Love Murals for breakfast when staying at the Warwick Hotel in NYC. Wonderful large and varied buffet and cooked to order Omelettes and Eggs Benedict excellent. Bonus freshly squeezed orange juice. Nice surroundings.
The Warwick is a classic New York Hotel, and my favorite place for breakfast in NYC is Murals. The buffet is great, and the coffee is excellent!
Randolph's is a terrific place to have lunch in NYC. Great venue, great service, great value.
Terrific place to have breakfast in New York City. Lovely dining room, great choices in the buffet and terrific coffee.
Great choice for lunch or dinner. Neat bar scene. Another reason I stay at Warwick.
Good for business
It was good but a little pricey for breakfast. Nice place. Good portions
We had a delicious brunch - lots of options from the buffet to eggs to yummy French toast with strawberries and bananas! Special setting and great service.
Easter brunch was delightful for larger family group.
Excellent breakfast buffet!
Murals on 54 is over priced for a very basic meal. However Randolph's had good food and atmosphere.
server and food was great. people were very helpful, kind to children and the Mural; is spectacular.
all in all this is a wonderful respite in crazy Manhattan
The wait staff was not very attentive. We waited an extremely long time between getting our menus to being asked for our order and then we had to search out our waiter for water refills and when we needed anything else. Our check took forever to come as well.
We needed a breakfast place near the Plaza Hotel and Central Park. They took a reservation for 5, had our table ready and the breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious.
Really expensive so not a great value. Watch out for the automatic OJ pour at brunch. It's not free refills
This is a great place for Breakfast... the breakfast bar is the best in the city...
Perfect place for a business breakfast.
(Murals closes around noon, so Murals is for breakfast only). My wife and I shared a delicious (and generous) club sandwich. I can't remember our three friends had, but we're all coming back for our Saturday pre Encore concerts at City Center. The service was excellent, the place is the quietest I've been to in a long time, and the cost is definitely reasonable.
I only had breakfast there. Place filled up quickly and definitely good for a business breakfast but obviously inflated prices like in any NYC hotel. Again, worth it when it comes to needing a normal decent place for a business meeting while having breakfast.
Service was excellent and the food was quick
Sorry, no reservations. Not from OpenTable or from any other source. First come, first served only. This made this a bit awkward when arriving for a business lunch only to find out that our reservation meant nothing. Eventually, they crammed three of us at a table for two.
I hardly ever write reviews but the experience here was just awful. The service was very pushy on trying to get us out of there quickly yet the restaurant was empty. The waiter was rude. The restaurant is WAY over priced for the level of food. $91 for two omelets, burnt coffee and a side of bacon. The only reason we went here was we were looking for a brunch place that was open early (10am) and SOMEHOW this place had a 4 start rating on OpenTable. The only good part is this has now become a reoccurring joke for us whenever we’re looking for a new place to eat.
Because it's at the Warwick Hotel, ideally located for a breakfast meeting, I'll go here. The dining room is beautiful, but the food and service are never better than average, and the price is EXORBITANT! Like an omelette for $27?! For two people the breakfast tab came to $90. Maybe the worst price performance restaurant in NYC. And you know what? They don't care -- they apparently don't have to.
The thanksgiving buffet was fantastic and so was the service. I question a $6.00 cup of coffee although it was good. I recommend this restaurant for Thanksgiving and would eagerly return if I am ever in NYC on a holiday. You won't be disappointed!
Took a client there for breakfast cost me $70. That to me is a joke. Breakfast is basic food. Nothing extravagant. To pay that kind of money to me is a waste. Later that afternoon a took a client to lunch ( not there) and it cost me only $50. To me breakfast shouldn't cost more than $40 for 2 people.
Food was good but a little on the high side for breakfast I thought.
I conducted a business breakfast here because it was near my colleague's hotel and his
following business meeting. It was one of the few restaurants open at 7:00 am which was
the necessary start time for our breakfast. My first (and better) choice was Michael's (nearby)
but they do not open until 7:30 am.
I would NOT return to this restaurant
Came with my family for an early dinner. The atmosphere was awesome. We were seated immediately, at a table that was directly next to the fountain, tucked away in the back. It was perfect. We were away from diners who might have been annoyed with our kids (who were perfectly behaved) but in a spot that they completely loved. They were front row on the fountain, which they thought was super cool. Our waiter was one of the best I've ever had. He was attentive but not obsequious, and just a really nice guy. You asked him for something once and it was on the table seconds later. He even brought us extra guacamole when he saw my 2 year old devouring it! The food was fine (but not amazing). Definitely worth it for the location. We will definitely return!
There are not a lot places where you can make reservations for breakfast which is plus. The room and the staff were very good but the food was only fair.
They actually canceled the reservation an hour before we were supposed to be there for eight people and I had to scramble to find a place to go when they confirmed the reservation for a time that was after they close! Will never go there or try to go there again.
Maybe we missed the fine print - but at 4:45 they told us the buffet was closing at 5. We had a 4pm reservation but the whole thing felt hurried. The food was ok. Not great ok. You would expect better gravy for Thanksgiving and the desserts were a mess - tasty - but you couldn't serve them because everthing was caked with cake. Overall - just a mediocre dinner for 2 for $200.
Was looking for a nice convenient comfortable impressive place for breakfast in midtown and came across Murals. A bit pricey but it is a beautiful spot and worth it occasionally!
It's not for lack of good food, the food is just fine. On the busiest power lunch day of the year with two hour waits anywhere else, this restaurant will still be half empty. I'm not sure why, but I find that very good, especially when lunch wasn't planned in advance enough to get a reservation.
searched for a nice lunch location before going to MOMA with a friend. MOMa is just 1/2 block away, very convenient. The salads were very generous and satisfying, especially paired with one of Murals artisanal rolls, pretzel, asiago or a cranberry nut roll that can be served for dessert!
A quiet haven in midtown. Lunch on St. Pat's Day, and you wouldn't have known there were howling drunkards just outside.
I picked this spot for its location, style and that it's a good spot to talk and conduct some business without much fuss. It was perfect and we enjoyed the great service and yummy food. My only complaint is that the place closes down at 2pm and we felt rushed to pay up and leave by the staff. Why not push your close to 3? 2pm in NYC is still prime time. I bet you get more business that way.
After making reservations for Christmas and arriving on time, we were seated five minutes later. Before taking our drink order we were told the very expensive buffet would end in less than 30 minutes. The manager came over and said they would keep open the buffet for an extra 15 minutes. Very negative dining experience. The food was sub-par and very forgettable. I would never encourae anyone to dine at Murals 54. We felt rushed and it ruined our holiday. Do not accept reservations if you are going to give your guests 30 minutes to eat.
We had an excellent Christmas Day brunch as a family at the restaurant. The food and service were excellent. It would have been nice if there had been just one more vegetarian entree, though the family very much enjoyed what was on the table.
Have been coming to Murals for 6 or 7 years for breakfast to thank my distributors for their efforts and to conduct a sales review. Murals has been a great venue for this. Will continue to come back each year.
The thanksgiving lunch was great.
