As usual, food excellent, service was especially superior - we wanted to share two entrees and they were prepared already split, made the sharing easy. Server was attentive but not obsequious, very pleasant. Best dinner yet!
We were so very happy with our evening at your place. The service, food and wine by the glass options! Thank you!
Mulvaney's is the best restaurant in Sacramento. Excellent dishes well prepared and exceptional service. I have dined there numerous times over the years and have always found that to be the case. Especially noteworthy is the level of service: it always at the highest level and is a reason to go there.
Hands down my favorite restaurant in Sacramento, and that is saying a lot. There really are so many great options in this price range (Ella's is a stand out). But Patrick and his team bring it, every day, every meal. Thanks for putting this amazing experience in Sacramento.
Loved our lunch there. Food and service was beyond excellent.
The food and service were exceptional as usual. Unfortunately there was a large party (12-15) seated next to us in the main dining area and they were very very loud. Their voices emanated throughout the entire main room of the restaurant. We were celebrating 3 birthdays, including my mother-in-laws 80th birthday and we could not even hear each other talk or what the servers were saying.
I have eaten at Mulvaney's many times. The food and service was exceptional. Unfortunately on this night the whole dining experience was disappointment due to the noise level.
We were delighted to be contacted by the restaurant letting us know our party of 6 would be moved to the wine room. It was super cool and we hope to try and get in there again. Very private and Patrick Mulvaney came by to check on us. The experience was intimate and private!
Another great meal at Mulvaney’s. Love the fresh, local food that is very inventive. Service is spot on. Can’t wait to return!
The food and service was exceptional. The ambience was ok. Prices are a little scary!
It's been a while since we've been to Mulvaney's. It's stillinnovative and special. I can't stop taking about their B52 dessert. Layer of Grand Marnier gel on top of Kahlua mousse on top of Bailey's mousse. Yummy doesn't fully describe it.
Food and Service were both extraordinary. The ambiance was inviting but the architecture had no "noise dampening" so that it was very loud even though not crowded and hard to have any personal conversation without feeling like one was shouting. Other than the volume issue would rate this as 10/10 experience.
Fantastic food. Bar tender was my waiter - super attentive, honest, generous
Excellent meal; food well prepared, cooked to perfection. Service was excellent, great place to go for a high quality dinner.
Mulvaney's B & L is always terrific. The food is fresh and creative. The staff is friendly and attentive. Patrick and Bobbin are superlative hosts. It's always a treat.
Great food. Unpretentiously elegant service. It's always a treat to dine at Mulvaney's!
Had an anniversary dinner there and from meal to service to even checking in everything was impeccable. The food was superb and the wait staff friendly, knowledgeable and on point. My wife and I were not disappointed and will be returning. Great for any occasion but especially a romantic evening.
We had been to Mulvaney's for a wedding reception. The food and service were exceptional so, we looked forward to our anniversary dinner there. We arrived a few minutes early so we had a drink at the bar. Part of the appeal of Mulvaney's is the atmosphere. The staff is warm the customers are eclectic making it a great mix for good things to come... like the food. Since the menu changes daily what we enjoyed may not be available. That said, the pasta with spring peas was outstanding. The fresh tuna with with meyer lemon was more of a salad than a raw fish dish, which is what I expected but, very good none-the-less. The double-cut pork chop was overwhelming in size (keep that in mind ladies) and simply prepared and flavorful as was the dry aged steak. Both came with mouthwatering sides. Dessert was a chocolate by death ding dong... no complaints there. We will go back. Only wish the bar was larger so we could eat and enjoy the food and the camaraderie more casually and more often.
We have been several times and each time we tell the waitress to inform the chef just to bring out some vegan dishes that the chef feels inspired to do that day. The dishes were amazing, as usual, and we had a wonderful evening.
Everything went smoothly. Got there and was seated quickly. Drinks, starters and main course was excellent. Now been there twice and awesome experience both times. Will be back!!!
Just an incredible night, every course was delicious, our server was attentive and fun without interrupting our night in any way. My husband's steak was a little underdone for him and they fixed it, which isn't that unusual. It's always better for a steak to be underdone as it's an easy fix. The thing that blew us away was that the server brought a complimentary cup of the red pepper and potato soup that was one of the best soups we've ever had. Our server said she did this so he had something to eat so I wasn't eating alone. It was such a small thing, but so considerate and just made an already special night that much more special. And we probably won't every skip the soup at Mulvany's again. Oh and if the Abalone is on the menu, don't miss it!
The visit was for my birthday and I was offered the wine storage room. I felt very special that night with my family in this elegant room. The food was excellent and we all enjoyed ourselves. Thank you Mulvaney’s for making my Birthday extra special.
excellent food and service. our server Taryn was top notch
This has been our 3rd visit to Mulvaneys and it was fantastic. We brought our children, 19 and 20 to experience great food and service. My son and I tried the duck and lamb, so delicious. Our son commented on how large the portions were, which made him very happy. Can't wait to go back.
This place was recommended for a business lunch but it was very loud and hard to hold a conversation. The menu is rather limited and the service was slow. To top it off, there was a very odd aroma in the place. While it wasn’t completely unpleasant, it was very overpowering. Probably won’t be back.
Excellent farm to fork choices. However, the noise level is a bit elevated for a quite dinner. Nice wine parings.
Great food and a wonderful staff..I have been here 5 times and it's been great all 5 times
Lived up to all the hype. Tasty, tasty food, and extremely competent staff.
I love this restaurant so much! It's in my top 5 favorite spots in Sacramento.
Exceptional food and service. Every dish was delicious.
The food was amazing. The service was good. The only reason I'm not giving it a 5 is because my wife's raviolis came out cold. They did take it back and brought her hot food rather quickly. Also, the manager was at the bar taking shots. Not classy. Otherwise it was a wonderful experience. Will definitely be back.
Excellent as always. Our favorite restaurant in the city!
The Food was amazing! The steak and duck was seared to perfection! Will definitely be coming back to try the pork chop and other things on the menu. It gets a tad bit noisey b/c it’s a small building but very nice for my business dinner.
This is one my favorite restaurants in Sacramento. Proteins were cooked to perfection, we really enjoyed our starters especially the cheeseboard. Great selection of wine. I would characterize the service as just short of perfection.
I had an enjoyable experience at Mulvaney's. Both the food and the atmosphere were very enjoyable. All four courses were prepared and plated perfectly. Our server was gracious.
Mulvaney's never disappoints. From hand-crafted specialty cocktails to an extensive lunch menu, the choices are exceptional. The pork chop was huge and delicious, the cheese platter was extensive, and the Ding Dong dessert was tasty. The service was fabulous. The highlight was Dave's wine and cocktail recommendations. Patrick even stopped by to say hi. Thanks, Mulvaney's!
The hostess Brianna was horrible. Bad customer service. However, Dan , our server, saved the night. He was funny, attentive and just overall awesome. We would definitely come back just for Dave. The hostess needs some serious training on soft skills.
Mulvaneys represents the best in class of restaurants in Sacramento. Our Server, Taryn was completely accommodating and professional for this important business lunch meeting. And thanks to Kit and Patrick for keeping us focused and on schedule.
We were 20 minutes late from our reservation and they were extremely accommodating. We have never had a bad meal or service at this restaurant
1/23/18 mostly good. Waitress forgot about serious but allergy however and brought cheese board with WALNUTS. We should have sent it back, but my daughter is not into making a fuss, so we worked around them. But she has such a serious allergy (as we mentioned to server) we should have declined. Menu doesn’t list nuts I think?? It should!
