We were waiting for a very long time for our main dishes to come out. The waitress did not even apologize and was pretty rude about it

Murray's bar is a ton of fun. I suggest you allow the cheesemonger to pick your cheeses and meats... we did and they were awesome.

The food was amazing at this location. Our table ended up getting the Mushroom Toast, Seasonal Mac, and the Murray's Melt with and without bacon. Everything was good and everyone was thrilled with the food. I'm a big fan of Murray's and hope to be back.

Probably in my top 5 meals ever had. Love this place! If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. Do yourself a favor and get the raclette plate and bacon marmalade melt!

A visit to Murray's Cheese bar is a must! We dined in the restaurant one evening, had breakfast from the cafe another morning, bought shirts from the market stall in Grand Central and a cheese starter in a restaurant over the road!! If you like cheese you need Murray's Cheese bar in your life :-)

The matching of my wine with cheeses and meats professionally was wonderful. Sometimes it's nice not to have the cognitive burden of trying to pick from many, many options.

Really enjoyed Murray's Cheese Bar! Despite them originally trying to put a party of 3 at a tiny table meant for 2 (and the hostess being a little stuffy when asking to have a normal table), we had a great time. Our server was very attentive and patient - we were waiting on our 3rd and she was delayed coming into LGA. The cheese try is a must - we picked ours but if you communicate what you're feeling, they can make one for you. Entrees are great!

If you're an idiot like me, you'll spot the cheese supermarket first and panic. Don't. Move on 20 yards and you'll spot it. Stunning food, knowledge about food and service. I really can't say anything else. We shared a 3 meat/5 cheese platter and it worked for 2 of us, tho I was tempted to add another 5 platter and would have been greedy. Amazing cheese. If you like cheese and wine please go.

We come here every few months. My husband and I love cheese and the quality of the cheeses here are the best. The cheese mongers select the best quality cheeses and never disappoint! The mussels were perfect and my husbands lamb meatballs were very flavorful. We can't wait to come back!

The cheeses and wine were excellent. We toned down our main courses because the offerings on the cheese and meat platters were abundant.

I loved the selection of cheeses. The staff was very knowledgeable! We told them the types of cheeses we usually like and they were able to bring us 2 plates of 5 cheese and 3 meats and we devoured everything. The neighborhood is really cool to look around after dinner.

It was delicious, I would definitely go back if I'm in NY again. Friendly, modern atmosphere and tasty food. Nearly didn't find it though because they have a deli up the same road and the restaurant is much less obvious. Would be good to have a sign on the deli so that you don't turn up there and think that the little cafe inside the shop is what you have accidentally booked...

The fondue was really tasty. I also suggest to take the mac and cheese special! i think that the restaurant close too early, the employees had anxiety to close. But the food experience was really interesting and particular.

It was day one of restaurant week, and that was the menu I chose. There were no new items, just a prix fixe bundle. You can find the menu online. I don't think that the $42 price was at all reduced from what one would have paid for the same dishes a la carte. The food was excellent, as always. My server was very helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. The cheesemonger was also very pleasant and enthusiastic about discussing the cheese flight he had designed.

The only foodie nit I can pick is that the white peaches in the salad and the burger were hard and not ripe or tasty. I told the server and she apologized (!) and said that she would tell the chef. i couldn't ask for more from a server.

Be aware that after 6 pm or so the place is pretty noisy, due to the hard surfaces (including tile) which make up the walls. I never have any difficulty conversing with friends or family, but the atmosphere is far from romantic or intimate.

Except for that one note, I heartily recommend Murray's Cheese Bar.

Had a lovely birthday meal here with friends, including a friend's young son. Delicious food and the waitress was very patient and accommodating with a party member's dietary requests. The food was outstanding, of course.

The food was absolutely excellent. Each of our a la carte cheeses came with a pairing as chosen by the "cheesemonger." The cheeses on their own were amazing, but the pairings went so well we couldn't get enough. For our mains we each had one of the burgers, which were also delicious. The gouda burger was out of this world. I will say the service was...odd. The staff were all loudly chatting with each other. I thought it was kind of fun that they all seemed like friends, but it was also a bit distracting. Overall though, we had a really great time and really enjoyed our meal!

Unparalleled customer service and deep knowledge of the menu. Professional and courteous staff and a willingness to work with special requests (one vegetarian, and a special dietary need in the group)

We were told we had to visit Murray's when we come to NYC, and the visit was not disappointing. We started out with the three cheese selection matched with the three draft craft brews. It all worked together, the cheese and beer making both better. We also enjoyed the cheese and embellishments, like one cheese was match with maple flakes, another with candied pecans, the third with butter pickles. For lunch we had the Cuban Sandwich, the Mac n Cheese and the Grilled Cheese plain. The team was accommodating since the kids were less adventurous. I love to taste Cuban Sandwiches whenever I get a chance, and this one was amazing, of course because of the cheese that was combined with the meat and yum. The mac & cheese was breaded and in no way boring, even the simple grilled cheese had some umph with four secret cheeses. If we had more time in the city, we probably would have come back for seconds. Next time!

We eat here all the time. This particular visit we had a surly server for some reason. When he couldn't hear us over the din, he was fairly dismissive. There could be more bread served with the lamb meatballs (as there's so much sauce and non-meatball happening), but wonderful otherwise.

Everything we ate was really tasty, and the cheese...guy (??) came over and explained everything/the pairings, which was really interesting and made the meal even better. Only complaint was that they apparently didn't have enough to make one of the sides that was on the menu, which seemed a little weird/was disappointing.

If you love cheese, this is the best choice for a meal in NYC. Period. Sure, it's a little loud. The service was just okay and the food came a little fast overall. But, we didn't care. Because the CHEESE was ahh-mazing. We could have pieced together 3 different meals from what we wanted. But, those buffalo cheese curds and a cheesemonger plate. That's all we really, really needed. Maybe ever. ;)

This is the first restaurant review I ever left b/c it was seriously THAT GOOOOOD! It is very hot and packed and crowded and TINY. But the food and service are amazing. Get the cheese monger's plate, you won't be sorry! This is a MUST for cheese lovers! Each cheese in the cheese monger's plate is paired with some type of condiment you'd never think to use with cheese. However, they are paired PERFECTLY and it's a great way to expand your palette. The cheese monger also serves it to you personally and gives you info on all the cheeses and their pairings. I CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK!! HUBBY ALSO LOVED IT!!
