We enjoyed a wonderful birthday dinner at Muriel’s and couldn’t have been more pleased with our first time there. Our server Travis was more than helpful, along with the entire staff who each helped attend tables needs. Great atmosphere, great food, good people! Definitely recommended
Easily the worst food I have ever encountered in New Orleans and I live here. However management made it right by not charging us for cold baked oysters. Perhaps it was just an off night.
Had the baby drum. Never had it before. (Fish) not a big fish eater but thought I’d try it. Was the best fish I have ever eaten. Crushed pistatio with a light sauce that tasted sooo good. Shared a little with my sisters. They really liked it too
Had a wonderful experience at Muriel's. From the time I arrived and greeted enthusiastically, to enjoying our lunch, it was a joyous experience. The food was exquisite with exploding tastes and smells. The ambiance was exciting, yet calm for a lovely conversation with family and the decor was simply lovely. We had a fabulous time and will be sure to recommend to others. LOVE, LOVE, LOVED it!
Great dining experience. Food was delicious and the waiters/staff was very friendly and efficient.
Food is excellent and reasonably priced for location, waitstaff lacks attention to detail. Worth the experience, but not special.
Our party of four met for dinner before the Musical Concert next door at St. Louis Cathedral. Their pre theatre menu was perfect and the food was very good. Their three course dinner was very reasonable and beautifully served.
Charming, vintage NOLA restaurant. Hubby enjoyed best ever Cauliflower soup and excellent blackened catfish for lunch. My gumbo and shrimp po boy were also very good. Definitely worth a try and must tour all the rooms in the restaurant and balcony upstairs.
Amazing food and excellent service
Friendly, helpful waitstaff. Great location with a bit of everything - dining area, bar, balcony and then the special added bonus of the upstairs lounge rooms. Beautiful decor, great food, affordable, well worth it and will certainly recommend to friends.
Great service and amazing food! I will definitely be back.
Loved this little gem in NOLA. The history of the restaurant just makes it more appealing. Our servers were also fantastic and were great at their jobs. Food was impeccable.
I always enjoy going to Muriel’s when I visit NOLA. The food is good as is the service. It’s not a wow experience but I keep coming back.
Very nice place with good food. Slightly expensive.
Situated in a beautiful historic building in the famous Jackson Square, Muriel's features fine Creole dining with a few modern twists. The crawfish crepes with crabmeat are outstanding. The Ramos Gin Fizz is the real thing; a taste of NOLA tradition. There was a wonderful jazz trio for brunch, who managed to provide lively music without being overwhelming. Our one (minor) complaint was that my partner's duck hash with eggs and Hollandaise was not served hot. The server kindly took the plate back, but returned with still tepid potatoes and overcooked eggs. It just wasn't worth trying to send it back again. Every place has it's off moments, so I wouldn't hold it against them. I would definitely return.
Great brunch!! Our food was superb and the jazz band delightful. We started with the crawfish and goat cheese crepes and fried green tomato stack. They were large enough to share ( there were 4 of us). Then we moved on to the Eggs Veney, Muriel’s omelette and puppy drum. Wonderful choices!!
A great place for a jazz brunch!
The wait staff was amazing. They made great recommendations and very attentive.
The best restaurant I have ever had the privilege of dining in. Wonderful service even better food... hands down the best restaurant in New Orleans.. my fiancé and I spent $150 plus a $20 tip for dinner and a bottle of wine. Afterwards we went upstairs and drank on the balcony which was quiet and romantic.. love it I hope I get to go again one day... 5stars!!!!!
My daughter and I had the three course menu and Michelle and Travis were our services. They were extremely attentive, made great suggestions and as a consequence, the evening was memorable. I had the cheese crepes with crawfish (amazing) and the shrimp and grits are to die for. I would definitely go back in a heartbeat. Lovely lovely evening.
While this was an overall outstanding experience, I really have to say the most prominent takeaway was our service! We went for a pre-theatre meal, so we made reservations, and the staff not only asked us what time we wanted to leave to make sure we received our meal in time to make the show, but they were so kind, attentive, and gracious. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough based on their staff alone. It’s just a bonus that their food, atmosphere, and cocktails were perfect.
Thank you to all of your staff for a wonderful occasion!
There were two servers assigned to our table but surprisingly very inattentive. We waited forever for our food. When it did arrive the sauce for my dish was super salty. My husbands steak was tough and his sauce lacked flavor. The creme brûlée was status quo. Nothing special. There is nothing tackier than the server picking up the bill after a customer leaves, looks at the tip, comments to the other waiter while in front of the other patrons. Tacky. It’s not as if he was hustling back and forth taking care of the customers...he was more of the wondering waiter. Not to mention he was so good at his job the Manager was bussing tables and delivering good. Not a quality experience. Very disappointing.
Brunch on vacation ,very nice
Fantastic experience. Unforgettable food. The fried green tomatoes and the crepes are a must!
We came here with my two 3 year olds and their staff was super friendly with them. Hats off on their service! Our waiter TRAVIS was a total star!
Food was very good. A little noisy, but they were packed. Service from Eric and Jenny was excellent.
Great food and excellent service! You can’t go wrong with that!
I took my friend for her birthday. We had a lovely time at Muriel’s. They even greeted her at the door with happy birthday! Definitely the best food we’ve had in our first 3 days in NOLA. Gorgeous dining rooms and we both decided it was the lowest volume we’d experienced. The tables are spaced comfortably apart and you can actually carry on a conversation without shouting. The food was exceptional. We chose from the Table D’Hote menu which is an excellent value. And they take reservations which was extremely valuable for us.
Had a wonderful dinner but there was a very loud table right next to ours and we could not even hear ourselves. And management never called it to the attention of these people. We are on vacation and wanted this to be a special evening
The manager is always making sure everything is just right. Great food and service! I always make it a priority to go here for dinner when I’m in town.
Wonderful service and great ambience, as well as a great selection of wines.
Great location, bustling atmosphere, good food and pleasant service
We actually learned about this restaurant on our ghost tour! Interesting little story, I won't ruin it for you. We decided to eat here and loved it! Great food even better service, would definitely come back.
Food was to die for, our waitress however was clueless
Overall I was VERY disappointed. I'm actually shocked the ratings are so good. Food was good, but nothing to write home to mom about. The service is what really lacked. Asked for recommendations on a few menu options, and the staff didn't provide much help. Very slow getting drinks to us, and very slow with the food service. Not once did the staff come by and ask how our meal was. Never asked if we wanted more drinks either. I had to ask if we could have another, and then that took forever to get. They come and ask if I want drinks at Applebee's and I hate Applebee's! Staff was good about filling waters, but would never ask if we needed anything else. No plans to ever come back here in the future. Too many other options, and I'm sure the staff would be much more accommodating!
Great serice, a grown-up meal with a kid's menu! Fixed price menu had great options
This restaurant came highly recommended by a close friend. We were not impressed with menu choices. Not impressed by wine list. Kept waiting x 20 mins despite a confirmed reservation. Salmon was half raw despite a request to have it cooked through. Disappointing to say the least.
The menu was delightful and they were so kind to offer kids portions of wonderful selections. The staff is second to none here in NOLA. James and Jeremy were our servers who were both knowledgeable and attentive. Amazing crab cake and the duck was outstanding. Save room for dessert! Enjoy.
The food was pretty good when we got it. ...but we were basically ignored. Will not go back
Always make a point to visit Muriels when in town. Was a little disappointed this trip due to all the children when we first arrived. Children defiantly cheapen the experience! I come here specifically because i dont feel it is a "family" restaurant. Some of us grown ups chose not to dine amongst unruly children! It did get better the later it got. The service and food were exceptional as usual!!!! I highly recommend provided the children thing doesnt become the norm.
Make your reservation a few days in advance for SUnday brunch. The string jazz group provided the perfect ambiance, but I didn't make the reservation until Sat night so the earliest reservation was 1:30 and the group ended their performance minutes after we were seated. My friends greatly enjoyed their seafood omelette and fish. The bread pudding and my soup was delicious.
