Consistent but this time the brown butter couscous wasn’t very “brown buttery”
As excellent as advertised! Superb on all counts.
Post-“Hamilton” date night while the kids are out of town.
My second visit and would definitely go back again. Great choice around corner from MoMA. Limited menu (which is good) and all very interesting. Could easily make a meal out of several appetizers. Everything very well-prepared. Extensive wine list, with many unusual choices, and with several good choices by the glass as well. Sommelier (Tara I think was her name ) was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. I am wine knowledgeable and we had very interesting discussions. She even treated me to some tastes of some other wines. Downstairs tables in large open space are good, not too noisy. Upstairs also has some tables and booths, some directly against the window overlooking the small courtyard, but the low ceiling and narrow space made the space very noisy. Not inexpensive but worth it.
Wonderful evening overall. Exceptional ambiance, service, food and wine. It's one of my favorite SF restaurants, conversation friendly and the staff is very accommodating. Both my husband and I highly recommend it for all ages (upstairs for children with a sophisticated palate).
Always a great experience
Fantastic food, and it's a particularly easy place to eat if you are paleo or have gluten or dairy sensitivities. Highly recommend the short rib shared platter.
Food quality was not as good as in the past, overpriced for the level of delivery. Although we received a warm greeting from the hostess, service from our waiter and wine stewart was lackluster.
I was disappointed. Much hype, fussy attitude and a nearly empty restaurant.
e.g. could we have that table? irritation. very awkward service.
food sparse and expensive, but very good. kale was inedible. coffee was very old.
too bad, since I was really looking forward to it.
If the restaurant is that empty, maybe you should evaluate and modify?
We had a table for four upstairs and it was delightful. We could hear each other and see the sky and trees outside. The food was delicious. We shared the lamb and enjoyed it and the sides very much. The service was fabulous. We will definitely make this our go to restaurant
What a wonderful experience we (4) had a Mourad. I am a celiac and they were so carful about what I ate. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable about all the menu items and his recommendations did not disappoint! Very happy evening. We all said we would be returning soon.
Definitely. This was our second time dining at Mourad. The service was again excellent. The food was again excellent. Mourad continues to sustain the highest quality from the moment you enter to the moment you leave.
Excellent service. All was explained and wonderfully prepared. Spices and flavors are exquisite on the palate.
Always amazingly good.
Exceptional dinner. We had the shared snapper and 4 other people could have joined us and had plenty. All staff were delightful. And our waiter was very informed and helpful. Special place.
Food was outstanding- creative, flavorful and very interesting. Service was terrific!
Everything was amazing! The food was out of this world.
different but excellent we don't have this kind of restaurant in Omaha
Amazing. Phenomenal wine, at the recommendation of our waiter. And terrific food to match.
Fabulous. Exceeded expectations.
Delicious.... appetizers were some of the best I have ever had. Wine list is a bit overpriced, but good quality (SF rent has to be covered somehow I guess). Food was extraordinary, service, ambience outstanding. would definitely recommend, especially if you love the "Moroccan touch" on CA cuisine.
Superb food--very fresh with excellent combination of flavors in all courses and nicely presented. Staff was very helpful in timing so we could enjoy a fine meal and be in time for a theater performance we had tickets to.
Exquisite from the moment we walked in. We were greeted by the hostess, and ushered to a seat at the bar so that they could get our table ready. We enjoyed beautiful cocktails, and our table was ready within 10 minutes. The food was divine. And the service was impeccable. We always stay at the St. Regis when we visit San Francisco, and this was literally 500 feet away from the hotel. This will become a tradition anytime we are in the city.
Excellent service; great food; wonderful ambience!
Overall a wonderful experience. At first, a little daunting for 7 at the large table- but things warmed up.
Staff responded quickly to turn down the music- very loud.
Overall, excellent food!
Every detail has received the right attention in this up-scale restaurant. The service was gracious and helpful. The food is innovative and delicious. We sat in the Mezzanine which is quieter, good for groups. Downstairs has more of a buzz. We especially enjoyed the Basteeya, the duck liver pate, the octopus, the Branzino, braised beef and the couscous. On previous visits we have tried the family-style options--delicious, but a lot of food! Next time we'll come hungrier and try the tasting menu.
Fantastic dining experience with delicious food and great ambiance.
Excellent food and great service. Definitely planning to go back their next time I’m in SF downtown.
The food and service were outstanding!
will come again
Great food, excellent service - Chris was very friendly and warm with sincere hospitality!
The food there was amazing and unique! I would definitely return again to try more menu options when I'm stopping by San Francisco.
Amazingly memorable experience. Expensive but great way to spend extra cash making life long memories
When we booked the reservation we noted it was our anniversary. Every person we encountered wished us a happy anniversary, we got complimentary sparking wine at the beginning of the meal and Happy Anniversary was printed/written on both our menus & dessert plate. We were seated at a table at which we could see into the kitchen. And the food was inventive & fantastic. All in all, an experience that will be hard to beat.
Mourad feels like a special event as soon as you enter. The staff at the front was very kind and helpful getting us situated. Our servers were incredibly helpful in describing the dishes and helping us pick out a dinner experience that was going to work for all at the table - including vegetarians.
We really enjoyed the olives with preserved lemon as an appetizer, as well as the tomato and watermelon salad. Both felt like perfect summer starters and really got us prepped for the flavor profiles to come later. The eggplant 3 ways with the za'atar spiced flatbread was excellent and clever. We had a special dish of summer vegetables with chermoula and the vegetarian couscous dish. The vegetables were tasty, but the couscous dish was the star of the night. Overall, we had a wonderful dinner and would definitely recommend everyone to try it out. The omnivores out there will probably get a completely different experience, since there were several options on the menu that looked delicious!
We enjoyed a family occasion dinner here. Everyone enjoyed their dishes, both vegetarian and carnivore. The flatbread is outstanding - I think it should be sold at the counter all by itself. The braised beef, essentially an elegant pot roast, was delicious, as was the roast potatoes, spiced walnuts, and espresso. Our server steered us to an excellent white burgundy. Prices are high so it is more of an occasion or expense account choice. I also felt that service, very competent, could be more discreet- too many servers for the table, all of whom seemed to expect a curtain call or conversation at each approach. Overall, a fine dinner out.
Like always it was amazing. We love Murad
Beautiful restaurant, fantastic food.
