James was our waiter. He was New to Motor. He didn’t have all the answers to our questions.
Ordered fish fries . Food was good with the option of all you can eat but Motor ran out of fish on a Friday during the Lent season.
Had fried Oreos for dessert. Excellent dessert.
Overall... very good.
This place has potential, but when your food is served on the cool side (Brisket Stuffed Potato) is a real let down. Two people at our table had meals that served cool. The place wasn't that busy either.
Favorite business lunch venue.
Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. The food was quite tasty! It was a very enjoyable lunch. We were not rushed, our food came at a reasonable rate.
The food and the service was great. We had a nice view of the river where we were seated.
When in very excited for the blues and barbecue . Bar vibe very good.Great beer selection great service. We were seated we placed our order 2-3 minutes later our food arrived warm to slightly cold at best.Barbecue ribs tasted and looked like they've been sitting under a warmer all day. French fries were cold very very disappointed. Literally the best part of the meal was the corn bread roll.
Waitress was very friendly and on top of things. Kept her distance while we talked business. Food was ok and I thought pricey. Noise levels rose as more people came in and the industrial decor tended to amplify the sounds
Our food was speedy and very tasty, and my buddy got winked at by the waitress which made his day (thou maybe not his girfriends, haha).
I go there often for the Saturday night music - great band. There's plenty on the menu to choose from and there are monthly specials available too.
We made a reservation for a specific time. When we arrived it was not busy. We had to wait to be seated because they only share one computer system and someone was taking another reservation. (No big deal) We were then seated and waited at minimum 10 minutes to order our lemonade. We then had to keep asking to order our appetizers and then our meal. After we received our food we were asked if we needed anything else and we said yes, the waitress said you’re welcome and walked away. We decided to forget it. The waitress checked on us once during our dinner before we asked for boxes. We could not hear anything because the band was way too loud for such a small space. When I tried to pay immidiately the waitress put the bill on the table and I asked her to take it but again she walked away. We felt ignored repeatedly, and it wasn’t even busy. Perhaps only come here to drink and listen to music because it reminded me entirely of a bar that served food. The service was not at all what I would have expected from a franchise like Harley, but I’m glad I was able to experience it and deter any fellow patrons. Poor service. Mediocre food. Good music. That’s it in a nutshell.
Came to grab dinner with some friends before a concert - it was about 6:00pm and was a great time to be there. Not many people dining, service was spectacular, food was ready quick, and tasted delicious! We will definitely be dining again soon!
Probably a blast in the summer as it looks like outdoor dining. Will be sure to go back. Phenomenal menu and atmosphere. Iconic Milwaukee at its best!
Great time once again at Motor. Went with friends for the first Bike Night of 2018. Our waitress, Brooke, was fabulous! She was attentive, brought a sample of a beer for my friend to ensure she liked it before ordering a full beer (did that on her own, we didn't ask for it), food came out really quick. Ordered cheese curds and fried pickles for appetizers, which were hot and delicious (and gooey for the curds!). Around the table for dinner we had Kale salad, cheeseburger, brisket stuffed potato, flatbread pizza, sliders, and brisket salad. Everyone loved their meal. Great job, Motor!!
Cold food. Slightly less cold when remade. (MAC and cheese). One server for whole dining room for first twenty min of sitting down.
Go here for drinks and The Blues on Sat evening. The food is just ok, nothing spectacular. I would eat somewhere else and then come for the music.
Wonderful staff and good food! We celebrated the new year and really enjoyed it.
The menu descriptions and food choices were appealing. The french fries were hot, but the meat was just warm and the barbecue sauce was okay tasting. The waiter was friendly but didn't check if we needed any refills or how our food was until we finished eating.
It was quite busy and service was slow - didn't seem to be enough servers for the number of people in the restaurant.
My bill was not correct and took a while to correct.
I go to Motor often for the music on Saturday nights. I will continue to go but hope that the service issues improve.
Very poor waitress, didn't bring us water after asking. We felt ignored.
Excellent fish fry
Cold food, inattentive server, ambience was good, music was good
Great place. The brisket sandwich was really good. I was very surprised that was not crowded. The live blues music was a big plus. It reminded me of Nashville.
Had a great night at Motor. We both got barbecue platters and they were very good. Perfect early autumn evening on the patio- couldn't have been more relaxing. Very reasonable prices for very good food, and good beer selection. Was kinda dead there for a Saturday, like folks don't think to go there! Just well done all around.
We had made a reservation as part of our anniversary celebration after touring the Harley-Davidson Museum. We were seated immediately and then we waited an inordinate amount of time for wait staff. The live music was excellent but a bit too loud for the small space. We had difficulty communicating with the wait staff because of the high noise level. The food was served promptly, was of adequate proportions, and was priced fairly. The main course was fine, but we regretted ordering the peach cobbler for dessert. It was too tart and was not cooked long enough. Management did compensate our bill for that. Although it would probably be fine to stop into the bar for a sandwich at lunch time, I would not go out of my way to eat at this restaurant again for a special occasion.
Great food. Excellent service. Great outdoir dining
Food and atmosphere pleasant; a little pricey but we expected that. Thought would be a little more comfortable seating...a little loud and it wasn't very busy while we were there, even though was at 5:00pm...clean.
I've been to Motor several times and it has not disappointed. Good service and food. And you can't beat its location - right across from the Harley Davidson Museum. Great place to bring out of town guests. Motor's design and special "H-D" touch are also worth the visit. The whole "Harley" thing is a fun experience. And outside there are lots of (privately-owned by visitors) bikes to gawk at.
Motor is being renovated right now so things are a bit unsettled. The servers are trying to deal with it but they don't seem to be paying attention to the customer.
Food and service were stellar! Came from Chicago and would highly recommend Motor to anyone going to or in the Milwaukee area, even if they are not Harley-Davidson fans. The restaurant is right on the water with beautiful scenery. They have an outstanding outdoor patio! Food was delicious I recommend the fried pickles and the loaded BLT sandwich, both very good!
I go to Motor a few times a month to hear music on Saturday nights, which is great.
If they are really busy, service can be an issue and with the renovations going on, it's understandable.
We sat outside because, for a group, it is too noisy to easily converse. Lovely patio and wonderfully attentive and pleasant staff...sorry don't remember her name. We love eating on the patio with all the marine traffic.
We had reservations after going through the museum. We were done earlier than expected and they were able to accommodate the change. Service was fantastic and the food was excellent!
Fun, lively, good beer. If you enjoyed the museum you will enjoy dining here!
I have had good experiences overall at Motor, however, this particular instance I was allowed to make a reservation at Motor only to arrive there and find a sign on the door stating that the restaurant was closed for a private event. Please make sure to update online reservations when planning to close your business for private parties. Luckily we were able to get a table down the street at Soblemans for burgers and bloodys
Great outside casual venue for a quick lunch or dinner
I go to Motor nearly every Saturday for live music - am so happy they have it. Since I'm there so often and have dinner, it would be nice to see a few more options on the appetizer and sandwich menu. And also having individual pizzas with meat or pepperoni would be great. They do one flatbread pizza but with no meat.
I also feel the wine is terribly overpriced.
Quite disappointing. Mixed drinks tasted odd and appeared only 1 bartender servicing bar and wait staff orders. Once at the table all meals brought to table except 1. It wasn't until I went looking for the 6th persons meal they realized 1 was still missing . They had no idea they hadn't served the table complete. Meals were nothing extraordinary.
All in all over rated.
The BBQ was great and we were there for the live blues music night which was fabulous.
The band plays on the bar side so we could still talk without shouting and yet sing to every song if we wanted to. I would highly recommend Saturday night dining!
Came for the music and dining...reserved a high top table so we could dine
and enjoy the music...none were available, so they put us in the dining room
My meal BBQ was good, my wife's BLT sandwich was ok at best.
They have room for improvement when it comes to overall quality of food.
The meal was excellent and the service prompt and friendly. It was just a bit too chilly to eat outside when we went, but Motor boasts a great view of the river and has a wonderful river-walk that runs along the Harley Museum grounds. The bar is fun and features some great specialty beers. The monthly specials are always interesting. Highly recommend this place for bikers and non-bikers alike!
