Excellent Thanksgiving buffet. Food was delicious and view wonderful.
My husband and I wanted to do something different for our anniversary of 28 years. We heard the food was good and decided to try it . it was fun watching the horses race while we ate our meal. The staff was very nice and the food was delicious. We had a great time.
Pleasant atmosphere with more than adequate room between tables. Friendly and competent wait staff. Good selection of regular and smaller dinner selections. Good food at a reasonable price. Great way to have a relaxing dinner and enjoy live horse racing.
We are regulars at the restaurant and my wife and I like to play the horses. We never had a bad meal, and the service is always excellent. We usually bring another couple along with us and they are always impressed with the food, service, and the horses. Keep up the good work.
Fun night with friends for food drink and horse betting.
Outstanding experience! Food was magnificent, service stellar, prices were very reasonable and a wonderful evening experience with a great view!
We enjoyed ourselves, food and service was very good, great views.
We will come again.
We were seated at the window and had a great view of the races. Service was attentive and we didn't feel like they were trying to turn over the table. I had the clam chowder and I think any New Englander would approve with 5 stars as I did. My prime rib was cooked as ordered and great. The mashed potatoes were a disappointment. Dessert and coffee finished off the meal. Mountain View at Penn National Race Course provided a fantastic evening. Great food and the added feature of thoroughbred racing can't be beat.
Great view and great service. Waitress was great and gave good info about menu.
We had such a good time! We were able to have good food and watch the races. We were right on the finish line.
Wait staff was attentive. The prices were reasonable. I thought everything was going to be much more.
The crab cakes were wonderful. We are all ready planning to go back.
The waitress was excellent. The hostess was less than welcoming. Questioning going back due to the front desk staff.
Went to this restaurant to watch the horse races and have dinner. The food was okay, nothing to write home about. The waitress was awesome.
Saved by the Ponies! This was our first time (group of 4) to Mountain View and the horse races.
We had a new server and was noticeable. We didn't know how to use the betting machine at the table and neither did she, let alone some of the dishes, try them all so you know! The ribeye steak was fantastic but cold as were the sides so guessing our server left it to die in the window. Thankfully they know how to heat it up without changing the temp too much-- thank you to the one server with the long braid was hustling around that helped us as well. Ours didn't clear dirty plates or check on empty wine and beer glasses, i would have drank more if she just asked; hubby's cocktail was weak though. Horse races were awesome, we'll be back but a definite change in server.
Overall, decent for the venue. Blake, our server, was really efficient and pleasant. The food was just fine but not memorable. But to watch the races, a really good value.
we were there to celebrate our birthdays and play the horses. we had a good time and will come back at a later date.
Enjoyed the food, although it was a long wait after ordering. The view of the race track was exceptional. There is plenty of space between tables, so you don't feel crammed in.
They need more waitress staff. Everything was great ,but the slow service. Our waitress did not come back to check on us for refills, we had to flag her down if we needed something. Overall great experience. Just that one area was lacking, which will make or break the whole experience for some .
great time, lots of fun, great food, A fun evening that didn't break the budget. would and will do this again.
Thank you HECTOR IS THE BEST!

We really enjoyed the experience... Casual dining and watching the horse races... I would recommend for anyone to try...
Server was nice and fairly attentive. Food subpar. Won't go back again.
Ashlee and Brittney (If I spelled incorrectly slap me next time we are there) are the biggest reasons my wife and I keep coming back. These two ladies need a huge bonus and/or a huge increase in wages. We always enjoy the food and atmosphere. The rest of the staff seems to be very nice but Ashlee and Brittney is the best of the best! THANK YOU again!! Jeff
Good food, good service; slow horses but had a great time
Many of the staff are subpar at best
Always great service. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Enjoy always getting seating we prefer. Highly recommend if you want to watch live racing.
We went to have dinner and watch the races for my moms belated birthday. Good food, races were fun.
Great time with friends. Good food great view of the horse track.
The food and the service was excellent. Will definitely return again.
We had a great time. Food an service were very good. We will definitely do date night there again.
We ate here for the first time and wanted to go,to the races. The food was good, very fresh and we enjoyed our casual meal of a large salad with an added protein. I chose the salmon and my husband picked the crispy chicken. Both of us said we thought these were both quite good. The wine list offered plenty, a wide range and varied price point. We would return if we pass through this area of PA again.
This was our first time at the restaurant and at the races.
* the restaurant was half empty but they made us wait 25 minutes( we were 30 min
early for our reservation but there were more than 50% of the tables open)
*there was no drink or wine list( they said it was being redone because the prices were wrong) the server was friendly but had no clue about what type of wine or beverages were available.
*the crab soup was tasty but not hot
*my club sandwich was just OK for the price
*my wife's baby back ribs were sloppy and overdone.
*the betting machine at the table was not working correctly
Overall the quality of the experience was not real positive. For the money we spent we were disappointed. The food was not as good as at a mid level chain restaurant. No disasters..but not worth coming back.
Our server was extremely pleasant and did a nice job checking on us.
Food had gone progressively downhill. My wife and I used to be 3x a month diners here. Unfortunately I can no longer recommend this restaurant. Ordered the NY strip steak on Saturday night which was a special feature on the menu. Ordered it medium rare. First attempt was medium well to almost well. Second attempt wasn't much better. Our waitress tried but was working short staffed. After the second time of messing up the steak it should have been taken off our bill without even asking. I am not one who pushes for such things, instead I would expect the waitress to take it to the manager. It never happened. The quality of the "locally sourced" steak was poor on par with Texas Roadhouse. It's a shame because they have a beautiful view, a nice draw (the races) and could truly be something special if they upped the food quality. Pricing isn't out of line for most items but the quality simply isn't there anymore.
We enjoyed our getting together at the track. The food I felt was a little overpriced for $15.00 for a cheeseburger that was barely warm when served.Chicken corn chowder was excellent! I will
An ok place to sit and eat while the races are going on. A bit overpriced for the casual atmosphere but your paying to eat while watching the races. Not a place I'd go to for any reason other than as part of a day/night at the races.
Very enjoyable evening with friends, atmosphere was very nice. Service was very friendly and professional.
Food was good and atmosphere was nice, but the portions were a bit small, especially the veggies/sides, and it took a little longer than expected to get our food. Overall, it was a good experience.
Wonderful, great, everybody had a great time.Food and service were the best.
Excellent food and quality service especially considering this restaurant overlooks the Penn National race track. Tables are well spaced for ease of access to place bets. Although the restaurant was very crowded, service was attentive and accurate,
On a scale of 1 -5. Food was a 3 service was a 2. Our server was serving more tables than he could handle. Trackside seating was nice.
This was dinner trackside at Penn National Racetrack. Their biggest racing night of the year.
Our waiter was outstanding, actually, asking us of we needed anything quite often. The had a limited menu that deviated from their expanded menu because the restaurant was sold out.
We had the prime rib. Large portion and done as ordered. Excellent! Being a racetrack it was loud during the running of the races. A nice place to have dinner and watch horseracing.
