    We all had the Turkey Pot Pie. Not exactly a pie, more like a turkey stew with a bicuit in the middle. However, we all (4 of us) enjoyed it. The ambience is nice, noise level was acceptable and the service was friendly and attentive,

    We've eaten at the Inn quite a few times over the past few years, and this was not one of our best experiences. Three of our four meals were not hot and two were so luke warm that we needed to send them back to be reheated. To be honest, this is the first time that we've had this experience, but it was upsetting since we had been telling our cousin's how good the food and service was at the Inn, and then everyone was disappointed. Even the service wasn't up to par. We will go back, and hope that yesterday was an anomoly.

    The Inn is more of a tourist restaurant than a place to go for a nice meal. The service was less than great. The food was ok (one of our entrees was good, the other was less good). Wine list was mediocre. Prices were ok.

    This was a lovely cap on a lovely day. The food was very good, nothing knocked my socks off, but it was high quality and large portions made for excellent leftovers. Service was very friendly, but a little slow and lacked some knowledge of the menu. Ambiance was very nice and well matched the rest of the Mount Vernon experience.

    The cook needs to learn how to cook a steak. We ordered medium Filet Mignon and what came out was raw-rare in the center. We sent it back and then it came out well done and just about uneatable. The rest of the meal was fine. They give a good plateful for the price. As this was a birthday meal for my wife, I wanted it to be better. Additionally they were requested to sit us in a nice secluded table away from the bar and preferably near the fireplace. We got a two top in a separate room with a 6 top finishing up not near the bar, but also not near the fireplace. Will be more specific next time.

    The Inn itself is lovely, especially at Christmas. Wished we were given an option to request seating in the historic part of the building as it was we were placed in the large common room. The place was not crowded at all. The large room was drafty and uninviting. Why not use the spaces that are your best feature architecturally? Food was tasty and served promptly. Staff was plentiful and quick to address requests or to clear the plates away.

    Our waitress was extremely kind and thorough. She explained things on the menu and let us take our time while ordering and eating. What we ordered was delicious and we will definitely be going back!

    We love coming to Mt Vernon Inn anytime but especially at Christmastime. We had the whole place to ourselves for a while and very personalized service. Great meal and dessert! Merry Christmas

    What a fun way to celebrate the holidays! Great food, beautiful historical decor, the piper was playing for us and we had a lovely lunch. Our service was amazing and highly recommend Mount Vernon for get together with friends.

    We have been to Mt Vernon several times but not to the restaurant. We had a great lunch, very varied menu - one vegetarian in our group, one meat eater, one more soup / salad type. So we all got what we wanted. Enjoyed the atmosphere and fast, friendly waiter.

    Horrendous food. I had come here years ago and they served 18th dishes that were delicious. The management must have changed because there is no theme any more. We had a peanut soup that tasted like warmed-up Jiffy peanut butter, the risotto was meh and the turkey pot pie was a gluey mess. I can't believe Mount Vernon let the restaurant slide to the bottom. Yuck!

    The service was good- we had a friendly and attentive waiter named Andrew. The food was average and very salty in general. While the restaurant itself is welcoming and nicely decorated for the holidays, the room we were in was set in a way that you could hear the other tables’ conversations. It was oddly loud and distracting.

    Lovely meal and charming setting. The food is good with nice portions. The service was ok, but attentive. The value is great for such a nice place. We enjoyed the specialties of fried green tomatoes and cornbread among others! Glad we have a membership to MV as we will definitely be back.

    peanut soup was not as I remembered it- it was a little runny. Our kids loved the food and it was the first time we had been to the restaurant as a whole family of 5. The service was beyond outstanding.

    FANTASTIC experience! Beautifully decorated for the holidays. Very festive atmosphere. The dining rooms are exquisite. The food selection outstanding and priced fairly. Everything was delicious. A must visit! Highly recommend.

    The service and food were delicious. My husband had the pot pie. I had butternut squash soup and salad. Afterwards we enjoyed the footless cake…amazing!! The party beside us was rambunctious and noisy. Their behavior did not match the atmosphere of the restaurant. This was out of the staff’s control. We will be back.
