Mucca Osteria Ratings and Reviews
simply a fabulous dinner. They were doing 2 sous vide entrees so we opted for the ribeye cooked in a bag and then seared and a stuffed pasta course. Appetizers were a traditional prosciutto and Italian mozzerella dish along with a separate seared scallops course. Dessert was a lemon panacota. though we did not ask they split each appetizer created 2 elegant plates for each course. every dish was wonderful. Only complaint was that restaurant was too warm
While planning our trip to Portland, we stumbled across Mucca by chance through various online searches and I am sure glad we did. We loved it so much that during our 4 night stay, we ended up eating there twice and it did no disappoint. The location, ambiance, service and most importantly food, were all spectacular. I literally cannot say enough good things. The scallop appetizer and duck main course were out of this world. I look forward to a return trip just to visit Mucca again. Keep up the fantastic work!
We ate upstairs. Usually I avoid 2nd floor dining areas but this is an exception. Cosy, dark, quiet, lovely small bar. The food at Mucca is Italian and excellent. The service is unobtrusive: servers are there when you need them; quiet, helpful with wine and food selections. I definitely will return. Oh, and prices are reasonable for this kind of quality and location.
When I visit Portland, I always make at least one stop at this restaurant. The service is so personal and professional and the food made with care. You will find seasonal and local ingredients on the menu. I've never had something that I was disappointed in. Be sure to add this to your list if you are a foodie and/or are having a nice date or special dinner out.
i have had dinner at mucca twice in the past month. both meals were perfect. starting with delicious in house made breads to delicious appetizer (carpaccio and burrata wrapped with prosciuto), spot on entrees and perfect desserts (i've tried three). this place is magic.
Excellent Italian restaurant situated in an eclectic part of town. It is wedged between an Iranian and a Lebanese restaurants. Very knowledgeable and attentive waiters.
Beside the regular items on the menu, it offers daily specials. Not to miss the desserts!!
Our table was ready and we were quickly seated upstairs. The drinks (Manhattans) were beautifully presented and perfectly prepared. The food was exquisite and beautiful. Service was friendly, attentive, and quick. A large party at the adjacent table made quiet conversation difficult, but did not dampen our overall enjoyment.
We were visiting Portland from the Seattle area and I was determined to find a great dinner. I did a ton of research on all the sites to see who had the best ratings for dinner downtown. Mucca Osteria was on every list.
The atmosphere was quaint and the service was first class. We enjoyed the Tortelli ai Funghi and the Pappardelle al Cinghiale. Both were outstanding! The pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauces were perfectly executed.
I can see why it was so highly rated, and I would definitely recommend it!
Mucca feels dropped into Portland from Italy. The food is marvelous - clean-your-plate delicious while also being very elegant. The service is attentive and unobtrusive. Our sever was very knowledgeable and seemed genuinely happy to guide us to through a meal suited to our palates and appetites. This place is a gem! We look forward to returning soon.
We had a beautiful evening. Excellent, distinctive six-course meal. Perfectly paced and ending with the delightful presentation of plate with Happy Birthday written in chocolate and a candle topping the best pana cotta I’ve ever tasted. I had indicated in notes that we were celebrating my husband’s birthday, and the hostess even greeted us with a birthday greeting to Rick. We were treated like special guests all evening!
We have been there many times and are never disappointed. Though we say we need to try other appetizers we almost always have the marvelous scallops. Choosing between the pasta and risotto course is always a challenge. These options are always special. The meat/fish options are also great. Beside steak there is often rabbit or venison which are not easily found on menus nor prepared so well. The service is special too.
This was my first time in Portland and went to this restaurant with my daughter and son-in-law. We are all foodies and were hoping for a great experience, we were not disappointed!! The food was superb, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere fun but also intimate. If I ever get a chance to go back to Portland Mucca will be on the list of restaurants I would go to again.
