prefer a booth over a table) upon arrival - food was excellent and wine selection was great! We'll be back - just not that often as it's on the spendy side but was the perfect choice for our anniversary!
My family came here for special occasions for decades. I had not been here for many years. We enjoyed the early dinner special (salad, main course and dessert for $30) and enjoyed a very reasonably priced lovely dinner. The famous garlic toast was as mouth-wateringly fabulous as ever.
My wife and I visited Murray’s for the first time and had an amazing experience. They sat us at the terrific Walter Mondale table and the service was impeccable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Minneapolis!
Classic and well executed. Great service and great food. Our waiter Ricardo was fantastic. We will be back
Was there for my birthday. Place was packed but never felt rushed at dinner. Great service. Waitress knew it was my birthday and brought me cake. Nice touch .
Murray’s continues to be the best steak in the Twin Cities. Martinis to start the evening were delicious. The silver butter knife steak is absolutely the perfect preparation of beef. We could eat there every month. Don’t forget the garlic toast. And order your baked potato with all the works. It was a busy Saturday night and the service did drop off as the evening went on but still had a wonderful evening. We were celebrating my wife’s birthday and they brought us a delicious chocolate cake dessert.
The service was pretty good, but I felt the food left a tremendous amount to be desired. Both mine and my wife's steaks were cooked incorrectly. While the staff offered to have them re-done, we declined because I had already witnessed how long that took for the people at the table in front of us. While I can understand the kitchen having a miss or two on any given night, 4 misses in the span of an hour and a half was a bit much. The rest of the food was fine; not spectacular, but not awful either. I can't say that I would come back, I just don't see any compelling reasons when there are plenty of other fine dining options in the Twin Cities.
From start to finish everything about our dinner at Murray's was great. The service was excellent and our food was as well. Our family goes to a lot of steakhouses and Murray's ranks at the top when we have to recommend a spot in Minneapolis.
Delicious food, wonderful service! Melt in your mouth steak!
Will definitely be returning.
Dinner at Murray's was a great experience, the decor and restaurant setup creates a very soothing and chill atmosphere. The servers were knowledgeable and attentive; and took great care of us throughout the entire dinner. The steak was exceptional; with great flavor, a perfect cook, and a nice sized portion. It is a great location for an upscale business dinner; but relaxed enough for everyone to loosen up a bit. I would highly recommend.
Went for daughters 16th bday. Waitress was lovely, steak was a bit to salty.
I dined here while in for a conference and it was a great place for a business dinner, not as over the top price wise or in terms of ostentatiousness as Mannys (where I ate the previous night) but the steaks were just as good. Great onion soup and creamed spinach too. We didn’t have room for dessert. It’s a few steps from the Embassy Suites and I’ll definitely eat here again on another trip through.
Murray’s is the BEST steakhouse going...great food served with a family tradition that’s been going on for three generations....thanks again for another 5 plus star evening...
Everything was terrific. Service, food, wine list, etc. Would definitely go back again.
Terrific surroundings. We were seated promply. Madeline was an extraordinary server - very cordial; very professional and personable. The food was presented in an orderly and timely manner and the temperature of the steaks was spot on. Our group had the fillet, rib eye, bone-in fillet, and porterhouse. Every one of them was to our liking. It is gratifying to go to a high restaurant and receive high end food and service. I'd go back in a heartbeat.
Ordered a steak rare and it came out me
We have been going to Murray’s for over 40 years. It’s always delicious and the service is great! Love Murray’s and their garlic toast!
Good steaks. Good service. The early dinner special is a good value. The creme brulee was a bit burned on the top, but otherwise tasty. The evening host, Sean, is very friendly and welcoming.
