MP Taverna - Roslyn Ratings and Reviews
Saturday nights can get very crowded so make sure to reserve a table. The hostesses are very friendly and accommodating unlike other busy places in Roslyn. The wait for a table was a bit longer than our past visits. The manager offered dips and pita bread for us to have with our drinks at the bar. It was a very nice gesture and it shows how the restaurant shows appreciation to their guests. By far our favorite restaurant.
We were here for a late dinner on a very busy Saturday night for the restaurant. Everyone from the hostess to the manager were very professional and friendly at the same time. The hostess was very accommodating and made sure we had our spot at the bar while we waited for our table. When our table was ready the manager helped us bring the drinks to the table and made some great recommendations about what to order. The food was phenomenal and service was right on point. Our server was very attentive and handled everything with a proper and professional attitude. We loved the food, the cocktails, the dessert, the atmosphere.. MP is a hidden gem..definitely going back.
MP is my go-to spot for special occasions. I was there for my mom’s 60th birthday and we had an amazing experience. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the sweetest hostesses. We were seated right away. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgable. He recommended the bronzoni which I thoroughly enjoyed. My mom had the hangar steak and it was perfectly cooked. For dessert we had delicious chocolate brownie cake. Overall, this is an exceptional place, with beautiful ambience, incredible service and unbelievable food.
This place is excellent. We sat at the bar before dinner. The bartender was very professional and courteous. Out waiter at the table was also amazing. Our glasses never went empty and the food was spectacular. We ordered octopus, and house salad for appetizers and we both had branzini for entree. I would definitely recommend this place.
Met my parents for an early dinner. The bar manager (not bartender) wouldn’t serve my dad a happy hr deal glass of wine because he would soon be sitting at a table. Finally offered him only one type of wine. We had to ask 3 times for a high chair and stood at the table waiting for it. It was 5pm and the place was empty. No reason we needed to ask that many times. Food is delicious and some of the staff are fantastic.
Very disappointed with the whole experience with the exception of our server ( Omar) and only our server.
It seemed as if the B team was running the place including the cooks. No bartender so everyone was playing bartender. The food was nothing special. Beer selection was limited and I don’t think fitting for M P’s menu. Dessert menu was interesting but traditional Greek deserts were boxy tasting, not fresh.
For a family group of 7 for Christmas Eve supper I don’t see us as returning anytime soon. Once again Omar was the best part of our dining experience and deserves kudos for making our evening tolerable. Thank you Omar
I've been to this restaurant many times but my recent visit was not good. I ordered salmon cooked through. It came with the top charred but underneath close to raw. I sent it back to have undercooked part cooked. It came back the same way. The spinach I ordered as a side was in a pool of oil. My dinner was hardly eaten. It would have been nice if the coffee we ordered was on the house. I'll think twice about going again.
Been here a few times. Asked waiter to bring appetizers then we would order entrees. He said we had to order at the same time. We said fine just give us time to finish the appetizers Food came way too fast. We sent it all back as we were still eating appetizers. They came back with hot plates but not hot food Very disappointed. Won’t return
Waiter was nice.
Tomatoes in salad weren’t fresh. Asked for extra feta cheese, took way too long to get them.
Certain aspects of the service was slow.
We like MP and will come back but honestly it was disappointing this time around. Our check was approx 170.
MP Taverna is consistently excellent. Service is warm and professional. The Mediterranean cuisine is healthy, fresh and inventive. The simply grilled options make it easy to eat healthy even if others indulge. Grilled octopus is great, meatballs are superb and the beet salad is wonderful.
I Was extremely disappointed with the Restaurant Week dinner. They served a large bowl but with three spoonfuls of soup in it, and pasta with no crabmeat and three mini shrimp. My cocktail was good, but then again, it was from the "regular" menu and cost $15.00. Dinner cost $28.99. Definitely not worth the money.
We have been to MP Taverna many times and have recently noticed a decline in the food, service and whole dining experience. Also, they seem to raise their prices constantly. At our last dining experience, the "crispy" brussel sprouts were burned beyond recognition. Our waiter, who was very nice, was clearly overwhelmed, and the diners near us were complaining as well. Not sure we will go back in the near future.
The food was delicious and the service was attentive. My husband had the lamb shank special and was falling off the bone with great taste. I had grilled shrimp, which were so moist and flavorful, and a tasty bulgur salad with bits of pistachios, cucumbers, onions, and dried apricots.
I looked forward to eating there with anticipation. The octopus appetizer was absolutely delicious. Unfortunately that’s where the excellence stopped. For an entree, I had the Branzino stuffed with rice, feta cheese and spinach. The entire plate looked like a gelatinous glob. While the fish was fresh, it, along with the rice and feta, was soaked in butter and not edible. My poor score for the service was as a result of the waiter not even asking why most of my plate was uneaten. I may give this restaurant another chance, but doubtful.
We have been to MP Tavern many time but this time the food was not that great. The service was excellent. We had the two meatballs which were average. The octopus was very good as was the lamb sausage. I had the lamb chops which were overcooked, the spinach was boring. My husband had the chicken which he said was average. I was disappointed.
