This place always exceeds expectations. The service is exceptional and the food is phenomenal. This is truly a hidden gem in Portland.
Never disappointed! Always great service and food!
We had a wonderful experience when we went for my birthday dinner. The food was delicious, and the service was attentive. They were out of the wine I requested, but offered a great alternative. Highly recommend this restaurant!
incredible food and an impressive Italian wine list. Had the Pasta with butter and truffles. one of the best pasta's I have ever tasted. Food made with care and all with top shelf ingredients. I will be back!
Sat at the corner counter seats and enjoyed the chefs cooking up some of the most amazing and delicious food! Definitely worth every bit
The sommelier was fabulous, the food was excellent and so was the service. They were incredibly accommodating when we decided to split a few dishes. So many wonderful things to try! The scallops as an appetizer was great, and the chocolate dessert was amazing and beautifully presented.
Referred by a friend for a special dinner with an out of town friend. Amazing food and service. Definitely try the Chefs 6 or 9 tasting dinner. Well worth the cost.
Went here for a second time last night and had another amazing meal. They make their bread and pasta fresh, every menu item we have had (from appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts) has been fantastic and delicious. Wonderful wine menu that they are happy to share a wealth of information about to help with your decision and top notch staff. I am a huge fan of any dish with truffles and they often have one on menu as well as a special with it incorporated. They let me alter the special to make it vegetarian. This place is wonderful and a must try! Please note, while it was accommodating for a vegetarian, I am not sure there is much for vegan options. Also, make a reservation if possible. The location, while lovely, is small and there is no room for waiting and they are always full.
Great atmosphere and the food was amazing. Great place for a date
When I visit Portland, Mucca Osteria is always on my list. Rare is this restaurant. The food is fantastic (if you get a chance, dine at the chef's counter and watch the creating) and the staff is like a fine ballet. I had my waiter, Sylvano (excellent!), and also 3 or 4 other people attending to me. They all have great knowledge about the wine, the food. They expedite the food immediately when ready, keeps eyes open for clearing, water etc. This is really a team to make you experience fantastic. You really must check it out. It's romantic, too, should you find yourself needing a place for a date.
Wonderful! We had an excellent dinner. ( the mushroom tortelli were incredible) The service was outstanding, the presentation beautiful. The staff is friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. We will return in our next visit to Portland.
This is not like most higher end Portland restaurants in that the service level is fantastic. Feels like something you’d find in a larger city. Everything was great, from cocktails to appetizers to main course and wine. Will definitely return.
Everything we had was excellent. Service was provided by charming, courteous, well-informed young men who were very helpful in answering questions, making recommendations, describing menu items, etc. This was a repeat visit, and we'll definitely be back for more delightful experiences at Mucca Osteria. We enthusiastically recommend it to others.
Beyond expectations: Best Italian fine dining in Portland.
Incredible and authentic Italian food, top notch service, and a fabulous wine list. Absolutely loved this place!
Mucca continues to be my favorite restaurant in Portland because it has consistently delivered an overall high-quality dining experience. There are elements I would change about Mucca if I had a magic wand, but we have found no other Portland restaurants that gave us a better experience. Special pluses are a central downtown location, excellent wine list, very attentive service, and very good cooking.
This is hands down one the best upscale restaurants in Portland! We are foodies and frequent up to 25+ new places a year and bar none some of the best food and wine you can get! The staff is amazing, the food is just the right portion and made from scratch! If you live in Portland or traveling through you must stop in to see this awesome team work together!

Everything was wonderful. I brought a friend from out of town and he was very impressed with Mucca. One of my favorite places in Portland.
This place was fantastic. My husband and I each each had a different special and I could not be happier. I had the prosciutto and burrata appetizer and it was to die for. I had a ravioli dish and my husband had salmon. Yum. Would definitely go back next time we are in town.
Amazing as always. We shared 2 appetizers and they placed them on two separate plates! Food amazing, pasta amazing .... fantastic place!!
Great service and good food. Multo buono! We’ll be back again
Excellent food and service. Unique menu with great Italian cuisine. Great wine selection and knowledgeable, professional servers.
Lovely in every way
Another perfect dining experience at Mucca Osteria. Nicholas, Carter, and the rest of the team were truly fabulous. If you want outstanding food, service, wine, & atmosphere...go to Mucca Osteria.
This restaurant and the people who run it are AMAZING! I've eaten at a lot of Portland's wonderful restaurants and Mucca is always in the top section of my list. It's a wonderfully cozy space that can get a bit loud at times. The food/wine as well as tremendous service staff do an amazing job. Get the wine pairings with your meal or ask for recommendations...not only will you get a great wine paired with your food, but you'll also learn so much about Italian wines. I've been here a number of times and plan to keep going back.
We dined at Mucca last night to celebrate my sweetheart’s birthday. Everything from the prompt greeting to a perfect table to attentive, non-hurried pace to three splendidly prepared dishes made for a wonderful experience. Oftentimes when a special occasion is mentioned through Opentable, the occasion is forgotten, but Mucca made sure to mark the occasion with a specially crafted dessert that capped a memorable night. My heartfelt recommendation for this place goes out to anyone considering dining here. Five stars indeed.
Really looked forward to this dining experience, but was somewhat of a disappointment. The food good the presentations were good, however the portions were very small. It was an expensive evening and we came away feeling that it not worth the price.
All of fine dining was so good and nice for family.
Great, attentive, helpful, knowledgeable service
Amazingly tasty food
Great experience
I loved everything about this place!
As out of town visitors we went there for my husband’s birthday. Everyone and everything was wonderful. The food was delicious as well as beautiful to look at. I also noticed that there were a significant amount of good looking staff there too ..... just in case you are interested
We have been going there regularly since soon after it opened. We have never had a bad meal. Tonight we were pleased with new menu items and specials.
Wonderful food, service and atmosphere. A real Portland gem.
If you're hoping for Sicilian food, this is not the place; the only thing Sicilian is the leg triangle on the wall. Food preparation apparently leans toward the au courant, which is not my cup of tea.
Service was wonderful and made up for a lot. Wine selection good. Breads terrific and accompanied by a fruity olive oil. A request for salt resulted in a quick production of flaky sea salt with the server's understanding it was intended for the dipping oil.
I probably won't go back until the menu, food preparation no longer features sous vide.
This was our second visit to Mucca. Our first was wonderful. Second visit was in the end great, but at first we were stuffed upstairs facing the back with very loud crowded tables around us and non-existent waitstaff until we began to put our jackets on and leave. Finally we had some attention and were taken downstairs to a table which was private and more quiet. Our service improved immeasurably, and the food was superb.
We plan to return yet hope we won't have to almost leave before we are given good service.
Went to Mucca for my husband's birthday, just as we did last year. Absolutely amazing. We splurge and get the tasting menu with the wine pairings. Everything was wonderful. Especially enjoyed the oxtail appetizer on toast and the rabbit ragu pasta. Recommend it unconditionally.
Great waitstaff, many who speak Italian- always plus for Italian restaurant. Food was nicely presented and tasty- pasta could have been warmer.
We enjoyed an amazing dining experience with a chef’s tasting dinner for ten. The service and the food were unparalleled. Thank you Mucca Osteria!
We had reservations and arrived about twenty minutes early. There were empty tables from late arrival reservations which was fine except the hostess handled the communication very poorly and we were made to feel like unwanted guests. She has a frenzied energy and her body language and words communicated that. We would have taken a counter seat but, that was not offered and she instead gave that to a party that walked in that said they had a reservation but, she couldn't find it. After waiting for quite some time we were offered a table of two for our party of three that was in a heavy traffic area and if you added a chair, would have been quite uncomfortable. I communicated directly to the hostess how I/we were made to feel when she was seating us. There was no I am so sorry you felt that way, just justification and clearly the communication to the server didn't go well as we were getting stared at from behind the bar area and conversation being had. once the hostess was out of the picture, the service went fine and our server seemed to be fine with us and food was good. Not over the top but, good. The presentation of all the food we had, was excellent.
Service was great. Knowledgeable and attentive servers.
But the food was the reason we came to Mucca and we were not blown away. We were expecting more. It was underwhelming. There was nothing special or memorable from the appetizers and main courses we ordered. The foie gras flavor didn’t come out from their foie gras dish. The prosciutto and cheese was mediocre. The white truffle pasta was not memorable. We’ve been to better Italian restaurants in Portland.
