Mr. B's - A Bartolotta Steakhouse - Brookfield Ratings and Reviews
Patrice & Jeff were attentive to our every need, most conversational, and very informed on offerings. We'll ask for them at our next visit in February!
If I was the least bit disappointed, it was with the reduced offerings on the "wine by the glass" list, and the potatoes served with my otherwise exquisitely prepared salmon dish. They tasted canned, tho I'm sure they weren't.
And Folks have to try the Seafood Bisque. To die for!!
One of our favorite restaurants ever!!
This was our third visit for a special occasion. The food was wonderful as always but we did have some service issues. Things were just coming out very slowly from the kitchen and even the bar. We’ve never experienced that before so not sure what was going on in the back of the house or among the service staff. We do love the place and will certainly come back.
This was our second time at Mr. B's Steakhouse and we were quite disappointed with our experience. Our previous visit had a similar result, but we figured after a year we would give it another shot.
The bar was great while we waited for our table. Drinks were very good, although a bit expensive ($7.50 for a single shot Captian Morgan and Coke). A good selection of beers, including stouts and porters, is a big plus.
Our food was were our experience went down the drain. My wife's salad was extremely salty. We both ordered steaks, a ribeye and a filet, and also got scallops on the side with each. The scallops were very good. The steaks on the other hand were not good. Cooked correctly, but WAY over seasoned with salt. It literally tasted like each bite had a tablespoon of salt accompanying it. After about 1/3 of the steak, we both could not eat anymore as our mouths were dry and it was quite disgusting (although, our dog didn't mind the salt when we got home).
The wait staff listened to our complaints and were doing their best to fix our experience. They gave us a free dessert and took one of the steaks off of the bill. Unfortunately, it was not a matter of money that will lead to us not returning. It was simply the terrible steaks, which you would not expect at a place that has "steakhouse" in the name.
Mr. B’s has been great from day one! I’ve eaten steak at Ramsey steak in Vegas, I’ve eaten steak at Trader Vic’s in Beverly Hills, I’ve been to the Ruth’s Chris’s, and Morton’s throughout the country and none of them ever hold a candle to the good old Mr. B’s filet!
We were seated in the small room next to the coat check, with 5 other tables, all full. The room was overful and the couple next to us was having a very vocal disagreement. Ruined their dinner and annoyed our expensive night out.
Love this restaurant and go often in the bar area. First time in dining room and table was directly under a flood light and right by kitchen. Asked to change tables and was told they were booked and unable to acccomodate, I also had made a reservation and many open four tops nearby. Very bummed as it was a special occasion.
Fantastic way to celebrate my birthday with my daughter-in-law. We were greeted at the door by a friendly hostess. The holiday decorations warmed the charming interior. We enjoyed sharing a bottle of wine - a nice Mascato. I ordered the spinach salad with bacon. The dressing was warm, sweet, and not too tangy. My filet was beyond tender and a perfect medium rare! I chose sweet potatoes with glazed pecans as a side - delicious. Excellent, professional, and courteous service provided by Jassen and Arnold.
I met Mr. Bartollata 25 years ago, before he opened his first restaurant.
Husband and I went for a Holiday lunch. Just us. It was awesome. Food and service was outstanding. And so was our server CJ. She knew just what to do and when to do it. Her friendly personality and advice was also very welcome.
While the food was good our service was rather poor. We waited for a while in between server visits and our bread was never served until after we were finished with our meal so we took it home. It appeared as if the server had too many tables to tend to. We expected better service.
The ambiance delightful, the coat check lady warmly receptive and friendly. This enviro quite fast paced that maybe it's due to the holiday season that the pace was quite frantic, harried, and maybe a bad time to have expected an enjoyable dinner moment with our visiting guest from Japan. Furthermore, my partner and I did note that others seated (2-4 to a table) around us were provided top notch attention. Our bread plates weren't refreshed, bread offered only once, cocktails replenished with incorrect white wine instead of a red, and after this neither of us was asked if we were interested in another cocktail. Then, there was Meghan, Jordan's asst, upon refreshing my water glass, she literally poured from high above the glass that caused splashing and I oft was drenched, a bit of an exaggeration, but you hopefully can respect my point. The cause of its extreme water moisture impact wasn't necessary unless she was trying to send me a strong unwelcoming message. We don't mind paying what your establishment charges for the delicious meals that are carefully prepared by the chefs, but we indeed were offended by the careless and discourteous attiudes that were disdainfully served at our expense, and we certainly felt unwelcomed by the servers. The overall experience would've been exemplary and pleasurable had we'd been treated with top notch attention to details as others were.
One of my favorite places to eat but unfortunately a bit disappointing on this occasion. The service was a bit clumsy and first spilled a pitched of water on the table. The second event was a boat of gravy that was poured on the back of one of my guests shirt, across my plate and then rested on the table. The staff never even realized that he did this until I pointed out the mess. The staff was great to apologize and compensate the meal, dry cleaning, etc. so great job on trying to take care of the situation. I chose the rib eye special at $62 a steak and was disappointed in the toughness and flavor of the piece of meet. Again, one of my favorite places to eat and I will definitely go back but a bit disappointing on this occasion given I was hosting a work holiday dinner party.
All 4 of us ordered the ribeye steak special and all 4 of us were disappointed by the large amount of gristle and fat in the steak. The steaks we prepared as we ordered and tasted very good, but we all agree the large amount of gristle and fat ruined the entre. We all enjoyed the soups/salads/vegetables and the desserts (flan/apple cobbler) and service was excellent.
I typically do not write reviews on dining out because there is a certain level of expectations when we dine out but this one bothered me. I ordered an angus ribeye pointing it out on the menu and the waiter asked bone "in or out" so I replied in. After our dinner, we saw the bill for the steak was $67 so we asked the waiter and he replied that bone "in" was $67 so I looked at the menu again and did not see it anywhere. I would have appreciated if the waiter would have disclosed the price to us before walking away with our order. I paid for the meal and walked out unsatisfied with our experience and would not come back even though we've heard high marks at this establishment.
