MovieLounge - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
Was our first time going and the staff was very helpful. Our seats were incredibly close to the screen and the manager was not only quick to help but gave us new seats without any questions. Overall experience was great and we will happily be going back for a nice relaxed movie night.
Visited Movie Lounge for Russian New Year Eve (Jan 7). Service was excellent. Good was very good, well presented. Dining room is decorated like a big city room. Saw similar in Dallas and LA. Not too busy this night so noise was not a factor. Tables are not too close together. Really liked the experience. Will be back for sure.
The band was good. The singer great. But the volume was so loud during a 7-8:30 dinner we could not hear to have conversation at our table. We asked our server to speak to someone and she was polite and came back twice to ask how it was.. But they kept music so loud we finally left before we could sit and visit.
Dinner music volume should allow people to enjoy dinner and conversation!
I booked a reservation to surprise my girlfriend with a romantic date. Due to work I was not able to see a movie but the dinner was one of the best that I have had. We both loved our meal and especially the popcorn. The entertainment that they had for the night was spectacular and made the dinner even better. They interacted with the crowd and made my girlfriend and I laugh many times. I plan on making another trip back soon.
The most excellent Celtic band, Coldwater Dog, was the main reason for having dinner on St. Patrick's Day but both entrees were excellent. Big crowd so everything was slower but our exemplary waiter made sure we had everything we needed as quickly as he could. Great evening! Movielounge remains my favorite place to have cocktails and dinner in Ft. Smith. The ambiance is akin to cool, classy restaurants in any large metro area.
The staff was wonderful. They were extremely helpful getting us to a table, near our other guests. They kept the drinks coming, even tea and sodas, popcorn coming, and overall were attentive. No complaints with the staff. My disappointment was in the entertainment blasting us out of the place so much so that we couldn't even talk across the table and a 7:30 reservation having us pay out at 10pm. The food took forever. No one in the restaurant was eating. I am sure everyone had to have reservations so they knew how many people were going to be there for dinner. They were NOT prepared. The food was good...but not for the price. Probably what I would expect from a chain restaurant and therefore, felt it was overpriced and the portions were small. I disliked it before, heard it was better, gave it another try and still find it inadequate. I'm sorry but I won't be back for dinner.
I had been to Movie Lounge once before and had a great experience so I was surprised when my food came out completely different then described in the menu and with no explanation or apology. The just deal with it attitude is what upset me the most! I ordered Filet Oscar with hollandaise sauce and asparagus...exactly as it was described on the menu so when I was served a fillet with lobster no hollandaise no asparagus and instead green beans with no explanation I was shocked! I ask about the asparagus and the server acted as though he had t noticed and then went to the kitchen and came back that they were out??? Why wasn't I told that when it was realized and given the option of alternative sides?
This was our first time at the Movie Lounge. We decided to celebrate a birthday there with a group of friends. We were a little worried about the food from some reviews we had read. I can honestly say the food was excellent. Our food ranged from salmon, mahi mahi, black and blue strip, to filet. All guest agreed the food was excellent. The service was good too. No complaints.
The waiter should have given the prices of the specials. I ordered one and asked how much it was. He said he thought it was $24, but he would check and let me know. He never did. When the bill came it was actually $34! Helluva difference!
Also the music was too loud. I think the musicians were mad because they weren't getting tips. Not as enjoyable as the last two weekends there.
I love a night out at Movie Lounge whether it's for a movie in the cool, intimate theater or relaxing in the sparkling ambience of the dining room. The food has been disappointing in the past but This time, both the taste and portion sizes of all 3 meals were excellent! The angus steak was grilled just right and very tender. My chicken entree was delicious and my friend's spinach salad reported to be great. The margarita was super! The entertainment was good, got a little loud for dinner conversation but was fine for the bar scene. Service was slower than usual but it was a busy night. I'm looking forward to next Saturday night to hear the Mark Alberson Trio, a favorite of mine and have another great meal. Ft Smith is so lucky to have this caliber of restaurant/theater.
Absolutely in love with the ambiance and elegant nature of this facility. We were celebrating our anniversary and were first timers here and were seated in a very romantic circular corner booth. Just what we had in mind for a night away without the kids. The food was delicious despite all of the negative reviews I read prior to going here. The drinks were amazing and not over poured. The steak was perfectly cooked and our food was hot and uniquely flavored. The white chocolate and hazelnut mousse desserts on the house for our anniversary was the icing on the cake so to speak. This was a perfect night for us.
We have eaten dinner here on several occasions and have always enjoyed a nice atmosphere and very good service (by the standards of Ft Smith AR). However, I was never really satisfied with the food. All meals were just satisfactory, and never any real "WOW!" factor.
This weekend, we had a very nice Mother's Day Brunch at the Movie Lounge, and we really enjoyed our meal. Service was solid, and the food was actually pretty darn good. Standard stuff for a brunch spread, but they seemed to be pretty dialed in. Everything seemed fresh, and other than a slightly dry piece of roast beef, I really enjoyed my meal. Still not quite there to 5-Stars, but this brunch was definitely a nice experience that my whole family enjoyed. Well done Movie Lounge.
Easter brunch proved a sure winner. I feasted well! My prime rib was tender with about the best horseradish sauce I've ever had. Every dish I had was excellent. I loved the lemon pound cake that i choose for dessert and slathered butter on it. Yum! The only thing I lacked was a croissant, a brunch staple. My server (Mark) provided attentive, prompt service, great service. I hope Movie
Lounge will do brunch 2-4 times at least during the year. It's a special occasion feast.
I am usually pleased with Movie Lounge, but I was a bit disappointed this time. First of all, they didn't have some of the items that were on the menu. One person's order did not have all of the ingredients. The bread seemed stale and tasteless. I have been ML's cheerleader in the past, but one more visit like this and I will cease to be. I have introduced over 20 people to Movie Lounge and I feel that it reflects on me when the food is not up to snuff.
Went on valentines day. While the the mood and atmosphere of the place were good the food was a disaster, with the only highlight being the shrimp coctail, but then again how can you mess that up. My filet mignon was dry and under seasoned, and my lobster tail tasted like it had been cooked the night before and then microwaved. I would have complained but it was valentines day and I didn't want to ruin the night. The waitress was pleasant when you could find her, she was surprisingly absent most of the dinner. Which I really wouldn't have expected on an occasion like valentines day. The entertainment was very good, and was probably the reason my wife and I stayed. Overall I'd say it was OK but not great.
I booked 2 weeks in advance. Got seated right away. There were quite a few people in the dining rooms but there were a lot of open tables as well. We waited at the table for 20 minutes and saw the server walk past us 3 times and never stopped to get our drink order. I went to the hostess station and asked to be seated somewhere else and was told every table was reserved. Another Waiter walked me back to the table and went to get our drinks. It was another 10 minutes after that until Zack (our waiter) made it to take our orders. We got our 1st course, then our 3rd then the 2nd a few minutes after. After desert and zack was leaving the check he finally asked if there was anything else he could get us. We had to ask other staff members to take our plates from the tiny table bc zack only came to our table to drop off food and leave. It was very disappointing. I've never had bad service from ML in the past so I hope he can get some more training on customer service and how to handle guests in a timely fashion.
To be fair, this was our first time at the MovieLounge and we had high expectations due to its reputation. We saw an advertisement for a special event on Valentines night with a 4 course meal and live entertainment for $120 per couple. We received a reservation for 17:30 because the 19:00 time was all booked and we arrived to a friendly greeting. We were seated in a side room and were the first ones in there which was nice. The restaurant was beautifully lighted and decorated. Our waitress was very friendly and the meal started off well. There was a nice mix of recorded music and the spinach salad was very well done.
When the waitress came with our second course, we asked when the live music was to start and she said 19:00. That was very upsetting to learn that what we were told was going to be part of our meal package was not going to start until about the time we were going to be finished. The rest of the meal was pretty good when considering the flavor, but the temperatures of the 2nd course, the baked mushroom in phyllo, and the 3rd course, the surf and turf, were less than ideal by the time they arrived at the table. I like to cut into a steak and see a little bit of steam on the first cut, but it had rested way too long for that to happen. The lobster tail was like rubber and I had to use the steak knife to cut through it and I didn't finish it, which has never happened to me before.
Both deserts we had were good, but nothing to make up for what came before.
All in all, the food we were served was not worth the $120 by itself and I feel that next year in their promotional description of the event that they need to specify the time the live music will actually be occurring. We usually have better meals for half the price at any one of several of the chain restaurants. I might have overlooked the food issues if there was some entertainment to offset the disappointment.
I feel bad leaving a horrible review because the staff was nice, but the food was the worse we ever had. I'm not saying that as a general term of speech; I literally believe it was the worst restaurant food I've ever eaten before.
My "handmade" ravioli's tasted freezer-burned. The Marsala sauce on top of them was so salty that I couldn't eat it. My husband had similar issues with his dinner. The rice was hard. The texture of his ham was soggy and the chicken tasted overcooked.
It's sad because the menu looked so promising, but everything tasted old and gross.
