Mozelle's Fresh Southern Bistro Ratings and Reviews
Usually thrilled to be dining at this great restaurant. The entire restaurant was barren in anticipation of the Christmas holiday. The menu was limited to 4-5 entrees. The food was bland despite being oversalted.
The waiter was as good as possible whilst knowing he was serving below par fare.
Ruined a pre-Christmas experience.
First time at this restaurant. Food was good when they finally got it right. My wife ordered the tomato pie which came out black and crispy. I asked the server if it was supposed to look like that. She paused and said “sometimes." Then she realized we weren’t buying her sales pitch. She took it back and I heard the chef apologize to her. She replaced it 15-20 minutes later. My meatloaf was good, and the overall food was good. But disappointing service, and no one offered anything more than a very quick apology.
This was our first meal at Mozelle's and we enjoyed it. The restaurant is so very tiny that I would say reservations are a must. Our food was expertly prepared and the service was great. The menu options are appealing and interesting. We will return, but only with reservations!
Mozelle's is a good restaurant but it does not deliver value for what it charges, in my opinion.
I mean, $27-$28 for a very small mahi-mahi placed on some guinoa-tomatino mash seems to be way out of line. In addition, on a cold winter's evening, the place periodically fills up with very cold air as patrons come in and out of the front door.
My wife and I went to Mozelle's for our anniversary. The food was creative and very tasty. We happened to be there on a Monday for 1/2 price bottle wine which was a real bargain. Our server was very attentive and professional. We would highly recommend this restaurant.
We have dine many times at Mozelle's and this was the first time that the person waiting on us acted distracted or simply uninterested in taking care of our table. At the end of our meal she showed up and asked if we would like another beverage or if we needed anything. Mozelle's was not that busy Saturday evening!
This was the Third time that I had visit Mozelle's and like the previous 2 other times the food for the price is unmatched. The menu is not large but it does not need to be to enjoy a excellent meal. The menu is diverse and will satisfy most people's needs.
Mozelle's is a nice little bistro for WEST END Winston-Salem. Especially great if you are walking from WEST END; however, it is located in a busy W-S dining area and at most times parking is usually hard to find. Staff are gracious and congenial. Food is interesting in some areas but also has offerings such as basic burgers that please the taste buds. Mozelle's must be commended for receiving a 100 Sanitation Health Grade - that is not an easy task coming from the Forsyth County Inspection Division.
I recently visited with my daughter. We started off with the tomato soup, which was excellent! We then shared the shrimp & grits and the fried chicken. Both were AMAZING! Highly recommend the shrimp & grits if you’re choosing only one meal. Great service, fast, affordable! Overall great!
We went with our college aged grandson after attending his Family Weekend at WFU. It was close enough yet felt like a nice “get away” from all of the activities. The menu had nice creative options and the food was tasty. We sat outside and dined on the later side (9:30) and had a lovely evening together.
Great food. Table for 2 was inches away from another table for 2. Not enough space. No privacy. Take care to separate tables so that couples are not too close. Spread people out when you are not full.. lots of empty places in the tented room. Server was excellent. Loved that they were willing to substitute shrimp for scallops on the special.
We decided sort of last minute to get a group of friends and family together for dinner before some of the group had to leave to return home to Portland, OR. One of our group was professionally trained at Le Cordon Bleu and two of the other guests are the cookbook authors of the upcoming edition of The Joy of Cooking cookbook. My husband and I are local to Winston-Salem and have dined at Mozelle's many times. In discussing dinner options, Mozelle's was our hands-down first choice. We knew the food was exceptional - not stuffy - a modern take on southern classics. We knew that the ambience was cozy - perfect for our small dinner group to just sit and fellowship in relaxed but casually elegant surroundings. Mozelle's did not disappoint. As was expected, the food, service, ambience, and customer care were all excellent. This was a perfect ending to our visit with our out of town guests. We would definitely return, and the "foodies" in our midst were more than pleased. A night to remember. Thank you Mozelle's for living up to the standard we have come to expect. You are certainly a gem on the Winston-Salem food scene.
Everything we had was delicious - coconut shrimp appetizer, short ribs, fried chicken and shrimp and grits. Services was great and we loved sitting outside on a gorgeous Saturday night. I had not eaten here in a while and had forgotten how much I love Mozelle's!
My girlfriend doesn’t like fancy atmospheres, but she loves the food. So this place was perfect. It has a nice laidback, yet upscale, atmosphere and had extremely tasty food. We had the vegetarian ramen and the short ribs and both were very excellent. We also ordered a side of Mac and cheese and it was perfect. We will definitely go back.
Mozelle's food is fantastic. The restaurant is in a pretty neighborhood. The restaurant is small and cozy, and there's nice outside dining also. The food is so delicious, and we've always had knowledgeable, friendly waiters. You can't pick a better place to eat in Winston-Salem.
We were there for brunch on a Sunday. Very delicious. Service was great. Cozy dining. I had the bourbon peach french toast.....to die for! One of my daughters had the firecracker salmon. Salmon was fresh and cooked perfect. Spicy, but we love spicy. My other daughter had the "Go back to bed" sandwich and loved it. So much that she was hostile about sharing a taste. Will go back if I'm in the area again!
