Excellent food set in a lovely old home. Service was quite good, although with two servers, confusion was sometimes an issue.
Visiting NOLA & looking to enjoy a good meal
Great time- all was enjoyable
Noticed a nice bar in the back that I would like to visit next time
Host was gracious
This was our first time dining at Muriel’s. Everything was amazing. I had the Goat cheese and crawfish crepes appetizer, shrimp and grits (best grits I have ever eaten in my life) and creme brûlée. My husband had turtle soup and the blackened red fish. Everything was amazing and great portion sizes. We are locals and we will definitely be back.
Food was fabulous, drinks were great and we all enjoyed the jazz trio!
We ordered the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer and they were fantastic. I ordered the blackened redfish and enjoyed it very much, but my girlfriend ordered the steak and it was just okay. It was cooked perfectly but we could not taste any seasoning, so it was pretty bland. That is the only thing keeping this from being a 5-star review. We would definitely return though...
The food is ridiculous. Just so good. Have the duck
Elegant place for special occasion. excellent food
Food was delicious. Service was excellent. Great anniversary dinner!
Could not have been better!! So special. Great location and beat food I’ve ever had.
Chloe and David were the perfect wait team.
Food was excellent.
Atmosphere was great and food wonderful. Chloe who brought our drinks out and checked on us was amazing. Even the Host at the door was great invited us upstairs to relax and enjoy the “haunted” part of the restaurant. The only drawback and disappointing thing about the experience was our waiter David who seemed attentive to everyone’s table but ours. I felt I should tip accordingly which was not really fair to Chloe and for that I am sorry but I have traveled all over the world and dined in many fine restaurants and never been treated in such an obvious and rude manner.
Muriel’s never disappoints. It may not be the oldest or the most famous but it is a quality place go to for all Locals and wise visitors. Great location , wonderful food and unique atmosphere. What’s not to like?
Food was good service was surprisingly better than most places we dined at while in New Orleans
I went for Jazz Brunch on Sunday. The food was excellent, and the music was great!
The food was good. We came during Mardi Gras and had Muriel’s signature salad, the Gorgonzola cheese cake, the fried green tomatoes for starters, 2 fillet dinners, the pork chop and a chicken dinner. Our drinks, a White Russian, the honey child and a Flur de lis were perfect. The desserts, flourless chocolate cake, the cream brûlée and the pecan tart were delicious. Our waiter, Luis (young, with glasses and braces and a local) was awesome. Very attentive and friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Definitely worth eating at at least once.
Great food and perfect service. Always feels like a special occasion at Muriel’s. Appreciate the attention to detail.
Great respite in French Quarter for an intimate meal during Mardi Gras festivities.
Great food, fun trip to the seance room. We think we saw a ghost.
Great service and ambiance.
The food was exceptional!
The waitstaff seemed rushed and not very warm or inviting. The restaurant was not very busy for the waitstaff to be so cold.
We definitely will be back for the Food!
However, if the waitstaff is not interested in a bigger tip...that is on them. And yes, I still left a substantial TIP
Food was good. Not great service was ok. I didn’t like that I had to order shrimp and grits from a prefix menu. Had I know I would have chosen a different restaurant
Our servers were fantastic. We were dining with a 2 year old and they were so accommodating and friendly. The food was delicious and we truly enjoyed our experience. Thank you!
Muriel's is always a delight. Great atmosphere, delicious food, ambitious service.
Had a delicious brunch. Started with the crap and then have the Muriel’s omelette. Everything was seasoned perfectly. Our water glasses were always fall in our waiter was so attentive. I would definitely come back anytime I’m visiting New Orleans.
Food was disappointing- gumbo inedible, duck hash has maybe 4 pieces of duck and the hollandaise sauce was cold. I know they were really busy, but that doesn’t excuse bad/cold/late food. Won’t be back.
We traveled from Philadelphia for a long weekend and made brunch reservations here, after several recommendations from others. We were not disappointed. The restaurant is stunning inside, with lots of old architecture, art work, and mirrors. And the food was top notch. I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried something very unique, that I knew I wouldn't get back home, and I wasn't disappointed. This place is a must try for visitors.
Our experience here was AMAZING! My wife and I went for Valentine's Day and we couldn't have made a better choice. We got there a little late because of parade traffic but they still held our reservation. We arrived and were immediately greeted and seated in the corner of the restaurant by the window. We were in a quiet area and we loved it. Our food was succulent and well seasoned. I had the duck with brussel sprouts and my wife had the pork chops with mashed potatoes. The meat was perfectly cooked and not fatty. You also have to try the bread pudding for dessert! It was soooooo good. The waitresses were beyond helpful in making drink and menu choices. Service was top notch. We will definitely be back!
We love Muriel’s! The food and service are both top of the line. Great atmosphere for dining.
My wife and I went to Muriel’s for her birthday, which is also Valentine’s Day. As always, food, drinks, and service were fantastic. If you’re visiting for lunch get the red beans and rice. The pork chop that comes with it is awesome...and I don’t like pork chops but gave the dish a shot because I like RB&R. Great call by me!
Another wonderful experience at Muriels. We always get to NOLA hotel around 11am which is too early to check in, so we drop the bags and head to Muriels for a kick off lunch. We had a 1230 reservation, but got there a bit early but was seated immediately.
We love the menu, the service, the ambience and the location. Food is always excellent and wait staff very attentive, but not so much that they are bothersome. Always there when you need them. We look forward to our next NOLA visit and a meal at Muriel's!
We always enjoy our visit to Muriel’s and this was no exception!! Excellent food and service !! Thank you!!
The food the service and the wait staff was outstanding. We will go back soon
A New Orleans staple. Classic southern dishes prepared without fanfare, yet well executed. Fantastically friendly service.
Fantastic food and great service! The set menu was well worth the price and such a great deal
We had dinner here when we were in town for a fun friends vacation. The food and drinks were fantastic. The service was not amazing, but it was slammed in there on a Saturday night, so they were doing the best they could. The shrimp and grits were fantastic. Would highly recommend making a reservation. I would go again.
Amazing food and wonderful
Ambiance. We love visiting Muriels!
As a visitor to the French Quarter, with many recognizable eateries, boy did we luck out with Muriel’s. A special place, where its place history doesn’t mean it isn’t modern. Knowledgable, friendly staff!
One of my favorite restaurants in the entire country, not just New Orleans.
I like to go to Muriel’s whenever I come to New Orleans. Go early before it gets too busy. I love the prix fixe menu. Drinks are not cheap but it is an enjoyable meal. A great New Orleans meal experience.
