Great, attentive, helpful, knowledgeable service
Amazingly tasty food
I loved everything about this place!
As out of town visitors we went there for my husband’s birthday. Everyone and everything was wonderful. The food was delicious as well as beautiful to look at. I also noticed that there were a significant amount of good looking staff there too ..... just in case you are interested
Wonderful food, service and atmosphere. A real Portland gem.
We have been going there regularly since soon after it opened. We have never had a bad meal. Tonight we were pleased with new menu items and specials.
If you're hoping for Sicilian food, this is not the place; the only thing Sicilian is the leg triangle on the wall. Food preparation apparently leans toward the au courant, which is not my cup of tea.
Service was wonderful and made up for a lot. Wine selection good. Breads terrific and accompanied by a fruity olive oil. A request for salt resulted in a quick production of flaky sea salt with the server's understanding it was intended for the dipping oil.
I probably won't go back until the menu, food preparation no longer features sous vide.
Went to Mucca for my husband's birthday, just as we did last year. Absolutely amazing. We splurge and get the tasting menu with the wine pairings. Everything was wonderful. Especially enjoyed the oxtail appetizer on toast and the rabbit ragu pasta. Recommend it unconditionally.
Great waitstaff, many who speak Italian- always plus for Italian restaurant. Food was nicely presented and tasty- pasta could have been warmer.
We enjoyed an amazing dining experience with a chef’s tasting dinner for ten. The service and the food were unparalleled. Thank you Mucca Osteria!
Service was great. Knowledgeable and attentive servers.
But the food was the reason we came to Mucca and we were not blown away. We were expecting more. It was underwhelming. There was nothing special or memorable from the appetizers and main courses we ordered. The foie gras flavor didn’t come out from their foie gras dish. The prosciutto and cheese was mediocre. The white truffle pasta was not memorable. We’ve been to better Italian restaurants in Portland.
Phenomenal food and wine pairings on the chef's tasting menu. However, management of reservations is poor. When we arrived for our 8:30 reservation, there were 4 couples ahead of us who were waiting for their own reservations, which were now past due. We weren't seated until close to 9, and the staff seemed only marginally apologetic. For all the outstanding food in Portland, I'd probably choose somewhere else next time.
Excellent modern Italian with just a bit of (well integtated) molecular gastronomy. Highly recommended.
Great food and outstanding service. It was a celebration dinner with some old friends and the evening was perfect.
The service was very good at first, then trailed off about half way thru the meal. The wine we selected was not available, nor was the second one.....suggest wine menu be kept up to date. Our table for two was actually too small to be easy or comfortable.
The tram a few ft from the window where we were seated was so loud it was difficult to hear my date. The tasting menu was only what one of us wanted, but you have to BOTH get it OR NOT at all. This needs to be re-thought.
Otherwise a fairly enjoyable dining experience.
My husband and I went to Mucca Osteria for the first time to celebrate a special date night. We didn’t know what to expect but what we discovered was a place that was romantic yet comfortable...incredible, authentic Italian menu where everything we ordered was fresh and vibrant with flavor...and the service was impeccable and really made us feel special and well cared for which really made such a difference to our overall experience.
We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a special Italian dining experience and we can’t wait to go back again!
Very mediocre food. Not sure how it stays busy. I guess it’s because Portland is a fairly mediocre city with few exceptions.
Food was exquisite! Awesome service!
We were tow old friends who hadn't seen each other for awhile We had excellent pasta, good wine and great dessert. The restaurant was quiet enough so we could have a nice conversation. Also we had a great Italian waiter.
While the food and service were good, the overall experience did not live up to our expectations. There are many fine Italian restaurants in the Portland area and while this is one of them, it was not our favorite.
This was our 3rd trip to Mucca. The food is amazing and the service is outstanding. My only comment would be the menu choices have not changed much in the past 2.5 years. Given the level of talent at this restaurant it would be good to keep the dinner choices ever changing on the menu.
Food was excellent...had a truffle risotto with quail bites...really tasty. Service was a bit slower than our previous trip but still very polite and professional. The complimentary birthday dessert was quite nice. Overall very good experience
Excellent food and service. Will definitely return and recommend.
Mucca is hands down my favorite restaurant in Portland. If you want the best service and amazing food, this is the place to go. The service is Michelin caliber. I have been there a few different times and each time I am more impressed. The food is Italian heaven with great presentation. It is a smaller setting which I greatly enjoy, the vibe is calm and excellent. A must try!
There were many wait staff available, but it felt as though we waited a bit longer than necessary to receive our drinks and food, but everything that did arrive was pretty much perfect. The prices were reasonable for the portions and the drinks were delicious. The restaurant was chilly, but I think that's a symptom of the older building. I'd come back here again, but I'd set aside more than 2 hours as the dining experience is very laid back here.
It’s was a good overall
Exceptional food, service, atmosphere and overall experience.
Went for a Birthday dinner. Got the 6 course tasting menu. A bit pricey but for sure worth it. Excellent service and presentation. Everything was perfect. Highly recommend the 6 course tasting menu. Hands down best place I have eaten in Portland!
Amazing authentic Italian experience. Everything was fresh, and homemade from bread to pasta. Tuna tartare melted in your mouth. Huge Italian wine selection. Lovely experience, kind of noisy and a bit annoyed that after making reservations a month in advance, we were seated directly in the middle of the floor upstairs, at a small table with a spotlight directly on it, even though there were other better small tables vacant that were more intimate .The food and date night w/ husband, outweighed the disappointment in seating, but just a suggestion for improvement in future.
High quality service and excellent food: special menu offerings were very tempting although the main menu had a good range of choices. The seared scallops appetizer was highlighted by the parmesan cheese spread that really gave it a unique flavor. The roasted boar pasta dish was enjoyed by three of my fellow diners and the sous vide pork shoulder was extremely tender. Dessert Tiramisu was delicious. the waiter was not only adept at service and his knowledge of the food --he was very helpful in selecting a fine bottle of italian wine.
Food was phenomenal! A hidden gem downtown.
Everything from the ox tail brusketta
It always a favorite and never disappoints. Have the Scallop app!
Amazing food and attentive staff - top notch all around!
Great food. Pork shoulder was excellent.
Our favorite place we always think of to return to!!
The best . food was excellent and service superb.
Stellar service. Absolutely delicious food. Knowledgeable wait staff and sommelier. This is the perfect place for a romantic dinner. Portions are small but very fulfilling. The sauces are perfect. You really can’t go wrong. Have fun
One of the top restaurants on the west coast! Mucca Osteria never disappoints. World class cuisine, service, and wine list.
