the food is decent but way over priced.
Waited only 10 minutes for the table. Great waiter. Name is Kirby and he is
spectacular. We are a demanding group and he was excellent. Very patient and
The hostess and server were not as professional as we are use to in dining. the server did not even ask us if we wanted dessert. the break came out warm but stale. This is an old trick. The scallops with lobster sauce was good.
Great spot. Very nice. Would highly reccomend!!!!!!!!!!
very disappointed ..four of us received meals all of which were very poor quality taste we were unable to eat our meals due to the poor quality and taste.. our waiter had 0 personality and gave little attention to us...we will never go back here or recommend to others
server was not well trained. Food was just average. Why this place draws such a crowd is beyond me.
The BEST grilled cheese sandwich I have EVER had!!! I wanted comfort food, and that sandwich, coupled with really good tomato basil bisque, was PERFECT!
This was our first trip to Mt. Washington Tavern and we were favorably impressed. When we arrived, we thought that we were going to pass the evening in a local bar scene atmosphere, but we were taken to a back dining room that had a totally different decor. What a surprise! The variety in the menu meant that everyone could tailor dinner to what suited them. The food was well prepared and portions were huge. We would definitely go back and we would definitely recommend it.
I was not impressed. Southwest eggrolls didn't taste Mexican/southwest and looked like they sat in the deep fry grease for days. The Angus burger was very good. My friend ordered the Thai Chicken salad and that was average tasting as well. Dessert was uneventful - a chocolate sundae was a small bowl of vanilla icecream with some chocolate syrup poured over it. I asked to be seated in a booth and was told that they didn't have booths for only 2 people; however later in the evening, I saw couples in booths. After sunset the restaurant became very dark inside. They walked me from the front of the restaurnt to the large room, through a hall that had smelly trash bags in it. Didn't much help my appetite. Probably won't go back.
The bar staff was attentive. The food was great. The service was fine. The back room is much to dark to read the menu.
Disappointed in the serving staff. Very cold and not friendly.
Great food, great drinks, great service!
Mt Washington Tavern was a wonderful experience.
Just found out there was a fire, hopefully they recover and rebuild
My first time there and I will definitely go again. It was a birthday celebration for an dear friend and she loved it. What a nice staff, also.
I really enjoyed what I had despite they ran out of pie for my alamode. They accomadated well with a smore!
When we arrived, the main dining room was almost empty, three sm parties dinng. We asked not to sit in the large open area under the atrium, but in a booth. A rather snippy, hippy type young hostess said that booths were only for parties greater than 2. We did take the table given to us. Later, although the room was still fairly empty she placed families with several small children on both sides of us; it became hard to talk with the children's noise leve. On another note, the menu was soiled, and generally beyond well worn. Gives a poor first impression. The crab cake as just average, and the sm. steak also just fair. Will not come back. Lots of other places on the same block to try.
The food was great! Good lunch menu for restaurant week.
I had not been to the Mt.Washington Taven for awhile. The menu is so varied,it takes awhile to make a decision.(a good thing)The food I chose was delicous:a salad with shrimp and crab. The sunny bright center room is so inviting.
Delicious food as always. The specials are not to be missed.
We were disappointed that the restaurant did not pay attention to our request for a specific table. The kitchen was very slow. The service was great. Lauren was very attentive and very apologetic for the mistakes. Send out raw oysters instead of fried oysters. Then told me they did not have any fried oysters so I ordered a burger, which was ok. My husband had the pancakes and said they were delicious.
The food her is always reliably good. The Garden Room is bright and cheerful.
Server was excellent and very flexible.
Love the garden room. All four of us enjoyed the food.
Nice staff. Will return.
Mt. Washington Tavern remains a gem in the Baltimore dining scene.
We went for Father's Day and were so disappointed. The restaurant was not crowded, but it took 50 minutes for our food to arrive. The banana pancakes were soaked in so much syrup that they were inedible (usually restauarants let the patrons put the syrup on themselves, so this was a surprise). The waitress waited 30 minutes to refill our coffee, and that was after repeated requests for a refill. Needless to say, we definitely won't be going back.
We attended the Hopewell event and we were terribly disappointed. The service was deplorable. There was what I would consider a typical dinnertime crowd but the service was slow and the food was fair at best once it finally did arrive. We waited mre than an hour after we ordered to start complaining!! Then had to send back one of the meals at the table (ordered medium rare and it came char-black!) While I love the event and their support of Hopewell, I would reconsider attending in the future.
we ordered appetizers that never arrived. food was OK. my friends and I will not be going back there.
The food was really not very good. It wasn't bad, but it was nothing special at all. Our appetizer had ZERO flavor, which is hard to do considering it was raw fish.
We so rarely get out of the house, so when we do, we get very excited about it. We chose the Mount Washington Tavern based on its website, which makes it look atmospheric and the menu looked something special. In reality, the place was none of those things. We were very disappointed and do not plan on going back again. Our server was nice.
This was the worst tasting food I've had in many years, from the apps, which were oversalted and funny tasting, to the swordfish, which tasted like a pile of charcoal. Awful, awful food.
Try the grilled cheese sandwiches -- a great twist on a favorite comfort food!
Great variety of foods on the menu. Kid friendly.. We ate in the "Garden Room," loved it! We will be back!
Used to love this place and hadn't been in a while. It was very disappointing...poor service, uninspired flavorless food..Teenage kids agreed! Back to TARKS!
Good food. Inconsistent service.
I was disappointed in the Mt. Washington Tavern. The food was very pricey and just o.k... We were the youngest people there and we're in our 50's... so.. that being said it seemed like a nice spot for older couples..
Great, loud, vibrant bar scene but we were led to an overflow hallway for dinner and the space was oddly isolated and crowded- we were sat directly next to one of the only other couples in the space- a bit awkward. This room was very quiet. Southwest rolls were awesome -really delicious!
So many interesting choices throughout the menu. I decided to trust the chef for the special that night and it was delicious, orange-brandy chicken. The two others dining with me had never been to Mt Washington Tavern before, and they kept saying how nice of a place it was and the food was very good.
Overall had a great experience.
Great time at the Tavern for Mothers Day. Food was great... they sat us early which was great. However the server could had been a bit more personal. She didn't seem very happy. My wife asked for one very small request and was snapped at "NO SPECIAL REQUEST" that was bit of a turn off.. but overall it was a good time...
My family and I went for brunch for Easter Sunday and it was excellent. The service was quick, the server was very pleasant and they offered everyone a complimentary glass of champagne or mimosa. Food was very good and they a pretty good selection for brunch type items. Certainly recommend the out back seating as we were in their sun room which was very nice.
