Mulligans on the Blue Ratings and Reviews
Unfortunately the restaurant was having a private event that took all of the space except the bar. We were not notified of this until we arrived and we were dropped off. We were greeted by an overwhelmed staff that assumed we knew about their event. We had to sit at the bar that gave priority to waiters serving the event. Just was a good experience or a good first impression.
Upon arriving at the restaurant we were greeted by the hostess whontold us that the restaurant was booked by a local party and thatbthey could not accomodate us unless we sat at the bar. Totally unacceptable and disrespected for our anniversary celebration in Maui.
We had a wonderful evening at Mulligans on the Blue. We enjoyed good food out on the deck. It was a busy night as Soul Kitchen was performing inside. My husband and I were loving the music and the dancing so much that he forgot his wallet there at the end of the night. Took us a while to figure out where he might have left it, but when we called the restaurant the next day, they gave us the good news that they had found it!
We are ever so grateful to have found everything intact. What an honest bunch. Thanks to Mulligans on the Blue and all who were so kind.
Finally a wonderful meal at Mulligan's. We keep going back for restaurant week hoping for a good experience. We got it this time. The waitress was good. The food was very good and the sunset was excellent. We got there and ate before a large party arrived. This made for much better service than we've had in the past. All and all it was a wonderful 29th Anniversary dinner.
Food was not good at all! Fish of the day was way over cooked. Salad was over dressed and seemed to have canned pineapple on it (in Hawai‘i, why not fresh?). Vegetarian curry was ok, was listed as “gluten free” but was served with non-gluten free soda bread!
We reserved a table for the Willie K show at Mulligans. This show included dinner and the music entertainment. The table we had was excellent, chairs somewhat uncomfortable but ok. Food was good, service was good and the Willie K show was exceptional. We will return to see his performance the next time we are in Maui
We wanted something casual for our first night in Maui so we decided on an Irish Pub! Yes, I know, you can go to any state and visit an Irish pub. However, check the entertainment because they had a really cool jazz band and also a very popular, so I was told, local singer. It was a great time and we all enjoyed our first night.
We took our 7 year old to the Tuesday magic show on July 11, 2017. David, the magician was great and included every child in the restaurant at some point during his show. The place was packed and short handed due to a very large wedding party outside. There was only one waitress for the entire inside area. She was friendly and worked exceptionally hard to keep everyone attended to. We had a great time and food was good
Beautiful views & good music. The food was good - not great, but good. The outdoor area was the best, but the tables & chairs looked old & run down. They could have made this so much nicer with updated tables & chairs.... or even if they added table cloths. They had live music that was very good.
While the food was fantastic, the service left quite a bit to be desired. By the time I was done eating I couldn't wait to get out of there. When we arrived the hostess was incredibly flustered. She sat us outside, which is what we requested, and said she'd be back with water. But then we were completely forgotten about while two other tables, who didn't have reservations that we could tell (though they might have, it was loud as there was a magician performing), those tables got water and a waiter while we continued to wait. We finally had to flag down a bus boy to go find our waiter. We ordered a glass of wine and our food. The wine was pretty awful, I didn't finish it. Wasn't offered a taste to make sure it was what I wanted, just got a huge glass of it. Our food came out and we had to send the server back to get us silverware. When we finally got the check, we stuck our card in it and waited, and waited, and waited. We finally had to take the check back up to the hostess to find someone to run the card so we could sign it and get out of there. So all told, the food is great, but the service is so bad that it's just not worth it. Head down to Nick's or Ko's at the Fairmont or up the hill to the restaurant at the Hotel Wailea. Just skip Mulligans.
Second times a charm. We had a disappointing first experience here, but gave them a second chance and went back again. We were definitely not disappointed this time! The food was great, the service was great, and the atmosphere was great. We celebrated my husbands birthday here and were treated very special!
Willy K was fantastic, but he was the only thing good about Mulligans-food worse than actual pub food, more like banquet or cafeteria meal, grossly overpriced for the result, service highly dependent on table and server.. Eat somewhere else, go for the concert.
Our first time visiting this restaurant & unfortunately we had a bad experience. However, the owner reached out to us to apologize and invite us back again. We are now looking forward to visiting again and are optimistic about having a better experience.
The food however was excellent!
While the servers tried to be attentive, our dessert order had to be repeated 3 times and steak brought wasn't as ordered. We were there early & place was pretty empty when we ordered. Maybe they should WRITE DOWN orders. Also one of the servers had a heavy accent & seemed to mumble & was therefore unintelligible. However, the food was delicious! The gravy served with the steak was so yummy; I'd go back just to have that again.
We were there for the Wailea Restaurant Week. I had some fabulous seafood chowder but the rest of the meal was average. There was an end of school party so the noise level was quite loud which we didn't mind for that particular evening but it might have been annoying if we wanted a quiet night.
Usually a great place, have come here many times over the years, but, more than once they didn't have something on the menu or run out of specials, This time it was the filet was too bad to serve. And the Mojito was served in a beer tumbler and tasted horrible, had to send it back and get a KALIBER.
Usually, a great place
