Mulvaney's B&L Ratings and Reviews
Just an incredible night, every course was delicious, our server was attentive and fun without interrupting our night in any way. My husband's steak was a little underdone for him and they fixed it, which isn't that unusual. It's always better for a steak to be underdone as it's an easy fix. The thing that blew us away was that the server brought a complimentary cup of the red pepper and potato soup that was one of the best soups we've ever had. Our server said she did this so he had something to eat so I wasn't eating alone. It was such a small thing, but so considerate and just made an already special night that much more special. And we probably won't every skip the soup at Mulvany's again. Oh and if the Abalone is on the menu, don't miss it!
This has been our 3rd visit to Mulvaneys and it was fantastic. We brought our children, 19 and 20 to experience great food and service. My son and I tried the duck and lamb, so delicious. Our son commented on how large the portions were, which made him very happy. Can't wait to go back.
This place was recommended for a business lunch but it was very loud and hard to hold a conversation. The menu is rather limited and the service was slow. To top it off, there was a very odd aroma in the place. While it wasn’t completely unpleasant, it was very overpowering. Probably won’t be back.
The food was amazing. The service was good. The only reason I'm not giving it a 5 is because my wife's raviolis came out cold. They did take it back and brought her hot food rather quickly. Also, the manager was at the bar taking shots. Not classy. Otherwise it was a wonderful experience. Will definitely be back.
Mulvaney's never disappoints. From hand-crafted specialty cocktails to an extensive lunch menu, the choices are exceptional. The pork chop was huge and delicious, the cheese platter was extensive, and the Ding Dong dessert was tasty. The service was fabulous. The highlight was Dave's wine and cocktail recommendations. Patrick even stopped by to say hi. Thanks, Mulvaney's!
Mulvaneys represents the best in class of restaurants in Sacramento. Our Server, Taryn was completely accommodating and professional for this important business lunch meeting. And thanks to Kit and Patrick for keeping us focused and on schedule.
1/23/18 mostly good. Waitress forgot about serious but allergy however and brought cheese board with WALNUTS. We should have sent it back, but my daughter is not into making a fuss, so we worked around them. But she has such a serious allergy (as we mentioned to server) we should have declined. Menu doesn’t list nuts I think?? It should!
We LOVE the place. It’s our go to for all special occasions.
The food is always fresh and delicious and best of all service is always superb.
We have had SJ a couple of times and her passion for food and cheerfulness is part of the experience at Mulvaney’s!
I serve on a board that meets three times a year in different cities around the country, and a group of us enjoys getting caught up the night before the meetings start at a spot representative of the local food scene. Mulvaney's "snug" provides the perfect private room to get together and enjoy outstanding seasonal food and extensive selection of cocktails, wine, and beer, with superb but friendly service at a relaxed pace. We are from a cross-section of geographical and cultural backgrounds, and all enjoyed it immensely. The main restaurant and bar looks lively and fun, and were I a local, I can see it would be my go-to spot for a casual but special evening for 2.
Go, go, go, go, go! The potato mushroom soup was rich and balanced. Two beautifully cooked sea scallops sat upon creamy mash potatoes with dollops of a lightly vinegar creme fraiche which punctuated the scallops. We tried the vanilla and persimmon-vanilla home made soda which were both refreshing. We ended with splitting the cheese cake with pomegranate compote, and the delicious bread pudding - both were wonderful. Excellent service, unique and interesting building.
Food, service and ambiance are phenomenal! Mulvaney's is a truly special place--festive and fancy, casual and welcoming. Although prices are higher than we're used to (esp. for wine), one expects to pay more for this superior level of uniqueness, quality, attention to detail, and wonderful-ness. In the future, we'll forgo the alcohol so we can eat here regularly. The swordfish with polenta and braised greens, as well as the ribeye and the chocolate mousse cake, elicited an ongoing stream of yum-yum noises. A memorable evening!!
Service was friendly and professional and the ambiance is nice, but the standout here is the food. I started with a salad of butter lettuce, almonds and persimmons; it was superb. I had ahi with fried rice and radishes for an entree; it was a wonderful dish. I had two desserts, the best of which was the lemon tart.
