Muriel's Jackson Square Ratings and Reviews
Despite being listed as allergy friendly on many blogs and web sites it is not. Staff was indifferent and uneducated about food allergies. Even the salad dressing made in house is not gluten free. One of the Brennen family restaurants a few blocks away was able to offer an appetizer, entree, and something sweet that fit my food allergy needs.
Muriel’s is a regular stop for us when in NOLA. Love the ambiance! The crepes are to die for! Whether they’re at the restaurant or French Quarter Fest, they are always mouth watering! The pork chop dinner is amazing. Servers are always attentive and pleasant. Love this place!
We went for Sunday brunch. My friends ordered the butternut squash soup. They were served lobster soup. We told the server it didn’t look like butternut squash or smell like it. He insisted it was butternut squash. My friend and I tasted the soup and it tasted like seafood. We asked the busboy if it was butternut and to smell it. After smelling it, he said it was not butternut squash. Luckily my other friend didn’t taste it because she is allergic. It took about 10 more
Minutes for the server to return and say the restaurant was out of the soup because it fell on the floor. He offered no apology and asked them what else they wanted. The rest of the table was already done eating. My friends requested a complimentary dessert. The server said ok and brought dessert menu. He did not proactively try to fix the situation by offering something complimentary. We spoke to the manager and she said she’d handle the situation with the staff. She did not seem to care much. Other than the poor service, the food was good, ambiance classic, and good live jazz band that travels room to room.
Fantastic food & service! The best meal my bride and I have had in several years.
Fried green tomato stack, baked oysters, pecan encrusted baby drum, and bread pudding were all excellent.
Goat cheese & shrimp crepes, crab cake, and salted caramel pecan cheese cake were absolutely AWESOME!!
We had a wonderful meal at Muriel's. We made a reservation on Open Table. The place was packed but we were seated immediately. We ordered from the Prix Fixe menu. Between that and the ala carte options, it was hard to choose. Options include several local specialities. Service was prompt and friendly. Food was excellent. Wine list was substantial. It all made for a very enjoyable evening. We heartily recommend Muriel's for a great night out. Be forewarned - the place IS loud.
Service was excellent. The food was very good. . .my wife said her pork chop was the best she has ever had anywhere. Street noise was a little loud (ambulance/and crowds)...people staring into window over table but that is part of N.O. The dining room, bar and reception area are authentic New Orleans, and we really liked it. We will return.
This restaurant was incredible! It is located in a very old building with elegant decor. The waiters were very knowledgeable and attentive. The appetizer crepes were fantastic as well as the shrimp and grits. The bread pudding was not impressive.
You cannot miss by going to Muriel's. I had the three course meal which is quite a bargain. The goat cheese shrimp crepes are the bomb and should not be missed. My second course was almond coated drum, which was a delight to the palate. Vanilla bean creme brulle for dessert was the perfect end to a perfect meal. I will definitely be back whenever I'm in New Orleans.
We went there due to a business trip to New Orleans for my wife. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. Michelle and Sarah took great care of us. My family all opted for the 3 course meal. My wife would not stop talking about how great the food was. If we are ever in New Orleans again, we will definitely be back to Muriels!
This was one our favorite dinners on our trip to New Orleans. Food was wonderful, service was great. Kris was amazing, great recommendations and a lot of fun. The crepes with shrimp are crazy good and the pork chop was amazing as well. Good portion sizes. Great ambiance. Definitely crowded/bustling, so don't go for a "quiet" meal. But don't miss it. We will be back for sure!
Although the menu and prices are on a par with upscale NOLA restaurants, and despite beautiful space, great location, and friendly staff, the food itself was disappointing. One of the rare times a highly rated restaurant in the Quarter has failed to impress. Perhaps it was just an off night.
