Great restaurant, great staff.
Best food in Roslyn. Excellent treatment from management and staff.
The best greek food I ever had on Long Island. The service was excellent. Our waitress was very attentive and professional.
Great dinner. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly and professional.
Do not go to restaurant. Everyone had problems. Reservation for 4 at 8 pm. Seated at 8:20. Don’t see waiter for another 20 minuets. Takes drink order. Doesn’t return for 15 minutes. Food order finally taken. At 9 pm. No waiter for another 45 minutes. Finally food is served at 9:45 pm. Food is average. Order dessert at 10:15 pm. Takes another half to receive 1 dessert. Leave restaurant. No valets to be found. Takes 1/2 for valet to get car. Horrible
very overpriced....bar drinks very expensive beyond usual prices for same beverages...souvlaki was expensive, small and contained few ingredients and very little chicken or beef. Lamb dish was ok but very expensive....same for salad.
Price point not there
Best restaurant in town. The staff is super nice and professional. The manager was very friendly and accommodating.
This is my favorite restaurant of all times. We love the food and the service here. The staff is friendly and professional.
excellent dinner but we would have liked some lower cost wine by the glass options
Our waiter was not very attentive Took 45 minutes to get a drink Then added an xtra glass of wine to the bill.
Conveniently located in the town of Roslyn. The food here is solid but not spectacular.
They have a couple of salads that my vegan wife likes. I order the fish.
Wonderful meal! Can’t wait to get back there again....
Fresh & Delicious
Great food great service.
Our fourth visit here. Always enjoy MP Taverna; way above local bar or pub, given it's inventive Greek Tavern menu. Great burgers, lamb burgers as well as wonderful fish. Nice selection of appetizers. In warm weather , the roof top deck is great.
We enjoyed a quiet birthday dinner at MP Taverna on Super Bowl Sunday. The food and the service were excellent.
Very nice restaurant, but a little too crowded on Saturdays. Our dinner was plentiful and delicious. The service was professional. Our waiter was friendly, very knowledgable, and professional. We are definitely coming back.
Went for dinner with another couple. Waited at the bar about 10 minutes for our 7:30 reservation. Noisy bar area. Glad we were seated a bit away from that area so we could talk at the table. Outstanding food! Ordered dip sampler to share as appetizer - good but ordinary. For main course, two of us ordered the stuffed sole with feta and spinach and it was delicious. Actually stopped the conversation to comment how good it was! Lemon chicken was good but not quite as unusual as the stuffed sole. The smashed potatoes it came with were heavenly. Fourth person ordered the Greek paella - another top dish. One small glitch when ordering coffee - they were out of coffee filters??? Ended up ordering cappuccinos rather than wait for them to get new filters; to their credit, they didn't charge for them. All in all, a great place to go with friends and enjoy memorable food.
Got a reservation on a Saturday night for two. Cool, hip atmosphere, but was a little loud. Not what I expected from a high-end Greek restaurant. I was thinking like some of the good Greek places in the city such as Nerai or Estiatorio Milos, there would be a fresh seafood bar to choose your fresh selections from. There was a small special menu in addition to the everyday menu. All wines started at $50 a bottle on up, and most of the entrees were over $25. Even the side dishes were anywhere from $11 to $17 for a side dish. I got a pasta with tomato sauce, feta and chicken and it was $25 (the portion was large, a plus) and my boyfriend got a beef souvlaki, which was $20, but includes French fries. There was no choice of lamb for the soulvaki, which we thought was unusual since its a Greek restaurant. The service was good and hostess nice, but souvlaki came without tzatziki sauce, which should always come and then it took ten minutes to get some and by then the meat was cold. The menu choices were very interesting with a lot of fish on the menu, however we just thought the food was okay. At those prices, a meal should be better than okay. We eat out about three or four nights a week, and probably won't come back. They're just too many other choices with above-average food that are less expensive.
Best greek restaurant. Best fish dishes. Service is always perfect.
The octopus here is to die for. One of the best I tried on Long Island. Best food, best service.
Reliably good service and food quality. Best food in Roslyn.
Amazing food and wonderful service. Excellent treatment from the manager.
Great food, knowledgeable and courteous staff. A really nice dinner, but a little pricey.
Authentic Greek selections - waitress spoke Greek also - very friendly - food delicious
Great branzino, wonderful octopus
We were incredibly disappointed with MP Taverna. The service team seems incredibly inexperienced. Server couldn’t give information about items on the menu and the ingredients that were in the dishes. They almost dropped dishes as they were delivering our food and didnt know about the food, etc. For example, the runner called Lamb Risotto “Rice”. Seriously? Restaurant Week dishes were obviously smaller portions and dull in flavor. We did not expect to be so disappointed considering the owner of the restaurant.
Visited during restaurant week. Portions were rediculous. Food was ok. Nothing special. Overcharged on lousy wine. Wil not return.
A few friends and i went today for NYC Restaurant Week. The waiters were nice. Very attentive. One of us ordered the gnocchi. It wasn't stellar. The gnocchi was made w flour rather than potato which isn't unheard of. But the texture was very doughy leaving us to believe it wasn't cooked thoroughly. We were very nice. Not at all stuck-up critical. The waiter brought the dish back to the chef and he threw the loudest fit! I must add.. my friends and i sat at the furthest table away from the kitchen. It was pretty embarrassing for the waiters.
It's a shame that the chef's ego is getting in the way of being better as a cook. Ultimately, compromising the welfare of the employees and community. And btw, the waiter did take the gnocchi off the bill. We felt so bad for the waiters that we left a $30 tip to a $107 tab.
Excellent Greek restaurant. Enjoyed the branzino and the baklava Napoleon.
The restaurant gets very crowded on Saturdays but they serve really great food. Good waiter, good service. No complaints.
Overpriced and rude service.
Worst night out in 8 years that I have lived in the area. No wonder it was only last minute reservation open. Hostess was a mess, very rude and seemed troubled that we arrived 15 minutes before our reservation. The bartender was slow, and the drinks were ridiculously overpriced, even for Roslyn. Now for the part that was really awful...the food and the service. My appetizer was cleared before I had finished it. Our main course arrived only 10 minutes after the appetizer. My husband and I felt rushed. Service was minimal at best. Had to beg waiter to get another drink. I would rather have eaten a Greek salad at Panera than wasting my time and money at this place.
noisy near bar
waiter was rushed and hard to get a hold of
food was OK but a bit pricey
We had a nice and quiet dinner. Food and service were excellent.
Very good restaurant.
We had brunch prior to going to the movies. Service and food both excellent.
Very good all around
Service was slow, restaurant was freezing cold, food was undercooked and steak was very chewy. Disappointing outing. It has been better in the past.
