Incredible, delicious food. The squid ink pasta dish is phenomenal. The staff are amazing.
This was our first time here. The food was fantastic. This was the kind of food that you remember years later and tell all of your friends about. Our waiter was amazing as well. We were also very impressed with the service from our host and food runners. Overall we had an amazing time and will definitely be back!
Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. Would eat there again without question.
The food was outstanding and the wine (from Sicily) was one you'd never find at a local store and put most US reds to shame. The chef brought us our main dishes personally and inquired how we were enjoying our meal. We had selected the 6 course 'Chef's choice' menu and were not disappointed with the taste and variety of dishes we sampled.
The service was good+; attentive to our requests but a little slow at times.
Outstanding all around. My fiancé and I came to celebrate our engagement, and chose the tasting menu. Each dish was beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. A wonderful choice for a romantic night out.
The food was superb but also, in this time of QR code ordering, it was so nice and refreshing to have waitstaff (every single person) be so knowledgeable and helpful and pleasant.
Mucca Osteria is simply brilliant. In this day of commissary kitchens Mucca stands out as a freshly prepared and artistically plated dining experience.
My wife and I started with the chilled fresh corn soup with hazelnuts and microgreens. My wife had the pan seared fresh halibut and I had the venison ragu Tagliatelle. Both entrees were simple stuuning. For dessert L1 we had the panna cota and tiramisu that were brilliant. The wine list is extraordinary with quality wines at all price ranges.
The service from the server to the sommelier was by far the best in Portland. For a fine dining experience there is no better place than Mucca Osteria!
Pros - bistecca cooked properly, spaghetoni Alan grichia was fine, tortellini was good. My wife ordered the venison ragu pasta, the item featured prominently on their website. She was served ground beef and pasta and it was nothing like what was shown. We thought it was more akin to chili mac than Italian fine dining. The kitchen had two cooks and it took 30+ minutes between first course and entrees, and everyone in the restaurant was looking around wondering when food would arrive. Staff brought bread and was nice. At one point, the waitress said she checked with the chef and the entrees would be here soon, and they arrived 15 minutes or more later. There are too many other great dining options inPortland. This was a clear miss.
High quality food and service. We loved it!!
A quaint setting in downtown Portland with handmade delicious pasta, fun cocktails, an extensive wine list and the most satisfying Italian food around.
Lovely way to spend our wedding anniversary together:) 10/10, would recommend! :)
Beautifully presented food in generous portions. The wait staff were attentive and helpful.
Mucca was an unexpected find. After a somewhat cumbersome wait for our table (could not wait in the restaurant because it was too "cozy") we were seated. The restaurant is quite small with only a few tables so reservations are recommended. We enjoyed all the dishes we ordered to include the Fruta De Mare and the Prosciutto and Baretta which was outstanding. Good place for a romantic dinner or anniversary.
A busy Friday night is always a risky proposition. They were clearly busy and there were some early hiccups that needed to be overcome. A bit of chaos seating the time slot put us on edge. Wearily, we waited quite a while for a bottle of wine that ultimately proved out of stock. Things were heading in the wrong direction, I was frustrated as our antipasto arrived without a bottle on the table.
Everything improved instantly when a substitute bottle appeared with a very accurate and precise description from our knowledge host. She selected a bottle that saved the night. It was clear she knew her cellar and delivered a bottle that met the profile of our original selection.
The food was excellent. A chilled corn soup and a creative halibut main for me and a well-dressed salad and standout eggplant/pasta for her. Desserts and espressos both hit the spot and the attentive service left us quite satisfied.
As we all emerge from a rough year and servers and diners alike shake the rust off, a few hiccups are expected. A professional handles them with grace and overcomes them. We were in good hands!
Over all a great a great experience - a spot that hopefully continues to thrive downtown
It was perfect!
The wait staff was excellent!
The food amazing.
It was wonderful, as usual. We come here often and are never disappointed. This time we mentioned that it was a birthday so we got extra special treatment.
If its your first time i cant recommend the tasting menu enough. Ours was 150/person with wine. The pairings are spot on and food phenomenal
Incredible food, started with bread and delicious olive oil. We had the tuna tartar which was a perfect blend of citrus and avocado. Our dishes were incredible. I had the ricotta and asparagus tortelli which was unbelievable and my partner had the basil pesto spaghetti special. It was a lovely night and the staff was very friendly. Highly recommend!
Not my first time here. The food is always amazing and our server was delightful. I will be going back😋
The tasting menu was fantastic & beautiful presentation.
Our fave in Portland. Great for date night, special occasions. Staff is knowledgable and welcoming. Food always great. Wine list excellent. We moved to Portland from SF and Mucca is up there with are favorite there: the legendary Acquerello.
We had a fabulous time! Food was incredible and interesting. Service was phenomenal! Will definitely return as soon as possible! :-))
An ok dinner- we were double charged for our wine but caught it. Pork overcooked, wine delish, menu feels overpriced, but was ok.
This is the perfect date or special occasion restaurant. Everything is good, but the 6 course menu and a bottle of Prosecco is the way to go!
Very high level of customer service.
My mother and I came to celebrate her birthday and we were treated with the best of service. 10/10 recommend. Definitely coming back!
Every dish on the tasting menu was fabulous with near perfect wine pairings. Definitely back to pre pandemic level quality
Booked this restaurant after reading reviews for a birthday meal in Portland, a city we were visiting. They were nicely accommodating when i called to ask if we could push our reservation up an hour, and they gave us a nice table on the upstairs level, where there were only five or six tables with mostly larger parties. Without going into great detail, I will say that the food was delicious. I gave fewer stars on ambiance only because the host mentioned to everyone coming upstairs after us that it was nice and cold upstairs — it wasn’t very hot outside — and I had to ultimately ask them to lower the thermostat because I was freezing. Once again, very responsive which I appreciated. My only complaint is that it appeared — could be my imagination — that once we determined we were going a la carte and not ordering the tasting menu, we were kind of forgotten about. Our courses were delivered by a variety of different people; the people getting the tasting courses had the ingredients identified when the plate was put on the table, in our case — and we were ordering some of the same dishes — we had to catch someone’s attention to ask for an explanation of what we had been served. We waited a longer time than would be usual in a restaurant such as this for our plates to be cleared, and our table was never cleaned off. I’m not hard to please at restaurants, and because it was my birthday, I may have had higher expectations than normal, but I will say that ultimately, the lax service took away from my enjoyment of eating there. They do get kudos, however, for calling me when they found that my boyfriend had left his credit card behind and they were happy to bring it out to our car since it was after the restaurant had closed for the night.
Everything was perfect from beginning to end
The food was delicious! Highly recommend the beef carpaccio and the venison ragu!
good food and the martinis were excellent! would definitely recommend the tortellini.
My husband and i came here for a spontaneous romantic dinner and loved it! The staff, food and space was amazing.
The wait staff was horrible and didn’t even tell us the kitchen was closing even though we had yet to order main dishes, let alone dessert. The waiter never came back to pour our wine after our glasses went empty, and the head chef had the nerve to come outside and yell “thanks for coming in!” Smugly after we told them how dissatisfied we were with our experience
Eating at Mucca is always a delightful experience.
We had a wonderful time. Did the tasters menu, and while some were more exceptional than others, all were quite good. Very much enjoyed!
It was outstanding from beginning to end!
Great ingredients and obvious skill in the kitchen spoiled by amateur service and very slow pacing between courses (more than 30 minutes between primi and secondi when the restaurant is half full and the chef is very obviously not doing anything in the kitchen, and despite two reminders that we were waiting on our course?). Also, wine list is short and most bottles are $100 plus.
Wonderful as always. Amazing food with amazing wine list!
