Great food! Great service!
This past Wednesday evening we had the opportunity to dine with my son & his new fiancé. We all agreed the food was excellent . The restaurant was extremely busy for a Wednesday night and exceptionally loud in the dining room making it difficult to talk. We actually thought of moving back to the bar area because it was much quieter. The service was excellent as the servers had to jostle between the tables due to a packed house. I have to compliment the staff under the situation for still preparing & serving the food in a timely manner. The steaks were served at the perfect temperature and my wife had the scallops which in her words were exceptional. We will be back in the near future.
Awesome. Mike did a great job. Excellent service. Thank you!
My husband and I celebrated our 36 wedding anniversary at Mr. B's. My two complaints are that even though I made a reservation over a week before for a Tuesday night and requested a quieter place in the restaurant they attempted to seat us by the kitchen. I asked to be moved which they granted. I was a little appalled that they thought that would be OK for us. Secondly, I would add a few other non-meat and not seafood choices to your menu. It is a great menu for steak, but what if that is what your SO wants but you want something lighter? There were very few other choices for me. Because the menu is limited, I will probably choose a different place. Out waitress (CJ) was wonderful!
The dinner was wonderful and FULL of flavor!
I am utterly disappointed with the service and food. Was there for birthday celebration. Have two servers, but both kept forgetting us. My husband had only one drink the entire night. At the end, the waitress looked at him and said "oops, sorry I forgot to brink you your soda." For the price of the food, I would have been better off staying at home and cooking myself. The filet was so salty. I only ate half. I ordered a grasshopper after dinner dessert drink. There was so much ice in the drink. Horrible evening. Will never go back. $300 plus tip wasted. I work too hard to blow money on a substandard meal.
They are known for their steak, however I got the bone in ribeye special ($~70), asked for it medium and it was quite well done. Great flavor but hard to cut in to and chew. Husband got the lamb chops. Requested medium rare, but they were also over done. The waiter graciously brought a new plate of chops. However, this time they were rare. He loves raw-ish meat but even he couldn't stomach it. They sent a third set of chops that were much better. It shouldn't be this difficult. Drinks and sides were great.
The service was excellent! Very fast orderly staff who obviously care about their jobs. The atmosphere was much more laid back than expected! Ive been to the mequon location and much prefer the Brookfield location. Food was all cooked spot on to tempurature and flavor. However, i would not recommend the dry aged strip special because it was not as tender as they had us believe, and veey expensive for a steak you end up not liking. Steak was not very tender and was dry. However, the ribeye was amazing, lamb was perfect, and the steak sandwich was also great. Try the seafood bisque, you wont be dissappointed! Also, the calamari was spot on perfectly cooked!
After I read some reviews before my first visit I really didn't know what to expect . After going there with my wife we loved it and the negative things I didn't see. A week later I took my daughter there for her Birthday and I experienced the negative . We were seated right outside of the kitchen , we waited long for every part of the meal. It was not busy cause we got there when it opened . We got the wrong part of our meal , both of us. We noticed that our waitress was assigned to a large party in an adjacent room. Which could explain why we were left waiting. I typically am not a complainer and I will go back because of the great food but I hope you read this and not take it as just another complaint . I experienced exactly what someone else had written .
Food was amazing as always !! Service was great too!!
My filet was fabulous! Done just as requested. Enjoyed the mushrooms & onions on the side.
We were to celebrate of our dear couple who just engaged and knew that place would be perfect for us to celebrate cuz that place also people who have helped us to me it the best out of it! Very pleased with their service especially with our waiter who did great to make our dinner goes smooth !
The porterhouse for 2 was amazing. Cooked to perfection and so delicious. Sides were also very good. Only issue was my $19 martini. The price was the most surprising.
Amazing steaks!! The tables were a bit too close and it was a bit pricey but the food was worth it. Our waitress should have told us that the bottle of wine was $99 when she suggested it because it was a good wine but we probably would not have gotten it had we known the price.
For the reputation, the interior seemed dated. The menu was decent. The wait staff was a duo, but there was so much waiting. Get a menu, wait, order drinks, wait, get drinks, wait, bread offer, wait, order entree, wait, wait, wait... they didn't seem overly busy as I saw them both walking back and forth quite a bit. We've had more attentive wait staff at Chili's. The soup & salad were ok. The sides; I've had better at home. The main course, while both were very good, and far above and beyond any family restaurant, it wasn't worth the name, the waiting, or the price. This was our first time at this particular Bartolotta location and I was, overall, expecting much more and was not particularily impressed by any aspect of it.
For a Bartolotta Restaurant, an off-night all the way around.
Food and service was sub-par for any Bartolotta’s.
Recommend Lake Park Bistro, Bartolotta’s, even Pizzeria Piccolo — they have been consistently excellent.
We had the Lamb chops and Filet. All was very good. A little disappointed in the amount that came on the lamb chops - I was still hungry when done. It took a while for bread and butter to come out. Its nice to get when you just sit down but it took about 10-15 minutes and we were starving. The atmosphere is really nice and the food was great. Tables are too close together though and we had to almost whisper. Don't go thinking you can have any deep conversations unless you want everyone to know your business. We usually come 3-4 times a year - heavy bill but worth it.
My food was very salty had to send my food back cause it was very unbearable
We have been to Mr. B’s several times and the food is always exceptional. Brad was our waiter tonight as well as previous times. He is very attentive. I must say that I was surprised at the price of a glass of house Merlot ordered by my husband...$18? Seriously? I feel that is taking advantage of your customers. I am not sure if we will be back again.
Mr. B's is a great steakhouse. I count on it to have superb steaks and for the service to be outstanding. It always delivers time and time again. If you're looking for a culinary adventure, this isn't the right place. This is the place you go for a prime steak cooked to perfection and served with delicious side dishes by a very capable and professional wait staff.
Top shelf dining experience. The steaks are delicious.
Great dinner for family
This was a fabulous dinning experience, the cocktails where handcrafted and the bartender was on the ball.
The wait staff was excellent and so was the food..
No waiting for our table, our food was delivered promptly and was incredible.
While we enjoyed a nice meal as usual, we were disappointed that they have removed the rosemary roasted potatoes off the menu and the french onion soup was sweet and not like the usual french onion soup I enjoy.
Celebrated our Son's 18th Birthday, I had the Halibut which was very good, my son had the Wagyu Steak, he said the best he ever had, my husband had the lamb which is his go to every time we eat there which was very good. Service could have been a bit better, had keep asking for refills on water and soda.
The steaks are great. Wonderful service. My wife and I love eating at Mr B's.
WOW, I am very impressed with Mr. B's. Took the wife here for Valentine's Day and it was a hit. The staff were great and the food was delicious. The steaks are seasoned and cooked to perfection. Best steakhouse I've been to so far. Ill defiantly will be back!
We celebrated my husband’s birthday at Mr. B’s recently and it did not disappoint! The food was delicious! We received excellent service from the staff. Our server was able to recommend a wine from the drink menu for us that was perfect and he went over the meat cart in detail. They were also accommodating to my food allergy. The only thing I didn’t like about our experience was the noise level. The music was rather loud which made it difficult to have a conversation at times.
Was a perfect evening. A very busy night our waiter said they would serve 350 people by the end the night. We were seated (with reservation) as scheduled and the rest of the evening was paced nicely. Enjoy calmari, spinach salads, filet and ribeye. Potato choice was roasted and sweet potato. All in all a great night.
A little slow service on drinks. Waitress brought us the wrong check twice.
We’ve been there in the past on a few occasions, this one didn’t live up to the reputation I had been broadcasting to all of my friends, family and coworkers. As for the service, when he got around to us our waiter was good, but left us waiting quite a bit between visits to the table to check on us. They were clearly not prepared for the crowd present on the night we were there, severely under staffed. The menu had changed a bit, there wasn’t as much actual shellfish/sea food as I remember in the “seafood bisque “. It was still delicious. The flavoring of my steak wasn’t like I remember it, kinda on the bland side. Last time I was there I didn’t put anything (salt, pepper or the steak sauces they offer) on it and it was to die for. In the past you wouldn’t even need teeth to eat it and could cut it with a dull spoon. Not so much this time, was cooked properly aka medium rare, but definitely needed a sharp knife. That’s after I paid for the more expensive “prime “ cut too. Otherwise my wife and daughter both really liked their seafood entrees (lobster tails and salmon). I’m not sure I will be going back. Not at their prices, certainly won’t be shouting their praises from the rooftops like after prior visits.
This is by far the BEST Steak house in the area. Sides are awesome and you could cut the steak with a butter knife. I would highly recommend a reservation. The service is very pleasant and accommodating.
The wait at the bar was 15-20 minutes. I waited 10-12 minutes before I was first acknowledged/greeted by one of the bartenders. I was there to celebrate my moms retirement after 37 years of service in her occupation. They told me the pastry chef wouldn’t write anything on our dessert plate (such as Congratulations) when I called ahead, nor did they even advise our wait staff about the special occasion so I was completely unimpressed with the way that was handled. Also we ordered a bottle of wine and the wait staff never came around to refill our glasses (like they do at Lake Park Bistro or any other nice dinner restaurant such as Eddie Martini’s). Overall, I was beyond disappointed in the service considering the prices on the menu and how “top notch” any Bartolottas restaurant is supposed to be.
We've dined at Mr. B's several times and never had a bad meal. Table serving is done in pairs so service is attentive. My guest and I both had the 12. oz. filet medium rare and both thought the cooking had gone past our desired point rendering the meat a bit dry.
didnt feel real welcome on entry, our server was awesome though. Steak was delicious, however the baked potato tasty, but cold.
The service was fabulous as usual! The food is usually outstanding but the stakes were a little overdone. I don't mind paying the higher price for a meal that is as delicious as it usually is but we were not as happy with the food as we usually are. It's still a great restaurant and we will return!
Our dinner at Mr. B's was excellent. We could not have asked for a better dining experience. The atmosphere, the service and the exceptional menu was as good as it gets. I would recommend this restaurant to any one as it has been our favorite for years.
The restaurant was very busy for a Monday night but not too noisy. My husband and I both had salads, I had the burrata and tomato which was out of this world. A nice generous portion and such delicate flavors!!
We also had the sole which was absolutely wonderful. I regret that I don't remember the waiters name but he was excellent. He achieved the difficult balance between hovering and attentive. Really delicious meal and wonderful waitstaff
