Contemporary American
Located in the historic Congaree Vista with a heated patio and free valet parking, Motor Supply has been serving progressive, New World cuisine using classic French culinary techniques for over 20 years. Led by Executive Chef Wesley Fulmer, the kitchen's lunch, dinner and brunch handwritten menus change daily, featuring contemporary New American cuisine, with nods to Creole, Cajun, Southern, French and Asian cuisine. Motor Supply works with local, sustainable farms for produce, meats, dairy and more. Seafood is caught off of the SC coast, and all of our charcuterie, desserts, stocks, sauces and dressings are made in-house. The bar boasts an extensive Wine Spectator Award of Excellence-winning list (2006-13), imported, domestic and local craft beers, as well as an artisan farm-to-shaker cocktail list made from house-infused liquors, handmade bitters, barrel-aged spirits and locally-sourced ingredients and garnishes, mixed up by Head Barman Josh Streetman.

Mike does a fabulous job to make our lunch enjoyable. He has a good rapport with his customers and he is very attentive!
This past weekend, the hostess did a thorough cleaning of every table and chair which included the arm chairs, seat and underside of these parts. Additionally, Motor Supply used one time recyclable paper menus to protect patrons from the spread of disease. Thank you for a job well done!

Always wonderful!!! Food was excellent, attentive but not intrusive service, and the staff were lovely to the adorable couple who got engaged at the table next to ours! This is one of our favorite date-night spots. Ask to sit out on the porch. Don’t sleep on their desserts either!

Motor Supply has been a personal favorite dining spot for many years, but lately the menu has not shown the variety and creativity it has in the past. Will give it some time before trying again.

I have eaten at Motor Supply many times, it has always been good. They were out of 2 wines we ordered. Had to send entree back. Scallop were ok, but the grits were watery, the beans were not done. I had two other people taste to make sure it wasn’t just me. Next dinner was just okay. My husbands skirt steak was not cooked correctly.
Very disappointed, came to town was looking forward to dinner.

We have been here several times in recent years and it is always a pleasure. We had the pleasure of sitting on the enclosed porch and that cut down on the noise and the number of people walking by. Cocktails were served promptly and the hurricane was very good. Tonight we had the beet salad , I split it with a dining companion and wished I had had the whole thing to myself! The mushroom/ truffle soup was hot and tasty. The pork chop dinner was enjoyed, as was the scallops. They were beautifully presented and served hot. The Coulotte steak was cooked and seasoned to our liking but tonight's cut was a not quite as tender as we have had it in the past. The only disappointment was the duck. It was flavorful bit seemed overcooked and a bit dry. The accompaniments of rutabaga puree, farrow and carrots were all good. For dessert, do not miss the cheesecake. Tonight's version had a bourbon sauce with pecans. Oh so good! the coffee was fresh and delicious. We will be back

Really good meal. I had the crispy oyster salad, duck and peanut butter bar. All were excellent. Others had halibut and filet mignon. All were well prepared, good portions, excellent accompaniments. Recommend without hesitation. There's a reason it's been around 30 years.

This was our first time dining here. I would highly recommend it. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. Alice was our server and anytime she came to our table to ask how everything was she said excuse me if we were talking. She was very personable and we enjoyed speaking with her. The same can be said of the person she was training.

Even though we have lived in wonderful S.C. for 33 years, it was our initial visit here. Wonderful experience from top to bottom. We were not disappointed.
Folks, make a reservation to dine here. Thanks to Eric, Josh and Matthew.

My husband and I went out for my birthday dinner and as always motor supply did not disappoint! The food and cocktails were delicious as usual. Our server Katie was very knowledgeable and helpful with picking out items I could eat since I was just put on a dairy free diet. The ambiance was pleasurable and my husband and I were able to have nice conversation without having to raise our voices. Overall, it was a very pleasant dining experience!

Wonderful food and cocktails! Have eaten here before with good service however service was lacking at most recent dining experience; specifically finished meal before server came to check on how entrees came out and had to ask alternate staff for to-go boxes + check.

We felt Saturday was leftover night. Steak was cooked very well- despite the tough tendon running through it, and the creme brûlée was very eggy. We did enjoy the chartruterie board - the Duck was fantastic. Too often many options (or pieces of the dish) were no longer available. For a Saturday night at 6, it’s disappointing. We sat in the porch area, which was charming.

First time here. Great food choices as the menu changes almost daily with the Chef's selections. We had duck, flat iron steak, and pork chops. Wonderfully prepared and delicious tastes. Eric, our server, was great and very helpful with food choices. Highly recommend this restaurant and remember, you get what you pay for...great food!

Came here during a work trip and the food was amazing. We had the Portuguese fish stew that was the perfect amount of fishiness and heat, I ordered the tile fish dish that was actually just sold out, but they were able to make the dish with black bass and it’s cooked perfectly and delicious. We didn’t have a chance to try to dessert but they certainly look tempting. Would definitely come back if we are in town again.

it would have been a wonderful evening all the way around, but it was marred by the fact that my date slid down on the floor that was VERY slippery near the restrooms. Obviously she was very embarrassed but also injured her knee and is very bruised and sore. She was provided a bag of ice and apparently the floor was cleaned, but even though we would never ask and we paid the bill and left a 20% tip, I would have at least been pleased if at least a glass of wine would have been taken off the bill considering she had nothing to do with the extremely slick floor. Wonderful restaurant and we certainly would recommend and be back.

The food was good but the portions were way too small. I ordered a scallop appetizer($16) and there were 2 scallops on the plate. They were delicious but come on! I guess they serve their Lima beans & black eyed peas al dente but that definitely isn’t what you expect in the South:/ Spent $130 on dinner and left hungry. They didn’t even serve bread:(

Outstanding delicious food with great service. For appetizers we shared the Diver Scallops, fresh, large, cooked perfectly, served with tasty black-eye peas. For entrees my wife had the duck combo of crispy duck breast and confit thigh/drumstick. Both were really delicious. I had the halibut, fresh and cooked perfectly delicious. Both entrees were accompanied with nicely seasoned vegetables. For dessert, we shared the chocolate rasberry torte, wonderful. Excellent wine list from which we chose a Williamette Valley Pinot Noir.

We went with a group of friends on Valentine's Day. We all love the restaurant and the atmosphere. We immediately got our reserved table. The waitress was knowledgable and super nice. The drinks were exceptional! The food was very good but not as good as normal. Of course, February is not really a time of the year were many local vegetables are in season which makes it somehow harder. Particularly if you are not into turnips and cauliflower. My husband had the halibut with lima beans which was delicious, the steaks were all fantastic. I had the pork chop which was super tender but a bit too fatty for me with too many greens and not enough purple sweet potato puree. The cheese platter was a little disappointing. The cheese was very good, the different sauces not as much, the mustard sauce had a funky taste to it that did not compliment the cheeses well in my humble opinion. Besides this minor let down, we had a fantastic evening with good friends in a super nice restaurant and will go there again. Thanks for always providing a great experience!

Always great food and a great ambiance. We only wish you would carry at least one domestic/ non-craft beer. Not everyone ( most people we know) likes craft beer and having the option of at least Miller Lite or Budweiser on the menu would be a great improvement and make you more money. We did not order drinks as we had planned because of the offerings. We would have had at lest 2 rounds each. Money you lost out on.

Food and service was fantastic! I would recommend the pork chops. Very tasty!!! Wife had the halibut, also very good! Our hostess and waitress were very attentive to our needs. We got seated right away even though we were early. Only thing I would comment is we were not offered bread. Perhaps it's not standard there? Other than that, it's a terrific place and would recommend to anyone visiting Columbia SC :-)
