The food is usually very good. But the last time we were there my wife order the fish and grits and it was so grease she had to send it back. But we still really like it and we'll return. Just won't order the fish :)
As out of town guests, we were looking for a wow factor, and were a little underwhelmed with it all. We felt the ambiance captured online was not portrayed in person. We left contently fed but, would probably not recommend this establishment over others in the area.
The best biscuit gravy around. Oh so delicious! At our table; Flounder and Grits with cornbread and she loved it all. Someone else ordered the chicken with Mac & Cheese. 3 pieces of chicken! Service was great.
Did brunch. Driving so did not try bloody Mary bar or Mimosa's but others around us seemed to be enjoying.
It was a fun place. Salad was huge. Husband did not like the hash at all.
Love love Ms. Roses always good never had a bad meal there
We highly recommend the fried chicken, the carrot cake, and the cocktail called Another Kind of Painkiller.
Came for the brunch special and everything was amazing! Will be back!
I gave this restaurant an outstanding rating based on considering the class it's in -- not a 5 star restaurant, but excellent at what it does. We started with the fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese - just outstanding. You don't have to be an ardent fan of either to like this dish. We both had the short ribs - a very good dish. This was our first time here and for a local food, not fancy type of restaurant, it did not disappoint. We'll be back.
Our server was amazing and always right there when we needed something. Very personable.
Excellent food and service! Great fried chicken, calamari and boiled peanuts!
Had been wanting to try this place for a while. As a frequent visitor to Charleston, I enjoy finding new places to eat. I was very disappointed in this restaurant. Ordered a glass of Malbec- tasted like cough syrup. Ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes- soggy and under-seasoned. The tomato based topping tasted like "canned tomatoes"- salty and metallic. Had the Scallops for main course. Again, soggy, no crust and under-seasoned. The brussels were pretty good. The pimento cheese grits were bland and very thick. Just an extremely poor experience overall. The waitress was attentive and offered to get another appetizer but decided against it. Unfortunately, not a place I will return to or can recommend.
The food from the valentines day menu was well prepared. Our waiter seemed a little overwhelmed.
Better than expected. Good was really good. Prices a bit high but a good choice
It was just ok. There wasn't anything spectacular about the food and I thought it was a bit pricey. Service was a little slow with drink refills. Atmosphere was nice, modern but not sure I would make the drive from my town again.
Ms Tose’s had become a regular for us. We are never disappointed. Great food and wonderful atmosphere.
This is the first time here and we had to wait about 10 minutes to sit until they had more menu's. The place was hopping but once we sat our waiter was focused and had our food to us within 15 minutes after we first sat. The fried chicken was different but very good, especially with the sauce. The parm grits were so delicious but the mac and cheese was just okay. Overall, we would go back and try some other things on the menu.
Great food and service!
Best fried chicken in Charleston. Pleasant and excellent service too.
The best food I’ll ever eat in Charleston. We love coming here for lunch, brunch, dinner, you name it! Went for brunch this weekend and had the best spinach salad and French toast! Love this place and the atmosphere. Always a good time.
We just visited Ms. Rose’s the week prior for restaurant week. It was so good we came back for happy hour. The entire staff is friendly, the atmosphere is outstanding, and the menu has so many options I always get multiple things. Always money well spent.
Great family lunch
Went to Sunday brunch with friends and I couldn't have picked a better place.
There were 4 of ladies for lunch. 2 salads were good, but pricey. California Dreaming has a superior salad for less money. The fried green tomatoes and pimento cheese app was not tasty. We wanted to try the fried chicken signature dish, but $16 for a fried chicken lunch seemed very high. Service was outstanding.
The trout was amazing!!!
Love this place!! Go!! Absolutely no hesitation this place is great. I eat here for lunch and Dinner often.
Excellent service. Good food and menu choices. Excellent desserts! Setting is good for conversations between/among people.
Best crab cake ever. Decor was a little odd and tables a little too close together. Service was excellent.
I absolutely love Ms. Rose’s. My favorite meal here is Brunch because their Parmesan stone grits are the best I’ve ever tasted. You can’t go wrong with anything here as it’s all made with love and care! Bring your friends, the family, or dine by yourself and you’re sure to get a great meal for a great price EVERY time.
Good find, excellent service, composed meals were attractive and had a good balance of flavors. We've been looking for a good go-to restaurant in the Charleston area and believe we've found it. Will return to Mrs. Roses.
The food was excellent, I had the burger with Egg and Cheese, and my wife had the Seared Scallops. Good pricing, and the pretzel appetizer was awesome.
The food is great. Must see is the back dining room with it's "plate mural".
Awesome! Everything was so great about our dining experience. Our server, Levi was fantastic and took excellent care of us. My husband and I came in for dinner, shared the special crawfish/pepper jack cheese dip, very good. We were very impressed with the whole snapper special also, it was amazing!!! Also enjoyed the local greens salad. It was the best meal we've had in awhile. Compliments to the kitchen and staff for doing great work. Also, love that there is happy hour on Saturday. We will be back soon for a Tuesday Ramen Night, always a good idea!
I don't live nearby, but I wanted a great brunch without the hassle of downtown parking and remembered Ms Roses and I'm so glad I did! I'd never had brunch there, but have enjoyed dinner there a few times in the past, but it had certainly been a while. It was OUTSTANDING. As a vegetarian, I am often bored by what restaurants have to offer, but Ms Roses has a genuinely creative and delicious menu. My friend had the brisket sandwich and I had the Mushroom Benedict . We were raving between bites about our food. The mushroom was served two ways: one on top of a bed of sweet potato fries and the other on top of haricot verts (ok so they're green beans, but we're being fancy here) with a smear of balsamic between. I am not a grits person, but each mushroom was topped with some cheesy grits that would turn any naysayer! The eggs were perfectly poached. If I lived closer, it would certainly be my regular brunch spot. I'll be making the trip back over to west ashley the next time I have the chance!
We made a reservation in advance and when we arrived there was no wait. The waitress sat us at a table that was too small for 4 people in the middle of a walkway. The waitstaff throughout the night continually bumped into my chair or my purse when walking by. Our waitress was uninterested, and didn’t bring our drinks until after our appetizers arrived. She never checked to see how our food was when it arrived- and even then the food was average but pricey.
Phenomenal food! Best desserts! Friendly staff! We come here often and it is always great!
Had the fried green tomatoes for an appetizer. Really good. Both my dining companion and I ordered burgers. I got home fries and he got regular fries. The fries were cold when they brought us food. I mean not even warm. They got us new fries. The burger was ok but I honestly was expecting more flavor. The restaurant was very crowded so service was a little bit slow but not horrible. The waitress was actually quite pleasant. I will go back. I was just a little disappointed in the food this time.
Great food, very quiet in the booths, our server was terrific!
Very good atmosphere but very loud with a dj playing.
we Had fried calamari, grits and tomato ragout was delicious, calamari are tender, aoli was sweet which was weird. Fried chicken and Mac and cheese was delicious as well. The restaurant was extremely noise with TV,s everywhere. Better to describe Ms Rose’s as a sport bar than a southern cuisine restaurant.
This restaurant has never disappointed us. Ambiance is great and food is amazing.
