Mumbai Delight Ratings and Reviews
This restaurant coped very efficiently with a group of eight of us late at night. The welcome was charming and the food very good. There is a limited choice of wine but the less expensive wine which we had was very palatable. At around £25 a head including service charge this is good value.
I went to this restaurant with my girlfriend, and have also been with my parents at one point. It's a well decorated and nice looking restaurant, with a good atmosphere. All the food I've had so far has been very tasty, and I would suggest anyone wanting Indian food to try this place out.
The only issue I've had with the restaurant is that it can get a bit loud if there's a lot of people there.
It was our first time at Mumbai Delight. The food was absolutely wonderful, good value and the chef/owner was very attentive. I can highly recommend the tarka dhal! The only thing that let it down was the waiting staff, who generally seemed disenchanted and unfriendly. The girl that served our food kept knocking into me as she served it, and it took them ages to clear our table away when we’d finished, to the point I had to eventually ask them, despite several staff walking past.
I booked this restaurant because of its proximity to a theatre I attend regularly with a group of friends and was able to book a table for 8 people 10.30pm! We were warmly welcomed on arrival and a table had been prepared for us. I had already chosen from the online menu to save time and the food came promptly and was most delicious and appreciated by my friends. We ate well and the bill which included two bottles of good wine came to about £24 a head. I hope that we shall return on our next visit to the area in January.
Our experience was exceptional, and our host went above and beyond explaining the dishes on the menu and how our dishes were prepared. He was very knowledgeable about the kitchen and the food. The atmosphere was very cozy and tasteful, with a modern interior. We ordered the paneer lababdar, which was a rare find on the menu. We plan on coming here again in the near future. The meal was very affordable as well.
This place was one of the best place so far we found in London. Everything we ordered was delicious. Fresh, flavorful, hot. The service was impeccable even though there was a huge group that took almost the entire rest of the restaurant. Two nights later, we went to Dishoom based on several Londoners recommendations. And while the location at Dishoom is very pretty, the food was clearly better at Mumbai Delight. Highly recommend it. Definitely worth going out of your way for.
Staying in the area for business and wanted some good Indian food. I found Mumbai Delight based other reviews and was not disappointed. I arrived earlier than my colleague and was the first in restaurant. The server (owner I believe) quickly greeted me and showed me to my table so I could get settled. Once my colleague arrived we placed our order and were not disappointed by the food or the service. I would recommend this restaurant to others and will be visiting again. They also do take-out which I will be using.
I was staying in holiday inn, looked for good curry and found on google very good reviews. So decided to go there so far food was so good and service was very nice I am glad that Main chef Ajay was suggested me my food and lovely Indian wine thanks to young chef Ajay and his team. If I am around I will take the opportunity to go back to Mumbai delight.
Went here with my partner for an evening meal around 9pm on a Saturday night - was very quiet, but was nice for easy conversation without having to shout. A mix of families and couples and pleasant Indian music.
Food was generally good - the pros being the non-veg platter (very tasty) and the chili paneer starter (very spicy but great!), however the lows were the sauces with the poppadoms; a red one tasted exactly like a cheap tomato ketchup with some chili added. It's unfortunate because this low was one of the first things we ate and made a negative impression early on.
Service was good - the person I imagine was the owner was very pleasant and chatty and made a very good impression.
All in all nice, but little things could be improved upon.
Took my American relatives who wanted some great Indian food while in London and they were not disappointed. The food is great and the servers were friendly and attentive. The only complaint is that the "spicy" dishes were not spicy at all. We ordered a few dished that had the maximum spice level as noted on the menu, but couldn't taste any heat at all. But the flavours were so good that we didn't really care. Try the chicken lollipops starter, those were my favourite.
You were greeted at the door with pleasant staff. Overall the staff at Mumbai Delight was very Friendly and hospitable. They attended to All your needs. Food was lovely Bangladesh type food not like the normal Indian cuisine.
Would definitely recommend
This was our third visit to Mumbai Delight which probably says it all. The chef was able to make something especially for the vegan in our party which was very nice - I don't know whether they would be able to do that if they had been busier. The other two meals went down a treat too.
The staff are very friendly generally.
I recently had the pleasure of discovering Mumbai Delight with my girlfriend on a trip to London. The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We had the House Biriyani which was delicious, one of the best Buriyanis either of us had ever had and the portions were extremely generous. We enjoyed it so much we came back for a take out box to enjoy on our train ride home! I cannot recommend this great restaurant enough, and we both look forward to coming back and sampling some other items from the menu!
