Skip it. Maybe only decent option in town, but I would try somewhere else. We were passing through and it had good reviews, so we gave it a shot. Wish we hadn’t. Waiter was struggling, our order came out wrong, apparently the chef likes to serve the ground lamb medium rare (looked raw) in the shepherd’s pie. We even tried to send it back. They said he prefers medium rare but “warmed it up” for my daughter. Still the exact same. Meanwhile the burger I ordered medium rare was well-done. Thankfully no one got sick from the shepherds pie but I wouldn’t risk it again.

Would have given more stars since what I'm reviewing is NOT a big deal, but the booth we sat in was all broken down and the side salad I got was supposed to be on happy hour price of $4 but got charged $6. The waiter apologized and made it right! The chicken sandwich was amazing, which we shared.

This place seems to have a local following, which is always a good sign. Come here for casual pub food. We really enjoyed the sausage sampler and the Buffalo chips appetizers. The hamburgers were lean and salad tasty with light dressing. Our only wish on the food was that menu items had more descriptions, such as the sausages that would be included in the sampler. The server was friendly and attentive. The restaurant also had servers just delivering food to tables which helped to make sure items came out quickly. Downtown was also active this evening with a street fair and this restaurant was ready to meet the needs of both local and traveling diners!

There was no hostess to seat us, someone just yelled from the bar area to "seat yourself". We found a table and then waited about 15 min before a waiter came to the table (we were about to leave). He did apologize and said he didn't see us. The focus of the staff seemed to be on the bar area, not the tables surrounding the bar. The food was ok when it did arrive, again after a long wait. We were traveling in this area, just passing through. Don't think we'd return here.

We were traveling through SD and looked for a local place to eat. My husband likes Guinness beer so we selected Murphy’s Pub and Grill. We made a reservation for 7 pm and arrived a little early. There were empty tables so we were seated right away. Our server greeted us quickly, took our drink order, and gave us time to review the menu. We decided to share fried pickles - not the pickle chips so often served, but a wedge of dill pickle wrapped in thin ham and mozzarella cheese, and fried in batter like fish and chips. They were excellent! We then shared an order of Buffalo Meatloaf, served with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Also excellent! The meatloaf was a little more expensive than some of the other entrees but was worth it. The noise level was a little loud, but it is, after all, a pub. All in all we had an excellent time and would certainly make it a go-to restaurant if we were local. As an aside, we did not see a parking lot for the pub, but there were lots of metered spots on the road, and on the holiday weekend there was no charge. I am not sure what the daily policy is.

Visiting the area and went here twice for dinner. Very casual nice place. Try the chisel for an appetizer. Really good and a local thing. Had the prime dip and dads potato salad one night. Pass on the potato salad if you don’t like tartness. Replace it with cranberry Coleslaw…yum! Second night I tried the portobello wrap which was very good as well. Two members of my party had the Matt Melt and said it was very good. One other party member had the steak and potato salad both nights and said it was really good. Get a reservation this place fills up fast. Would definitely go back if I lived closer.

I waited over 30 minutes to receive my first drink, and our food did not arrives until we had been there over 90 minutes. Luckily we were with good company. The server was polite, but did not check on us very often.

We were able to get seated right away, the fried pickles are a must-have, the food was delicious. Only thing I would criticize is we got our sides and about 1 minute later they brought our food out so waiting a few minutes would've been helpful.

Great environment - great menu - salmon was lacking - weird flavor - didn't finish it because it just tasted like frozen, weirdly sauced product. On the other hand, the fish and chips were great - all other items seemed to be fantastic.

Had a great meal while in town for parents weekend. Had a table in the corner so it was quiet there. Other parts of the pub are more “lively”. Portions are large and food and drinks we well like all around.
