The atmosphere of our restaurant will enhance your dining experience with its original, beautiful, scenic oil paintings produced by Nepalese artists. Our experienced Head Chef is skilled in preparing the special dishes of India and Nepal. We prepare dishes to meet your taste preferences, be it mild, moderate, or spicy. We trust you will enjoy the taste of the Himalayas!
It was our first time in this restraunt and we really liked it. Food was good and service outstanding.
Nfood was ok - nothing special except for the poppadoms and the mango lassi
This place used to be amazing we had a terrible experience terrible food terrible service terrible terrible terrible really really bummed me out.
excellent all around. attentive service, fun atmosphere. great place to share good indian fare. we'll be back.
My wife and I first experienced Nepalese and Himalayan food when we lived in Bangkok and fell in love with the subtle spice differences compared to the Indian food we knew and enjoyed.
Mt. Everest is the first place we've eaten at that truly evokes the Spirit and the atmosphere of the great restaurants in Thailand. The food was superb as was the service. This wasn't the first time we visited and it won't be the last.
Good food and very good service. Also pleasant and in a fun and vibrant part of town.
I love this restaurant. Everyone is nice and helpful (albeit a bit forgetful and slow at times) and the food is excellent.
Would absolutely recommend Mt. Everest to anyone. This was my first time eating at an Indian restaurant and the food exceeded my expectations. So good. The service was great too. Will for sure be back.
This isn't fine dining. This is good, basic, Indian food in a very friendly, welcoming atmosphere. I went here with a friend with the intention of having a two hour conversation; we needed to be able to hear each other. Mt. Everest was perfect for us. We will return in a couple of months a do it again.
Great food. Authentic. Nice, attentive staff. Nice evening.
Service was good, they were polite and fast. I was disappointed by the food quality, nothing special.
Basic but the food is authentic Nepalese and its great
Bad and slow service
Great food, not so great service. We waited 15 min for our waiter to place the order. Food on the other hand was fantastic!
Valentines Evening dinner festive decor delicious food. Love this restaurant!
Great spot for Indian cuisine on the north shore. The staff was very accommodating, and the food is consistently good.
We reserved the table so we were seated immediately. We’ve eaten here a few times for special occasions and large groups and they never disappoint. The staff are attentive and friendly. We love eating here!
The food is Nepalese and Indian mountain food. We had both spicy and mild dishes and everything was superb. It was one of the best meals we’ve ever had in Evanston!
After sitting for an hour without seeing our food, we called the waitress over who said they had "a lot of catering orders" that night. We asked to see the manager who explained they were short-staffed in the kitchen. He offered to give us 25 percent off the total bill and a free round of drinks, which was nice. He also assured us the food would be out in 15 minutes. That 15 minutes turned into 30. When the food finally arrived, it was excellent. It's just too bad it took so long to get there.
This isn't the first time I've had service issues at this restaurant. But I continue to go back because the food is good -- particularly the chicken biryani and lamb vindaloo.
My advice: When you go (and you should), make sure you have plenty of time to wait.
Service a little slow but very welcoming and friendly, even with two kiddos, and food was wonderful.
I really like Mt. Everest. The food is excellent with many, many good menu choices (maybe too many) but the staff and kitchen seem to get overwhelmed with ease.
Very attentive staff; non vegetarian dinner for 2 was scrumptious and came out quickly. Cocktail was refreshing.
Wonderful spot for lunch. Loved the buffet. Plenty of options for all — carnivores and vegetarians alike. Friendly staff. Only complaint is we had never been and didn’t realize it was a buffet. No one explained when we were seated so we sat for some time hoping for a server. Staff was wonderfully helpful and pleasant once we reached out and clarified the situation! Will definitely return.
Very flavorful, nice variety of Indian and Nepalese dishes. Very friendly service.
Yummy Indian fare. Love the momos. The lamb vindaloo was nice and spicy. The chicken biryani was excellent as well. Our server was very attentive although they could clearly use a few more servers. We were there on a Friday evening and it got rather noisy. Overall, very good dining experience. Will definitely go back!
Great food, casual place, busy on a Saturday night.
Very nice welcoming, took a bit to get our drink order but once we did, everything was really smooth, flavorful food, pleasant service, would definitely come again!
The non vegetarian meal for 2 was excellent, slightly larger portion, It will not leave you hungry.
Always delicious and good service in pleasant room.
Usually very good service and food here. Last 2 visits have been disappointing. Service has been inattentive and food has taken much longer to prepare and be served. Once food did arrive the meats, lamb and chicken, were very dry and the sauces bland.
Had a great birthday dinner with my family. The food was flavorful and service was great.
Best Indian in Chicago area. Wait staff are excellent. Avoid wkend eves if you don’t want tons of noise. We usually go thurs eves for 1/2 price drinks
We wait 2 hours to get the food, thankfully we were talking and that distract us from the time.
Manager doesn't care about how long you wait and the food was not fully cooked.
The service was probably the worst service we have ever had. We sat for at least forty five minutes before we were given drinks. Fortunately the ambience is lively and pleasant and we were in no hurry but the service continued to be so slow that it became the topic of conversation. The appetizer sample was terrible but the rest of the dinner was satisfactory. If you don't mind sitting for a very long time, and you are ok with average food, then it can be a reasonable place to spend an evening.
Everything was great except for the chicken tikka masala. The chicken had been added to the sauce at the last moment and not cooked with it.
Great solid place
We were seated immediately, tablecloth was dirty with fresh food. We waited about 40 minutes for our food, which was delicious and served hot.
We shared our meals and everything was delicious. Great attentive prompt service.
Flavorful food and helpful waiters who accurately conveyed heat level of the spice in the food. Reliable spot. Repeat customer.
An evanston treasure - very well run - service , food and value top shelf .
Very good and delicious
