Always great food and service!
Ordered the mussels pot - mussels in spicy broth. There were hard shell chunks in the broth (impossible to find and no warning from the server there may be any). As a result, broke off a little piece of my tooth. Emailed Mott Street and surprisingly did not get a response. Very disappointing experience.
Great birthday dinner the family really liked it. Wish the dessert was a more heavy hitter but it was good :)
We went for a birthday dinner. It was delicious as always and everyone has great service. Excited for the patio to open up.
Ambience is so perfect and food is delicious.
We ate off of the vegan and pescatarian menu and we were quite disappointed with pretty much every dish. I took one bite of the shrimp and really couldn’t eat anymore. The brussel sprouts were dry, the bread was just generally strange and the rice was just that - $7 rice, no veggies - just rice. Not impressed.
Food and service are always excellent. The burger is one of the best I’ve had. The atmosphere is nice and the shared seating promotes meeting new people which is nice.
Great place, our while party did not come in on time. They were still polite and accomodating.
Thought the food was outstanding! Went with a group of 6 so were able to try a bunch of stuff. Loved the everything wings, Brussels sprouts, and scallops. Service was ok. Overall they were great with bringing the food out and clearing plates, however, our server was not very attentive or personal. Really loud environment which made it a little difficult for convo in our group. Might be better with a group of 2-4. I definitely plan on going back. Gotta try that burger!
Must order cabbage, dumplings, and wings! Good spot for a date and great patio.
Food was fantastic. Best dumplings my adult daughter has had - her quote not mine. Loved the rabbit dish - ecclectic!
Always a delicious, fun, and warmly served evening at Mott!
Great variety of dishes. Our server did a great job guiding us in number of plates to order so we had a great breadth of flavor. Food arrived very quickly!
Taking my 2 daughters out for nice night
Valentines dinner. Great food cozy place on a cold evening.
Great place for food friends and ambiance. Minor issue, we were served our appetizers at the same time as entrees.
Awesome, fresh, delicious food. We were seated immediately. Love the Bowl of Awesome!
Attentive staff, inventive menu and nice room. Very well worth the visit
I’d recommend giving this restaurant a try for the unique foods and flavors and style. If you’re wanting a quiet dinner out with a significant other, save this place for another time as that is not the ambiance you’ll experience. The food was very good, and unique. The service was great. The noise level was very loud as you’re seated at long tables with other patrons surrounding you, so if you are not on the same side as the waiter, it’s hard to hear them when giving your order or asking questions/recommendations. They bring out the dishes as they are ready, so it’s more of a “feast” style, which is fun and unique.
Good food. Expensive for sitting at a communal table.
Delicious, creative food, we really enjoyed our meal
My partner is allergic to alliums, and much of the food has undeclared alliums.
Great for a date night. We ordered several items and shared them. Perfect portions. I wish I would have read the menu beforehand because the burger is only available at the bar after 7pm. Overall great food and would return.
Overall a good experience. It was our first visit so we just picked five things that sounded good to us - the Brussels sprouts, kimchi empanadas, bread, scallops, and stuffed cabbage. Our server told us his favorite dish was the catfish hot pot so we swapped the scallops for that. The empanadas we super lackluster and the bread was almost inedible. We LOVED everything else though. The cocktails were tasty and the dessert was ok. I would definitely ask for more server recommendations next time since we loved what he suggested so much. Bonus that the space is so cute.
Dishes were hit or miss. We should have ordered the full fish. Disappointing because I had wanted to go there for years.
We loved our Mott Street experience! The level of service and recommendations of small plate, amazing flavor combinations, and drinks, were spectacular.
This place does not disappoint!
It is “community seating” which was fine with us.
A bit pricey but worth it!
I didn’t appreciate being sat as a group of three next to the door and right next to another party, when there were other tables available and open
Obsessed with Mott St. and will never stop ordering the burger and dumplings. I wish the communal tables with long benches weren't so awkward to sit at though.
Food was delicious but it felt very rushed like they were trying to get rid of us quickly. They also sat us in the far back corner so we couldn’t really experience the ambiance.
Great food and drinks. Can’t wait to go again
Try the scallop dish. Delicious
We came for the burger, which was amazing (we’d previously only had it delivered). For that reason only, I’d go back. Nothing else was that great... the empanadas were good but not memorable; the fried rice was a joke. Honestly, inedible. It wasn’t cooked enough and had no zero flavor. The pork bowl would’ve been good if it had more meat and less pineapple. The short rib was tasty but a joke as a “large” plate. We were really looking forward
to this, but we left very disappointed. I can’t believe we spent almost $200 for such a lackluster meal.
There is not a great place to wait if people are running past their anticipated time to wrap up their meals.
Overall though, the experience was really good.
Five foodies went to dinner and ordered everything off the menu, basically. First every dish was phenomenal however the standouts were the oyster mushrooms, peppercorn shrimp, short ribs, calamari, kimchi udon noodles, japchae, wings etc. My daughter lives nearby and we wondered why she didn’t eat there everyday. Service was phenomenal with multiple servers clearing plates. Wish the place was bigger, open for lunch and had burger available at all times. Will definitely go back.
Great food and cocktails! Our waiter was very helpful as well.
Brunch was delicious, creative menu!! The service was just okay, starting withe the hostess who clearly didn’t know what she was doing on top of having zero hospitality. We only been for brunch and while menu is creative, some of the execution is lacking consistency to bring it to the next level.
The Mott burger lived up to its hype as being the best burger in Chicagoland. The brussel sprouts were seasoned well with bursts of flavor. Empanadas were ok and not much flavor in them. Pork jowl was excellent and paired well with the cabbage. The service was prompt and professional. This restaurant is a must try when in Chicago. Ensure you have a reservation as it gets crowded quickly.
One of my favorite spots in Chicago. I wish they were a bit more lenient with their burger serving policy and the drinks came out a bit faster (received after several small plates) but overall fantastic.
This is a top five place to go to us, our Family and Friends! Always have great food, drink and service.
We went on New year's eve and had a lovely time with the shared plates. The server was most helpful in suggesting dishes and the number to order. Definitely suggest the black cod as well as the rabbit laap. The rabbit is an underrated dish and is served room temperature. The wok smoked gai lan was great and full of umami flavors. The the kimchi and oaxaca empanada starter was nice and cheese without being too spicy. We finished up with the ricotta apple cider donut holes and coffee. It was fully satisfying and would definitely return.
