Murray Circle Ratings and Reviews
Good great, BUT once again...service issue, arrived on-time for my reserved OT reserv that included online note for a 2-top table sitting across from each other...but NO, hostess says they did NOT do that...we wait a bit, pretty uncomfortable & indifferent hostess, then our pre-requested 2-top was found...then all good. What a BAD & sad way to be greeted...like a funeral!
This restaurant is stuffy and does not have a festive environment. Our waitress was beyond rude, and until we complained she was unwilling to make any accommodations for us on New Years Eve. We were able to finally switch menus to the Bar menu and order some dishes for vegetarian eaters. I really wish that they would change the vibe and energy at this restaurant because it is in such a fabulous setting! I would go back if that were to change. And there is no excuse for bad service! A server should always greet with a smile and make an effort to make a
guest feel special.
Sorry to say all four of us were very underwhelmed by the food. Not bad, just not as good as we were expecting or hoping for. And our server seemed to be having an inattentively off day ... long waits, mixing up who ordered what, etc. But the location and view are spectacular ... and that seems to be what one is paying for.
We have been to Murray Circle many times and love the ambiance and the lovely spot that is so magical.
We ate there for two dinners at Xmas this year and found the food to be "off" Fish was fishy and preparation was not as good as usual. The Short Ribs were dry and overcooked.
Will of course go back, but the prices are exorbitant and should be considered too much money for the product.
WE HAD GREAT WAITSTAFF WHO SUGGESTED THE TASTING MENU WITH WINE PAIRINGS. WE EVEN GOT OUR 12 YEAR OLD ON BOARD WITH THAT SUGGESTION WHEN HE HEARD THERE WERE TWO DESERTS. WE ATE IN A SMALL COZY ROOM WITH FIREPLACE. VERY COZY AND COMFORTABLE. FOOD AND WINE WERE TERRIFIC. STAYED THE NIGHT AND WENT FOR A WALK ON THE WATERFRONT IN THE MORNING.
We were seated at at booth near the fireplace and it was quiet enough to have an intimate conversation without shouting which is rare these days.
The squash sandwich was delicious but I would have liked an option instead of chips with it, like a salad.
The service was prompt but not pushy. An enjoyable weekend brunch.
Was disappointed with the experience. Had lunch several years ago and it was absolutely delicious. Quality has gone down and the service was not good or friendly. The location is wonderful so I would recommend for a place to go after a hike and sit on the veranda. We ate in the formal dining room.
I had been to the restaurant before and was excited to do a special event party here. Unfortunately, it was not how I remembered it. The menu was not terribly inspired and the service was very slow. They forgot to bring the cocktail for the birthday person, too, though nice enough to comp it when I brought it to their attention. The food was fine but not spectacular. The setting was very beautiful and the service not up to par.
Had a fabulous meal, great food, great service. High prices and small portions, but to be expected for that quality and location, etc. The only thing that I was missing was a bit more options on the menu, for example the only chicken dish was a mandatory dish for two. Still an over all very positive experience, we went there for my husband's birthday and had a very special dinner and evening there!
I love meeting friends for a cozy lunch or dinner at Murray Circle because it is actually possible to have a conversation since the tables are spaced far enough apart. The setting in the middle of Fort Baker right by the parade grounds with easy parking, surrounded by eucalyptus trees and a view of the bridge can't be beat. The staff is very attentive and my recent lunch of seared ahi salad was delicious.
It was perfect in every way. We had the tasting menu with wine pairing and it was delicious. Balanced, beautiful, creative tastes and presentation but not bizarre as some restaurants are prone to do these days. Every taste was complementary to every other bite on the plate and with the wine. What a fabulous evening! Can’t wait to go back.
