This was a lovely evening from start to finish. Easy to make reservations, great menu selection and excellent specials. The cocktails are amazing. Strong so sip slowly. I had the Citrus Crush. Service friendly and attentive. It was a safe dining experience too with COVID protocols being followed. Thank you to all the staff!

A favorite place. Food always outstanding. Service is tops. Wish we could get there more often but COVID is hurting so many plans. They did brisk takeout service while we were there.

First time eating out in a restaurant since October. Tables were spaced out and all staff members wore masks. Food came out quick, piping hot, and absolutely divine. We split the hummus (always a favorite of ours), I had the jumbo rigatoni, and my boyfriend had the burger. Although his burger was great it just couldn’t compare to the rigatoni! They even gave us 2 mini cannolis for a complimentary dessert. And although they were tiny, they were delicious! (And I usually don’t like cannolis). We will definitely be back again soon!

The best, most fresh Greek food!

We love this restaurant so we eat there at least once per week. Great service, nice ambiance, delicious fresh fish!

This was my third time dining at MP Tavern once pre pandemic and twice post. I’m certain restaurant was busier than usual due to Valentines Day however, restaurant should have taken less reservations.

In addition heat was too high felt uncomfortably warm
ventilatio n should have been better due to COVID.

One of the best lunches I have had in 20 years! We were blown away by the food.
Service was great, it just hit the spot and was exactly what we needed. They truly
are talented chefs and quality of ingredients were amazing. We will be back!

San Valentine with my family an incredible experience being served by Chef Psilakis. Loved the Octupus - amazingly soft and perfect balanced yogurt and chickpeas sauce. Superb paella (Greek naturally) with orzo. Reliable perfect staples as the grilled branzino. Free dessert - handmade cannoli. Outstanding.

The food was fresh and delicious. Interesting dishes especially since the menu was paired down because of Covid. We had an enjoyable Valentines dinner and would definitely return.

This our first time at Taverna and we will definitely be back. Our server was so nice and the food was great.

MP checks all the boxes for us. Great food (super great food). Lovely cocktails. Attentive staff. Beautiful, comfortable dining room. Elegant bar area. Option for alfresco experience. Top location. Convenient parking. Doesn't get better than this.

I went for lunch with a friend on a Thursday recently. Great food - octopus appetizer with chickpeas and yoghurt dressing which was delicious followed by branzino. Portions were generous, the bar area where we sat at a high top was bright and well organized for social distancing. Service was very friendly. I will go back again soon and hope others do to keep this restaurant and others in business.

Excellent variety in the menu with some delicious options for spicy and savory food. Would recommend highly.

MP can not be beat. The food is outstanding and the ambiance is warm and friendly. The service is always on point. I have never had one darn thing here that’s disappointing. Portions are generous and the food quality is obviously high and always fresh. Nice approachable wine list will round out a terrific lunch or dinner for any occasion. I very highly recommend.

Last note: In the beginning of the pandemic I walked over to order something to take out. They had the menu posted in the window and with 2 prices for everything. Working / not working was the only explanation... I learned much to my surprise that the owner generously decided it was only fair to offer a discount to those less fortunate who had lost their jobs ie: not working! Beyond all the other great reasons to patronize MP how could anyone not root hard for a man like that? I have been frequenting the restaurant ever since. It’s always outstanding.

This is one of the premier dining experiences in Westchester. Chef Michael is a wonder. We were here with a party of 4. Everything was a dream--great ambience, and food and drink that made us sorry not to be bigger people! We were still thinking about it the next day. Worth a trip even from the city!

I went to the MP taverna located in Astoria (when they were open) and the Irvington location did not disappoint! Food was still amazing, service was great, and we had the honor of being served by Chef Psilakis. Such a humble person.

Consistently outstanding. I had a whole Bronzino this time and moaned throughout!

Overall, it was good but was so disappointing. I chose this restaurant for my 50th birthday celebration even though I have never been there. I called three times and noted on my request that it was a special birthday occasion. But NO ONE bothered to tell me ahead of time that there was NO desserts! The reason they said was Covid which has nothing to do with desserts. The least they could have done is to tell us when I called and after receiving my reservation here that it was for a birthday. If they cared about their customers, they would have paid attention to this detail. It was so disappointing and none even cared or even felt sorry about it. No effort to even make up for it.

Wow! I cannot say enough good things about the soup, salad and pasta, MP Taverna and the experience Chef Michael created. Michael was stellar. Made us feel comfortable with his engagement, talent and overall commitment to our experience. He did everything to such a high level! Love this place!

We have never had a bad experience here. Love the new interior renovations. I have been so impressed with how they have navigated servicing patrons throughout the pandemic.

Awesome dining experience!

We have gone just a few times. The ambiance is great even with the current Covid situation. Our server Steven is one of the best we have ever had at any venue. The food was exceptional and the value is very fair. I look forward to going back soon.

We were celebrating our anniversary. The food, service and atmosphere were fantastic. Map never disappoints.

The waiter gave us wrong menus when seated. Anything I asked for wasn't being served. Then the waiter realized we had the wrong menus.
Once the food came it was a disappointment . The chicken was not good it tasted like chicken with a lemon squeezed on it. The steak and sausage was just ok.

The prices are high Which we don't mind paying if it's worth it and this place definitely was not!

MP Taverna is my go-to place for wonderful food. Kudos to the owner for keeping this restaurant going during these difficult times.

The food here is always excellent, the portions are ample size and very tasty. We have never had a bad meal and that goes for the service as well. The owner is always around and comes by checking to make sure everything is to your liking. I had the salmon, my husband had the branzino our friends had lamb chops and the dumplings. Everyone was very impressed with their meal. You can’t go wrong at MP Taverna !

My friend and I had a wonderful time there! We went there because the restaurant week. We were surprised when the waiter told us that it was a mistake, even though the restaurant’s name was on the selection. The food was delicious!!! The restaurant was not crowded, so it was perfect for the social distance.

Food was ok and good but nothing spectacularly outstanding for my expectations on MP Taverna. For example, I found the Calamari and Cauliflower dish ok, the calamari was over breaded and a bit overdone. Also only could find 4 pieces of the cauliflower so this dish was 98% calamari. We also order the mixed grilled, chicken and sausages were good and juicy, one of them split on 2 half was overdone, fries were good but salty, and this dish really needs some kind of sauce, compote, or something that goes with the meat. Overall though a nice experience.

Sat in the outside tent, as nice as it can be at this time. They used nicer disposable tableware, and served from take out containers. A bit odd, but I think a very good choice, considering. Every bite of food was out of this world delicious, cocktails as well. I would highly recommend. A very nice high end date meal.
If anything, I’d suggest some music in the tent

MP Taverna remains a steady reliable and treasured part of the Irvington community. Chef Psilakis has continued his commitment to the community staying open and providing amazing food in these difficult and trying times. If the smashed French fries are in my afterlife then that would be proof that I wound up in the “good place”.
