The view is magnificent, but it's available throughout the facility. The elk short ribs were tough, the rest of the meal was unremarkable.

Only complaint was the cost of the special which was a vegetarian ravioli. It was a little steep at $33. Guess we should have asked before ordering. Otherwise we loved the place. Every table had a view. The food was great and service was too. We were celebrating a birthday and we each received a complimentary glass of Prosecco.

We have eaten at the Mural Room befor. The menus changed and portions wer smaller for some items, the prices were the same, or more... we arrived early for our reservation but were seated immediately. The table we had was in the corner where the view and sunset were not great. There was an event with a lot of people and noise which made the view and the sound unimpressive in a normally very impressive setting... some things can't be avoided. We will return in the future:-)

We had dinner twice in the Mural Room and had breakfast there about 6 times.
Dinner was very expensive. The first time we had dinner there I ordered the grilled salmon with couscous and it was excellent. So the second time I ordered the very same meal, but this time it was extremely disappointing, especially how the couscous was prepared. So it seems the quality is hit or miss. After that, we preferred going to Dornan's in Moose for dinner or the Pioneer Grill next door.
For breakfast, the buffet was really excellent (much better than ordering from the menu). They have an omelette station where they can also make fresh waffles. The fresh fruit was especially good. I would definitely recommend the breakfast buffet.
The panoramic views of the Tetons from the restaurant are outstanding and the restaurant is known for its murals, hence it's name.
I'd say the 'Value' is fair for dinner and good for breakfast.

Food was excellent and service was truly exceptional. We had Charles who politely and courtesly added to the evening. Superior service by him and others. Portobello appetizer and prime rib. Cadallic margarita was superb. Great evening out and UNBELIEVABLE VIEW OF TETONS.

While visiting Jackson Lake Lodge in Grand Teton National Park we were excited about dining in the beautiful Mural Room overlooking the Teton Range. We made our reservation in advance of the trip so we would not miss this dining experience. Our party of 4 arrived on time and were seated within 20 minutes of our reservation time. We were seated at a table near a server/busser station, which was very noisy with wait staff constantly dumping dishes, cutlery and glasses into bins -- at that was the tolerable part of the evening. Our food came to the table cold, entrees were dried out and looked as though they sat on a plate for some time, one chicken dish was even raw inside; incorrect items were brought to the table; and, the manager was ineffective at helping to resolve issues. To sum up our evening: service was extremely poor, from the inexperienced wait staff, to the inexperienced manager; the food was poorly prepared and served; food prices were very high for food that was mostly inedible; and the beautiful surroundings were hard to enjoy with the noisy hustle and bustle of the staff. Beware, this may be a beautiful dining room in a beautiful national park, but do not expect a fine dining experience.

If you are at The Grand Teton Lodge it truly is a must dine in attraction. The mountain views provide a spectacular backdrop. A sunset view is not guarenteed (which is around 7:30 in Sept). So allow another day to watch the sunset from either the cottages with mountain views or the outside vistas.

Food is good but pricey. Depending on your dish and appetite portions might be skimpy. Wild Game pappadelle was hearty and tasty. Tomahawk Pork chop also good. Fried chicken with grits was excellent and enough for me, but the 2 small pieces would not have been enough for my husband.
The lemon cheesecake with huckleberry sauce was perfect. The bread in the brioche ice cream sundae was stale.

Service was attentitive but a bit slow. It was a very busy night.

The restaurant offers magnificent views of the Grand Teton Mountains. The staff is courteous and friendly. The food is a huge disappointment. The prime rib was fatty and gristly. The fried chicken dish was served with one small leg and a wing which were tasty but extremely inadequate for the $38 price. You are paying for the view. Better off stopping by and enjoying the view in the lobby then dine elsewhere.

Thoughful service. Well-conceived food. But the unavoidable wonder of the meal is the astounding view of the Grand Tetons through the huge windows -- at least before it gets dark. The mountains are almost unbelievably beautiful.

A wonderful restaurant with an amazing view of the mountains. Staff was excellent as was the meal. It was a nice change after 10 days at restaurants in Glacier and Yellowstone that were not quite as upscale. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. Prices were reasonable for the atmosphere and food.

The Mural Room is one of the premier restaurants at the Grand Tetons. Although the prices were high, the view and atmosphere was something we wanted to experience. The Corn Chowder was outstanding, but our prime rib was pretty average. What made our dining experience memorable was our waiter, Charles. I'm glad we experienced the Mural Room, but be prepared to pay over $100 for dinner for two.

Restaurant check-in area, as well as adjacent hotel lobby and bar were chaotic and very crowded - forget about getting a drink in the bar before dinner. Luckily restaurant itself was calm. Service was efficient and the food was pretty good, other than dessert (all choices were very heavy - cheesecake wasn't tasty). The view of the Tetons is the star, while the murals are also nice.

It was a great venue and great food. The wait staff was wonderful as well...prompt, courteous, professional and knowledgeable of the menu.
the down sides were - I was shocked and disappointed to have found a hair draped across and through the horseradish when the prime rib came out. Also, to have order the tomatoes and mozzarella plate to have a very green, hard and crunchy tomato. I'm sure that is intentional, but would have been nice to know prior to ordering. The prices were a bit high on a couple of the items, specifically the filet and the buffalo new york. Otherwise, i can not say that wouldn't go back, or recommend to friends if they are looking for this caliber of dining experience.

Beautiful dining room at the Jackson Lake Lodge in the Grand Tetons. We had an excellent waiter and his assistant was good as well, but the food was lacking somewhat. I had a bone in Pork chop that was well flavored but was tough and my husbands prime rib was as well. Our dessert was almost a joke. A lemon cheesecake with Huckleberry swirls that was about 2.5"round and 1/2" thick and very dry. Hmmmm. Maybe a cheesecake cookie?
