Mural Room - Grand Teton Lodging Company
I was so looking forward to the dinner there, but the steak was burnt😓
Food was good. Need more vegetarian and vegan options for a diverse clientele. Great service! Unfortunately, we had a late reservation after sunset and could not see the Tetons out our window seat. But we knew they were out there in all their glory!
Lovely restaurant in beautiful setting. We were pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. The staff was very friendly.
The Mural Room is way better than most national park restaurants. The room is stunning and the food is quite good. Small touches set it apart; for example, butter is served as little balls, not foil wrapped pats.
The best part was the view. The food was over priced. The beef tenderloin was small but tasty. Not worth $42. My elk was bad. Tuff meat and too much fat. The veggies were not cooked long enough for my taste. They border lined on being raw. Mine was $46 and the most expensive on the menu. The bread was dry I expected better. The service was good.
That was dinner. Breakfast was excellent.
In a regular setting the Mural Room is just good. But it is in a national park and in that setting, it is very good. And it is just a week before they close for the season so some lapses may be due to that. The room itself is stunning. The food is way better than typical national park fare. Service is friendly and mostly competent. Wine service needs improvement.
View was outstanding, food good, service left much to be desired. I tried to keep in mind that the folks that work there are seasonal but our waiter was arrogant and really impacted the experience. so if you go ask not to have Charles.
My dining experience at the Mural Room was life altering. I have never ate a meal quite as scrumptious. My waiter Adam was experienced and you could tell he really cared about his job. My busser Belle remended me of a Disney princess. She was sweet and kind. I got a table right next to the window and spotted plenty of wildlife. The only thing better then the glorious Tetons was the hosting staff. Mariah started off my great road trip the night before with her bubbly personality and charming smile. Cassidy (another host) recommended great trials and was very helpful on this adventure I'm pursuing. Callie's way with words will keep me coming back. She is attentive and knows what she's doing. And then there's Lauren, who's southern charm was icing on the cake. Let's give these girls a raise people!!! Can I get an amen.
A gem in the Tetons! We stayed at the hotel/cottages during the last week at the end of September for the end of the season (unfortunately another story). We dined here twice and were not disappointed either time. Great food, great service, a view that can’t be beat and good prices. Note the online menu is not consistent with what you may actually have available; we were hoping to get the tomahawk pork but it was a no show in the restaurant. Regardless, the overall experience was wonderful and we defiantly recommend the Mural Room.
Meat Entrees were great, salmon entree was average. Caprese salad was a work of art and fantastic. Desserts were over enthusiastic. Too many flavors on one dessert plate. Cheesecake should taste like cheesecake.
First visit and celebrated birthday and anniversary. Great experience because of view and location.
Excellent service...amazing food. We enjoyed the historic and upscale atmosphere.
This is a great place for dining with a great view of the Tetons. Nice large formal type dining area. The food was good, not anything spectacular. The wine glasses were visibly dirty and the waitress was good, but not overly friendly. I think since they are winding down for the season, the wait staff are ready to be done. Understandably so, they have to deal with tourists all day, every day and let's face it, not all tourists are the nicest people in the world. Not sure why, your on vacation, you should be happy, right? Anyway, overall a good place for dinner. Can't beat that view!
The view and the room were both amazing which is why I would recommend this restaurant. The food was just average at best. The prawns were just large shrimp. The roast beef we ordered as medium was a rare piece that was thrown in a pan and not as ordered. The rolls were room temperature. Bottom line, go for the view, not the food
I don't normally write reviews, but our experience was so awful that I really felt it was warranted and I don't want others to waste an evening/meal of their vacation having the same experience we had. The only reason I'm giving The Mural Room 2 stars is because of the beautiful view. Other than that, our experience was awful. Both my wife and I were disgusted with our food. My elk was severely overcooked (I ordered medium rare and it came out well done) and it had absolutely zero seasoning. Not even salt. The quality of the meat was extremely low as well. I hunt elk and know how elk should taste and how it should be prepared, as eat it year round. They didn't trim any of the silver skin off the meat before cooking which made it chewy and difficult to cut and eat. I sent it back. For the second attempt they cranked up the heat on the grill and did a quick sear and sent it out as charcoal on the outside and raw on the inside. Just like the first attempt, the silver skin had not been trimmed off and it was not seasoned at all. It was inedible. It was extremely sad to me that an elk gave up it's life to be completely disrespected by a cook that obviously had no passion or respect for the ingredients or the guests.
My wife ordered the fish, and it was so overcooked that it was like rubber. We couldn't figure out how you could cook fish so well done without burning it. The only way we could figure was by using a microwave to reheat a previously cooked piece of fish. Like my elk, her fish was also completely unseasoned. Both of our side items were also cold, not room temp, but actually cold.
I'm promise I'm not one of those overly critical people that constantly destroys places in reviews. The Mural Room was just truly that awful. Do not eat here if you want a good meal. The staff are time card punchers that have zero passion for what they do. They very blatantly don't care. Drive up to Jenny Lake Lodge and have a significantly better meal!
Prices are high and our national park dining experiences have been generally disappointing, but we took a chance and I am glad that we did. My filet was delicious and my husband really enjoyed his bison strip steak.
We had dinner on two evenings during our stay at the Jackson Lake Lodge. We had a gorgeous view of the Grant Tetons and enjoyed enticing menu items.
The view from the Mural Room at sunset is nothing short of spectacular. We also had a wonderful waiter and the food was quite good. Overall a terrific experience.
Mediocre kitchen and haphazard service make this a tough restaurant to recommend. The prices are significantly higher than the experience warrants.
Tried some unique choices - bison New York strip and Elk ribeye. Prepared well but a little over seasoned for me. Had a table on the window for the sunset over the mountains-amazing view!!!
The Mural Room is historic and for that reason I could recommend it. The food was basically good, but my Elk steak was very tough and quite large. Since we were traveling I could not take the leftovers back to our room. I would recommend a smaller offering at a lesser price. Here's a tip... instead of dining in the Mrual Room, where the afternoon/evening sun came through the windows near dusk and limited our ability to see out the windows, get a table on the deck. We did that for an hour prior to dinner and LOVED it. We had drinks, hors'd oeuvres and an amazing view. All agreed we could have called it an evening after that -- no need to dine in the Mural Room and drop $150 per couple.
Food was great and the personnel made the meal even better. Views could not be beat and the price was reasonable. Even late in the season the restaurant was busy. A great place to have a great meal.
Awesome view of the Tetons in a historic hotel and restaurant. Food was probably the best in the Tetons, came here for lunch and dinner. Excellent attentive wait staff. Be sure to check out all the paintings and sketches throughout the restaurant, as well as the lobby. Definitely worth visiting Jackson Lake Lodge even if you are not staying there.
Menu good variety to select from. Our party selected 5 different entrees
Service on par with my best restaurant experiences.
An excellent experience in every aspect.
Try going outside Yellowstone Park for a better dinner. This was very mediocre.
The food, wine, and ambience were excellent. The waiter (Neil) was for the most part haughty, indifferent, inattentive, and downright rude.
The server forgot one of our guest’s soup. Server was very nice, but service was fairly slow. Food was average.
wow , what a place. you can't go wrong reserving an evening here
They were not staffed or equipped for fine dining. Food was good, but cold. They are just making money off location. Disappointed. Feel sorry for staff .
The view from a window table is breathtaking & can’t be duplicated anywhere, especially if you are there at sunset. The room feels comfortable, cozy (although it’s huge) and romantic. The service is friendly but unobtrusive. The food was the best that we had anywhere in Yellowstone or Grand Teton, although that is not saying much. But the menu was varied and included many options for locally sourced food & game.
Great view mainly...few places where you can get such a view.
The food and service was excellent and you won't find a better view anywhere.
Our waitress, Kayla, was very attentive and helpful!
Beautiful view of sunset on the Tetons is the reason to have dinner at this restaurant in Jackson Lake Lodge. Dinner was nice and the waiter was very good. We did not have to dress up, which was nice for a hiking/adventure trip.
Our meal in the Mural Dining Room was excellent. My wife ordered the trout but the waiter was confused and brought out the salmon. We like salmon as well so she accepted the dish. It was good and was a large piece of fish. I ordered the prime rib and it was excellent. Waiter was very pleasant (he was from Spain).
Great food and attentive service. Knowledgeable staff . The smoked trout chowder was amazing and he steaks cooked to our liking. The view of the Tetons was a bit obscured with haze but that’s the nature of it. Great way to cap off a day in Yellowstone and grand Teton parks!
The most incredible view of any restaurant where we dined. The service was great and food tasty and well priced. The mountain view will take your breath away. A must do if in The Grand Teton National Park.
After three days of bad food in Yellowstone Park, it was a joy to eat at Jackson Lake Lodge in the Grand Tetons and actually have good food. The tomato and fresh mozzarella salad was delicious, as was the prime rib. And we had a spectacular sunset over the mountains.
Went to dinner for our 40th Anniversary. Got a wonderful table, wonderful waitress and wonderful food.
I would avoid this restaurant. The food was just okay but the prices were for good food. The waiter told another table that the view was okay - he was a total wet blanket who could not wait to leave. The pasta special was just okay. The dessert was a joke - a stale piece of "huckleberry" pound cake and a melon ball size of cinnamon ice cream. Wish we ate at the Pioneer Room instead.
The view of the Tetons is outstanding. We both had the Idaho trout which was excellent. The service was excellent.
