Chef Michael Psilakis introduces his award-winning Greek-inspired cuisine to Westchester with the opening of MP Taverna, a modern interpretation of a traditional Greek tavern.

MP Taverna’s accessible menu brings Psilakis’ Greek fare into the American culinary lexicon and is another step towards the chef’s goal of putting Greek cuisine on the culinary main stage. “The memories I have of cooking with my family are the inspiration for my restaurants, and I hope my guests create their own memories through their dining experiences at MP Taverna,” says Chef Michael Psilakis. “I want MP Taverna to be a destination for more than just a celebratory meal; a place that conjures the familiarity of your dining room table at home.”

We had a noon reservation, so the restaurant was pretty empty---not like night time!!! It worked out perfect for me and my sister because I hadn't seen her for a while so we had a lot of catching up to do!! Our waiter was congenial and very knowledgeable and helpful. We both had the Pancake made with ricotta in the batter and caremelized apples which was divine and the ricotta made the pancake light as paper. We did not order wine, but the coffee and tea were great and the waiter kept them flowing. All in all, I'd say it was a wonderful brunch for us. I have been there for dinner several times and really love the food here.

I chose happy hour as a recommendation because the bar service was the only part of the dining experience that was acceptable . This was my second visit and we only returned to this restaurant to use the gift card that was given to us to make up for the last negative dining experience we had. The first time , we were rushed out after our meal. We barely signed the check and they were trying to turn over the table for the next group. This time we waited over an hour past our reservation time to be seated. No compensation made whatsoever ...not even an offer to buy us a drink.

Food well cooked. Very fresh fish, meat, poultry. Generous portions. Very good Greek yogurt dessert. Servers personable. More help needed on a Saturday night. We had to wait a WHILE before our food order and dessert order were taken. Also, of note to the owner and persons in charge: bathroom ran out of hand towels. Two of our party informed someone who works at the restaurant but they were not replaced. Because of the high volume of guests, the rest rooms were constantly in use. Compulsory that enough hand towels be available to finish up your “toilette” before leaving the WC. Try to be diligent in this vein on those ultra busy evenings. Otherwise, an energetic and popular venue for very good food.

Found this place after looking for a Greek/Mediterranean restaurant. Our server was amazing and the food was delicious. The ambiance was perfect for a date. Will definitely recommend and come again!

There was definitely confusion upon entering as the young hostess is definitely overwhelmed. However, once we were seated our waiter Hector made the unpleasantness at the front door go away. Everything was delicious and we had a fun evening.

The food and atmosphere where excellent but there was 6 of us and when all the meals were served , one did not make it out for a while so we all ended up having to eat before our meals got cold. That being said even though the staff was concerned that the meal was not out no one apologized or gave us anything free like desert. I thought that was not good service at all.
However that was the only downfall. Better customer service. I would go back to see if they get it right.

We love MP Taverna. Wow was the service inept last night. The food took so long that the busboy cleared the tablet before dinner showed up. His English was so poor he didn’t understand when we told him we still needed our flatware, and would like to keep our bread because we might need it to fend off starvation.

One of our favorite restaurants. The food is fabulous, the value is tremendous. My daughter had the lamb chop special which was $36 and delicious. I have had so many items on the menu...everything is good. The burger is terrific. The souvlaki. The lemon chicken is a dish my brother-in-law travels 30 minutes to eat. Even the simply grilled chicken is amazing. Let's talk about the smashed fries. They are addicting and incredible...crunchy, not greasy. The salads are great. And the tomato soup It's amazing. Also, they have a jazz brunch on Sundays which are really great too.

This was my first visit to MP Taverna and it will not be my last! The food was great and very affordable. They did run out of pita bread which was a bummer, but it wasn’t the end of the world. This is a great restaurant to come to with a bunch of friends for a nice Sunday dinner.

Dining out on a Saturday night at a popular restaurant is always a challenge - but waiting a half hour with a reservation? There appeared to be no front end management managing the throng of people entering and standing around. You cannot have a young hostess working alone on a Saturday night - poor girl kept saying sorry we are under-staffed! Sat at least 15 minutes with menus before anyone came over to our table. Food was delicious though and no one rushed you out the door once you were seated! - almost closed the place. As a group we all said we would return...but not on a Friday or Saturday night!

I would never recommend this restaurant. After we were finished eating, the waiter asked us to leave because there were a lot of people on line waiting for tables!!! I have never experienced a restaurant asking this. It's unprofessional and rude. When I spend $300 for 4 people, I don't care of we have been there for almost 3 hours--it was extremely unprofessional

Extremely friendly waitstaff and management. Gave it a try because of Hudson Valley Restaurant Week. My wife ordered from the restaurant week menu but I was tempted by the special $15 lunch menu....a great deal. Delicious food and a good value. We will definitely be going back in the near future.

Inventive food and fun atmosphere. Unfortunately, we got a table in bad location against a wall and next to a waiter station. My chair got bumped all night long. Plus, we had to wait a while just to get that table. Likely won't repeat.

It was a pleasant evening for two couples. Good ambiance, friendly waiters. Terrific starters, especially the the three dip combination with pita. Bronzino had an interesting Greek presentation with black & green olives and mini roasted potatoes potatoes. The tuna portion was small, but delicious. All in all we would recommend MP Taverna for a casual evening.

Our food was excellent, as usual. My friend had the Greek Paella and I had the Lamb Risotto. My friend's meal was piled high with tender and delicious seafood and my risotto had nice chunks of lamb that was so flavorful. I started with a Greek Margarita (with pomegranate juice) and a glass of Sancerre with my risotto. My friend had an (on purpose) oaky/creamy chardonnay with the paella.

The restaurant is beautiful, rustic and charming. We had great service and no one rushed us out when we were finished - it was a Wednesday night and although people kept coming in and the bar area was full, the main dining was not, which is not a criticism or a concern as it was a Wednesday night in February.

We arrived on time for our reservation and although the restaurant was very crowded and almost full we were seated without delay. Service was friendly but a bit confusing because we didn’t seem to have a regular wait staff and none were very well trained. The food was very good and prepared well. We brought our own bottle of wine but their corkage was $30 which was higher than most restaurants in the County.

My husband and I had one of the best meals we’ve ever had at MP Taverna. We went for my birthday dinner on a Saturday night and it was crowded but there were a few tables open. We were pleasantly surprised to see Michael Psilakis himself working the room...bringing plates, pouring water, and speaking to the customers. We tried the 3 dip sampler and they were awesome. I had one of the best pastas I’ve ever eaten the Long Fusili. My husband absolutely loved his lamb shank. Our waiter Manny was so sweet and friendly which made the meal even better. We cannot wait to return!!

This welcoming restaurant never fails to live up to the highest standards of service, comfort, delicious cuisine and warmth. We arrived 45 minutes early because a previous appointment ended early and the bartender graciously turned on the dining room lights so we could enjoy a drink and wait for our guest in comfort. I always order the sausage and steak and it was fantastic along with the yummy smashed potatoes. We love this place!
