Motor Supply Company Bistro
This was our second visit to Motor Supply and it remains a good choice for interesting and tasty food. Service was exceptional--especially given the Sat night crowd of Dems in town for the convention. The wine lis--though not extensive-- has some good by the glass options fairly priced. Our meals were tasty with a couple of standout dishes--the charcuterie board and the clam starter. Duck entree was good if a bit dry, the salad was terrific but the shrimp starter was bland.
Motor Supply is in a terrific location as well.
Service was great but the food was even better! Rack of Lamb for me and the duck for my wife. We split 2 appetizers, dessert and a bottle of wine. It was exactly what I expected cost wise going into the dinner so not problems there. Even if it would have cost more the service and food were so good it would have been okay with me.
Prices too high for amount of food. Food was good, but not great.
Steak was chewy , ordered medium rare , it brings sirloin II guess it was to be expected but it was flavorful!?
Food and service were excellent. Portion size for fish was modest.
Saw the Motor Supply Co. Bistro listed in Southern Living as one of the top places to eat in the SE. And it was wonderful. We definitely seek out farm-to-table restaurants; the food was delicious and the service superb.
My steak was not cooked to order, I requested medium well and it was served a red medium. Overall, the ambiance and fine dining was wonderful!
We really enjoyed our evening at Motor Supply! The menu was super creative and the food was delicious. They also have a great wine selection and our service was fantastic!
Great food and an always original and creative menu. Comfortable ambience. Nice and reasonably priced bourbon selection.
It took an hour and a half to be served our food. Very slow service overall. My husband had scallops for dinner and was ill all night and now we are on day 2 at our daughters orientation and he is still under the weather. Pretty certain it was from his meal. Would not recommend this restaurant
Great dinner and atmosphere
Enjoyed this bistro for lunch after reading about it as a top restaurant in Southern Living magazine. It is a hidden gem in Columbia and I recommend it. I enjoyed an entree of chicken curry thighs and my husband had their version of a reuben sandwich. His sandwich was on the skimpy side (hardly any meat), though unique in flavor. If you go, I'd suggest trying an entree as there is much more value presented with these meals. We didn't have room for dessert - maybe next time! Lastly, they have a fantastic wine list - be sure to try something new.
New favorite restaurant!!!
My favorite restaurant in Columbia, food and service are always top notch. Chef Wes Fulmer is always changing up the menu with fresh local foods and new preparations. Josh behind the bar is one of the top bartenders in the south. Worth the trip if your in Columbia.
I got the flank steak medium well; came out medium ..... waiter immediately notice it and ask if I wanted it more cook; after
That the food was perfect
The kale with chicken salad was disappointing. Kale was extremely tough and very little “stuff”(chicken , carrots, etc) in the salad. Guess I should have gotten a sandwich... they looked delicious!!!
Fantastic food and service! I’ve visited many of the better restaurants in cola and this is top 3 for sure!!!
The food was delicious, best shrimp & grits I have had so far.
Great food, exceptional service... We did feel the items were overpriced for the portions.
I had an AMAZING steak!!! The service was primo and the wine list is great!!
We had a large group for my daughter’s high school graduation. Motor Supply was able to accommodate us with a great table. Food and service were wonderful.
We were in town from Durham,NC for my Husbands hip surgery and the nurses highly recommended Motor Supply. The food was disappointing. I had the tomato soup which was a bit watery but most disappointing was the brisket sandwich as the bread was sopping wet from the side salad. I was starving so ate it but not a great experience. I did take my Husband a piece of peanut butter chocolate pie for a post surgery treat and he proclaimed that outstanding.
We loved the free valet parking and service was very nice. But the food was subpar and my salad I thought was a joke. The chicken looked like tiny pieces of hard defrosted chicken and it tasted like it too..
Great food. Good Vista location. We had an excellent experience - thank you!
Great food and great service!
Birthday celebration. We love motor supply!
Great food an service! The menu was very adventurous! I loved the Spanish Octopus! It was very tender and tasteful. The fried oyster salad was fantastic too . . . Lightly ‘dusted’ and golden brown! Definitely recommend the MSC Old Fashioned too. See you soon!
The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. Each person, in our family of 6, ordered a different dish, and we loved them all!
For a quiet Saturday lunch with wonderful service, very good food and great drinks, go to Motor Supply.
We had another great meal at Motor Supply! Everything was fresh and delicious and perfectly cooked. Will definitely be back!
We had a lovely time! Cocktails were amazing, and the dinner menu had lots of options. Dessert was a must...we ordered multiples. Always a pleasure!
Treated us very well, great food
Great anniversary dinner!
Met a friend from Charleston for lunch to encourage her through a difficult time. The setting was quiet and we were seated in a private spot as requested. My friend had a pork chop dish w/ beans that she loved. I had a grilled chicken breast w/ Mexican Street corn. My dish lacked flavor definitely not Motor Supply quality. I’ve enjoyed many delicious meals here before and will be back. Please add the Twisted Sister Cocktail w/ Basil Hayden’s Bourbon & St Germain back to the Cocktail Menu it is my absolute favorite.
We had a beautiful night with friends at Motor Supply. Ownership and staff are incredible and the food is great. Josh Streetman was behind the bar and made us great drinks and turned me onto a special bourbon he had in house.
Been here before for dinner but never lunch. Lunch was super. Great food, wonderful service and the portions were lunch appropriate. Clearly one on the best places to eat in Columbia.
The food is always unique and delicious. Service was incredible, and the quaint space creates the perfect setting to celebrate with a few friends. Loved it!
At 10:30 on a Saturday night the place was empty and the waitress desperately wanted us to leave - very disappointed in the experience and this is one of my favorite restaurants in Cola
The best place to eat in Columbia! We loved our food the other night. One minor snafu...I ordered the Strawberry Creme Brûlée, but was served the regular Creme Brûlée. I was offered a free dessert for the mistake. I really suffered through that regular Creme Brûlée!
