Went to dinner after a show. Seafood gumbo was not as good and tasted much different. Rest of food good. Service was average. No bread, no water or tea refills without asking. Forgot soup spoons with gumbo. Ticket incorrect when delivered.

Mr. B’s Bistro is now me and my wife’s favorite restaurant in New Orleans! The Maitre D was professional and sat us quickly for our reservation. We were served by Jeremy and Bryan who were both top notch in service and Jeremy had my wife and I laugh the whole time. The pork chop is something special and I’ve had some really good pork chops at high quality restaurants in Atlanta, but this one you will not be disappointed. Now I am a bourbon drinker so when I order an old fashion and the menu says premium liquor and I find out buffalo trace is what they consider premium I was a little disappointed, my only suggestion for improvement would be to increase the quality on what they consider premium bourbon- Angel’s envy minimum for an establishment of this quality. But all in all my wife and I really enjoyed our anniversary dinner here and the prices were reasonable for this caliber of a restaurant!

We had a reservation and seated quickly That was a plus! Alton was very attentive. We were seated by their station and were subjected to conversations among the staff we shouldn’t have been privy to. The steak and fries were cold. Instead of getting a fresh steak (medium rare), we were given the same steak, reheated! :( We weren’t charged for the steak. The turkey/dressing meal was warm when it arrived at the table. I expected a hot meal. Overall, our meals were sub par. Our appetizers and dessert were perfect 👍🏾 If we visit NOLA again, we might give Mr. B’s another opportunity.

As usual everything was great for Thanksgiving. It was crowded but we never felt rushed. The food was good with some rave reviews from 2 members of my party. Everyone was so helpful and accommodating especially since my mother was in a wheelchair. Thank you to the staff (Ken and Mimi and one other whose name we did not get) for making it a lovely Thanksgiving experience. Happy Holidays

We had a very poorly situated table and I was bumped the entire dinner. Our turkey dinner was served lukewarm. The house wine Pinot noir while good was much more expensive than some other good brands. Service was ok and somewhat abrupt. Very loud. While we realize things are different since the pandemic our experience for a previous experience was stellar. We won’t be back.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed each of our meals. We had turkey, steak, fish, and pork. Our two servers were on top of things. We would be pleased to come again and we would happily bring guests.

I normally love this restaurant, but the service the day before Thanksgiving was terrible. We waited an hour between the appetizers and the fish course. The "pecan encrusted trout" did not have a single piece of pecan on it. The waiter never checked to see if I wanted dessert. I had to grab someone else to ask for dessert and coffee. When the bill arrived, it was $35 more than it should have been. The gumbo, crab cake, bread pudding, and pumpkin cake were wonderful. The fish was not.

My husband and I both tried the barbecued shrimp and it was fantastic! Fries oyster appetizer was delicious as well! Our servers were Brett and Michelle, both very attentive and fun.

Seems this place has lost some luster. The food was really low quality. Service and kitchen were slow and h attentive. I’ve dined here many times over the years, and this was an anomaly. Too many great places in New Orleans to spend time here. Sad part is we cancelled at another great place to go here. What a missed opportunity.

Classic spot with heartwarming jazz trio at brunch. Timing was off in kitchen. Nearly 55 minute gap between appetizer and entree arrival and some of the entrees were not fresh off the line and had cooled. That aspect was disappointing.

The service was outstanding-one of the best(if not the best) in the city. The gumbo ya-ya was,as usual, superb. I would have rated the food as a 5 instead of a 4 except I was not thrilled with the taste of jambalaya with pasta instead of Louisiana rice. Also, would you consider adding some basic ice cream flavors to the dessert options for those of us looking for something a little less sweet or tart after a big meal?

This birthday lunch for my husband was everything we dreamed of! We were seated in the same window booth where we dined years ago. Greeted by the host with a “Happy Birthday!” Wait staff was spot on, friendly, and jovial. Our meal was exquisite. I ordered the BBQ shrimp (my favorite dish) and Jim went with the Bistro Burger, perfectly prepared. We shared the Duck spring rolls (excellent) and they brought us a bread pudding to share for dessert. Jim’s Bloody Mary was spicy and delicious. My martini was perfect, as was my second martini!! Mr. B’s hold fond memories for us and this return visit didn’t disappoint. Thanks to the entire team!

My wife had the hake and I had the shrimp and grits. Neither were outstanding. Service was slow and inattentive. I’m disappointed since I had great expectations for this place. I guess you pay more since you’re in the French Quarter but this was a forgettable meal.

We had a wonderful experience! Food was delicious and service was very good. 10/10 recommend asking to Alton as your server. He clearly takes pride in providing the most upscale dining experience for his customers. We loved Mr. B's and look forward to dining with them again next time we visit New Orleans!

Always a favorite, Mr. B's did not disappoint for jazz brunch. The host sat us early and we were right in front of the musicians for a few songs. The food was outstanding. I learned the nutritional difference between Drum and Pompano. Hint: go with the Pompano for flavor but the Drum has all the manganese you need. Both are delicious!

Really disappointing. Food was ok, they really need to enforce a dress code because sitting next to a table with a guy in cutoff sweatpants and flip flops while I pay $40 for a subpar entrée and warm icebox pie is annoying

BBQ shrimp was as awesome as the person who advised us to come said it would be. Thank goodness they provided a paper bib to catch the splatters! My husband got the wedge salad and oysters appetizer and they were perfect for lunch. The wedge salad was actually human sized (you know sometimes those can be 1/2 a head of lettuce!) Service was attentive. We were there right before noon on Saturday and were seated in the corner - perfect time and place for my slightly hard of hearing husband!

We've been to Mr. b's many times, and we're shocked to have such a bad experience. After waiting an hour, and little interaction from wait staff, we signaled a waiter and inquired about our food. When it arrived after another 20 minutes, three of our four meals were cold. The buttered noodles ordered for a child had a metallic taste, and the crab cake was undercooked. When we expressed our concerns, they immediately offered four desserts at no cost. While we appreciated the gesture, we will not be returning.

Terrible service. Food sat on a tray near our table for 5 mins. before they put it on the table. Everything was cold. Had to ask 2-3x for beverage refills. Never stopped at table to ask how food was or if we needed anything. Would never return and do not recommend to anyone else. Trading on old reputation for good food & service. Save your money for a place with better service and hot food.

Our table for 4 barely had enough room for 4 people and 4 plates, not enough for 4 additional bread or salad plates. Food was good, not great. Having gone there for at least 30 years, it seems to have degenerated into an efficient place for gathering tourist dollars, no longer at the top of the locals' list.

Solid choice for quality and varied food. Particularly loved the Tuna Rice Bowl .. among all the creole selections - as I dine here often it is nice to see something so different among the selections - and it was delicious!

As always, our food was delicious! I tried the pork chop for the first time and it was outstanding, my wife her favorite BBQ shrimp. We always make a visit to Mr Bs on every nola trip, but this time the service was subpar. It started with the host stand, being busy we checked in on our reservation early with the intent of having a pre- dinner drink at the bar. His response was unwelcoming and put off/bothered by us getting there early. I again said yes we are early and just wanted to check in, we are going to the bar first whether our table is ready now or not…his response was good because I can’t seat you now - like seriously, yes, got it. He didn’t offer to come get us, just said come back at your reservation time. The bar was just as busy, no place to sit or stand. I didn’t want to order over people sitting so I stood at the edge of the area used to supply drinks for the restaurant waiters. I was told I could not stand there, I asked well where would you like me to order from…he agreed and finally took my order. We were seated between two large tables, both clearly on expense account money and we were largely ignored - almost an afterthought of a table. Brett was definitely not interested in our table, which cost him additional wine, dessert and after dinner drink - we just wanted the check. When he brought the check we mentioned how we felt and basically got an eye roll of a response with a side sorry. Just very un Brennan restaurant like, and certainly not up to Mr Bs standards.
