The patio tables are not reflected here at the website, please call the restaurant to check availability
Main dishes were ok. My rib eye and veggies that accompanied it were very bland and extremely overpriced. Have had bettet steaks at other restaurants.
The appetizers were better than main dishes. Do not recommend getting cheese plate-we had 3 persons and the amount of cheese was miniscule.
Save your money and go somewhere else.
Lot of activity going on with so many employees running around... prepping table that’s almost in the middle of the restaurant was a little distracting! Salads are good, double cut pork chop is fantastic! Fun place if you want loud and energetic... but food was not over the top!
We had the 6-course Chef’s Tasting menu! It was amazing!! Happy Anniversary to us!
Thank you so much for a wonderful dinner for Father's Day! Our server Christina was helpful and cheerful. My husband was a bit chatty but she tolerated him and us so we appreciate it very much! Food was awesome! Will definitely come back.
Mulvaney's is not inexpensive, but the value is pretty good. Portions are moderate. Food is outstanding. The service is impeccable. They don't rush you at all. If someone is still eating they generally will not clear any plates so that diners don't feel hurried. Other eating establishments are often right on you after you have finished your own meal. Mulvaney's employs common courtesy and does not clear until everyone has finished their course. Maybe I'm old fashioned but that was very refreshing for me. My first time eating here and I was very impressed overall. btw - The patio is awesome.
Mulvaneys has been a family favorite for a number of years but our recent visit was disappointing. Not much new or innovative on the menu and much of the execution was so-so. Of note was our order for aged rib eye steaks. Four in the party ordered this item, 3 different requests for grill cook. When they were brought to the table, there was no attempt to match the order with the person, just put them all down and we had to cut into them just to guess the cook on each. Most were more done than had been ordered and there was NO seasoning on the steaks.
Service was good for a back, hidden room which was really nice. Definitely not our best experience there.
Service is one of their priorities, Taren was quite knowledgeable & organized in dealing with our group of 7. Mulvaney's has earned their reputation as one of the best in Sacramento, both for food and service. One of our group was a professional chef & he was very pleased with the quality & presentation of the food and the performance of the staff.
I was visiting my daughter in Sacramento for my birthday and her birthday. We found Mulvaney's on a visit Sacramento website. The food was amazing everything about this experience including the birthday personalization on the desert was Top Shelf I would go back again and again for that pork chop. This was one of the best choices we made all weekend. can't wait to return.
Went for our anniversary and everything about the visit was a wonderful experience. These folks really know how to pay attention and treat you well. We noticed they had a lot of repeat business and knew all the regulars. Even though this was a special occasion for us they still treated us like family. Knowledgeable staff and super friendly and attentive. The price paid for everything received was well worth it. We will for sure be back for just fun. It was that good! Enjoy!
Thank you for making her 30th birthday special!
Thank you for accommodating my whole food plant based diet. Everything was delicious, but I especially enjoyed the lentils. Plus, this is the 1st time I wasn’t hungry when I left a restaurant. And it was nice to have options, too.
Of course the carnivores were happy, too. Especially the 2 that ordered the gluttonous, double pork chops.clean plates all around!
This place is my absolute favorite so far in the city of Sacramento. The food is by far of superior quality and the service is fantastic. Sitting outside makes for the best environment for any date or special occasion. I will definitely continue recommending this place to friends and family. In addition, their locally made honey is the best and I cannot wait to have it again.
Best ribeye I've had in the region with my new favorite whiskey. Mulvaney's is intimate and architecturally rustic, and it benefits by that proximity and ambiance immensely. Anytime I connect with somebody new to the city, this is where I take them. Strongest recommendation.
Always outstanding, Patrick never disappoints. Smoked Salmon with Irish brown bread and the signature duck are not to be missed.
EXCELLENTLY experience! Food amazing! Love the eclectic feel and friendly, warm vibe!
Food was phenomenal! Service was impeccable. Fun and attentive service by Adrian (like the movie Rocky). It was unfortunate the wonderful staff had to endure the other ungrateful snooty snobs that seemed to be dining that night. But, I digress. Great little gem in the city for us on a girls weekend!
Thanks again Adrian.
Mulvaney's is consistently wonderful--this was maybe our fourth or fifth time there. The menu is interesting--new and unusual items presented with flair, but something for all tastes. We had our favorite table by the kitchen prep area, and my husband enjoyed some new craft beers (the server kindly offered him some tastes so he could decide). My husband had the Delta asparagus and sweetbreads, and I had the greens with strawberries, blue cheese, pistachios, etc. and the wild mushroom pasta (small plate but good size for me). Our server was, personable and attentive at just the right level. The white peach tart was a hit for dessert. The vibe is a perfect blend of casual and white table cloth/elegant cuisine.
Too notch as always. Love the Redbreast at the end of the meal.
We ate here four years ago to celebrate my Dad's 80th birthday and remembered that it was quite good. Tonight we came back to celebrate my Mom's 80th birthday. The food tonight did not disappoint. Our appetizers were the foie gras with strawberry marmalade and what seemed like french toast and the smoked salmon with brown bread. Both dishes were very nicely done. My tuna was perfectly seared on the outside and rare on the inside with blue potatoes and spring vegetables (asparagus, snap peas, and fava beans) that were still crunchy (just they way I like them) in a "green salsa" that reminded me of chimichurri (with dill added)...it was delicious. We also shared the chocolate ding dong and the peach cobbler with blueberry ice cream, both of which were delicious as well. All around, we had a great meal.
We really enjoyed the Fois Grais, just like the Effil Tower Restaurant in Las Vegas.
We loved Brooke! See you next year.
We both had the salmon dish. One of the best dinners we had ever had. Very tasty, and everything worked well together. I'm not sure what the chef is going for here, but it's a great combination.
Service was great - there when we needed it but not hovering over us. Sound registered a 72 on the DBA scale on a phone app. I was a bit surprised it wasn't showing as louder, but we discovered we were having normal voice conversations even as the place filled up.
I ordered an Old Fashioned with a boutique bourbon - had high hopes for it. Supposedly it had B&L made bitters. Whatever. It tasted like a bourbon on the rocks to me - not an Old Fashioned and I sent it back. I had the Gin and Cucumber, what a great combination! The wine steward made an excellent suggestion for wine to have with dinner (Pinot Noir - can't remember winery).
We had the Room 700 Charcuterie for starters, great selection that raised our expectations for dinner.
Very impressive atmosphere for midtown. My wife had the tortellini stuffed with their own sausage recipe which was fabulous and I had their 25 day aged ribeye which was also perfect in every way. They gave us special small plates so we could each share our dinners with each other which is encouraged for the delectable feast. Their sauces and side dishes are also of gourmet caliber. For dessert we had their famous dark chocolate Ding Dong similar to the Hostess variety only 100 times better and prepared by a pastry chef. We are still talking about it. The Service and was very good and timely. Real pro staff.
Staff was wonderful and accommodating. My Duck was the best I’ve ever had. The salmon was fishy and unfortunately uneaten. They removed it from the bill so all is well. This is the best place to dine in Sacramento.
The food was outstanding and service is awesome.
We were able to get the wine room for my party of 7. If a private room is available, I highly suggest it. Always a good experience at Mulvaney’s.
Normally I have had great food at Mulvaney's, but this time was subpar. Foie gras was quite small; did not cover the slice of biscuit it was on. And my steak was cold. Had to send it back. Willing to try again.
Our special occasion day ended with dinner at Mulvaney's B&L and we all will remember the authentic flavors and amazing service for a long time. I know that my daughter will never forget her first time at Mulvaney's after her college graduation and I am sure she and her boyfriend will be returning for other special occasions or to make memories of their own. Everything was perfect!
Wonderful and delicious!
If you want to go somewhere that is the epitome of farm to table this is the Mecca. Wait staff impeccable, no rush attitude.
Best place in Sacramento.
B Day The mail was excellent service was great but it was very loud
The Mulvaney staff were friendly and cheerful. Seating outside was nice and very comfortable under a beautiful shade tree. We started out with an old fashion made with one of favorite bourbons, Noah's Mill, and it did not disappoint. The starter chili chowder was nice but it lacked salt and some deeper flavors known in a chili base. I had the halibut and did find the fish a bit overcooked. The olive and salty topping added the flavor to the fish but overall it was needed more flavor. The asparagus however,
was seasoned and cooked to perfection and with a generous portion to boot. Overall service was good and the pleasure of my sons made the meal enjoyable.
Excellent as usual. We had our anniversary dinner here and everything was perfect - food, service and ambiance. We were in the outside patio which was particularly delightful.
We celebrated my son’s birthday Saturday night. Food and service were fantastic. Only criticisms are for the high noise level and the lack of valet parking.
We enjoyed the experience. The manager reached out to us after our visit to ensure everything was satisfactory.
Service was solid -- attentive but not fawning. Food was excellent and very seasonal/local. The gigantic double pork chop is extremely good. The only off note was the bread put on the table -- seemed like something from a supermarket shelf and not at all up to the rest of the excellent food.
Wonderful food, service, and ambiance - my favorite restaurant. They are fine with sharing both small and large plates and their food is so innovative and delicious- all done in a very comfortable style.
Service was awesome.Enjoyed all the little details at the table with presentation. Friendly from coming in thru the door, recognizing dinner was for a special occasion, and goodbyes. Dessert even had a chocolate message written on the plate and candle.
Very impressed. Can’t wait to return to enjoy another special dinner experience.
Our server was maybe the best we’ve ever had. She was fantastic.
This is my favorite restaurant in Sacramento. The food is superb. I started with a salad and moved on to the steelhead trout. The flavors were wonderfully balanced. Dessert was a twist on the Hostess Ding Dong and it was stellar.
