Excellent ! Not a fancy experimece place but fantastic food and service
Something for everyone on this menu, and all of it well done.
Our waitress was extremely helpful in explaining dishes to us
Outdoor dining was unexpected, but a nice touch. Prawn Tika Masala was delicious. Momos (veggie) we good too. Tadka Dal was prepared well - could have had a bit more flavor.
We have been coming to Mumbai spice for 5 years or so. Anytime people from out of town have come to visit we have always come here. We used to go about once a month however, over time, meals have gotten more expensive while some of the dishes have gotten smaller. For example, the drums of heaven are now 4 pieces when the menu still says 5 pieces. Otherwise, we will still keep coming back, inflation and COVID probably hurt the business a bit but will be going less often because of the prices. Still always a really delicious meal.
A pleasure to eat indoors again. Lovely, complex spicing and terrific tastes. TY.
Service staff was excellent. Highly recommend garlic naan.
Delicious! Servers are always so pleasant and helpful with selections from the menu. Have eaten here several times before Symphony Concerts. Always a great meal!
Our pre-BSO spot. The food is always good. I wish the wine list were better!
We have been here before, and usually have a uniformly good experience. This time, the bhagare baingan was much too salty. Other than that, we had a lovely time.
We were getting together for a nice dinner followed by a lecture series at Symphony Hall.
We ate here before going to the Symphony. The service was wonderful. Our waitress was such a sweet young lady. The food was fantastic. It was our first time and we will definitely be going back.
Great food with great service! Got our food fast and it was delicious
Birthday dinner. Wonderful service
A few drinks, some food... sounds like a date! Only the food was not great, the cocktails terrible, and the service indifferent.
Very pleasantly surprised to find this restaurant so close to Symphony hall...a step above the other ethnic eateries in the area and while not especially elegant it was attractive and stylish. Food was also excellent and not at all spicy (although server did not ask for spicing preference). Service itself wasn't entirely seamless but not to the point that it marred the experience. Would definitely come again when in the area.
The food was too spicy
Great experience for group of 6. Server made excellent suggestions and helped us make a concert deadline. Food was excellent. Dining near window was private and quiet.
Very good food and wide variety of dishes. I was with a group of 5, and we tried several appetizers and main dishes, all of which I liked. The menu also seems to accurately label the spiciness; all the dishes labeled mild (which were the only ones I tried) were truly mild while still being flavorful, which is not always true.
They lost our order and we were last for our show!
Starters were very good. Unusual sequence of food arrival. We ordered Naans and paneer. Naans were brought in way before the paneer only to get cold. Vada pav had no onions or relish. It was tasty, however.
The only cutlery on the table is a fork.
The waitress was very pleasant and despite being only her third day at this restaurant, was helpful.
Tasty food. Slightly confused service as the place became crowded but otherwise pretty good all around.
Amazing service we arrived when the kitchen was closing without knowing, but the waitress was very kind and convinced the chef to take our order. She even gave us a student discount!
I like this place a lot. It is conveniently steps away from Symphony Hall, a real find. We eat here whenever we go to some there. They serve very tasty Indian food (they also offer Chinese - maybe next time!) Yummy desserts. The wait service was prompt, efficient and pleasant. It is a very clean and pleasant place to eat and talk. The parking garage is around the corner, across from Whole Foods. Win!
You know you're somewhere special when it's the only place you eat every night that you're in Boston! They make you feel like family and even know your order. Fantastic food, excellent service, perfect atmosphere. I can't relate to the haters who post bad reviews. Hands down my favorite.
The hostess/server/bartender Rhabia, was amazing. She did it all, while being very pleasant and professional. The food was quite good and we enjoyed the entire experience. I would definitely go to Mumbai Spice again.
Excellent foods. All the usual plus interesting new dishes. Wait staff good-speedy service. Will go back.
Delicious food and outstanding service. We were in and out of there much quicker than expected. There were several tables of Indian folk in the restaurant. To me, that speaks volumes as to the quality of the food.
Conveniently right next to BSO, we had a 6:00 reservation and needed to be at the symphony for a 7:30 show, which we told the waitstaff at the outset. After 20 mins, we had to go find a waiter to get our order in. Had to find a waiter to get the sauces that should have come with pappadams. Had to find waiter to get silverware. Food arrived at table at 7:20. We had to shove it down in 7 minutes to make the doors for symphony. Food was ok, but never again!
Continues to be my hands down favorite! Haven't had anything bad on the menu! Service is amazing!
The food was very good. Chicken Tikka marsala, Lamb vindaloo, vegetables featuring Okra and yogurt and garlic naan. All very good. Service was very pleasant too.
It had been recommended to us. First time there— very nice.
I love this restaurant. I'm now trying to eat everything at least once on the menu. You can't miss this hidden gem!
Food was very good, as always, but the delivery of the food to the table was piecemeal and slow.
Food is delicious, and the servers are friendly and efficient. We went here for a pre-concert dinner (it's within an easy walk of Symphony Hall, Jordan Hall, and Berklee), and were very happy.
Mumbai Spice is one of the very best Indian Food restaurants I've ever eaten at! Fantastic service and homemade recipes straight from a mother's kitchen in India! Do not miss this incredible gem in Boston's Back Bay!
Food and Service were very good. Dessert selection is not great. Coffee tasted like instant
The worst Indian restaurant we have ever eaten at, and one of the worst restaurants we’ve been to overall. Food is bland, atmosphere was like a school cafeteria, and they have a restricted liquor license with weird drinks. Poor service - an all around very poor experience.
Food excellent as usual. Service was wonderful. Chai was not hot or very flavorful. Coffee mediocre.
I love Mumbai Spice and all the options they offer! The servers are pleasant, the food is delicious, and the food is modestly priced. Honestly, it's so hard to pick from all the tasty options they offer! Great place! Will be a regular!
